Testing

The cold spot radiates from the central part of the back cover. The thermocouple in the center of the chamber after several hours of operation measured 16℃ at an ambient temperature of 28℃, and this is only a 12-degree difference

But we all know that air doesn’t have very good heat transfer, unlike metal, which covers 90 percent of the chamber, so I bought a few cans of cola beer and continued testing. On the left is a picture immediately after rooming, temperature 28℃, an hour later top 27.4℃, bottom 24.7℃

Later I painted over the shiny surface with a black marker. After 2 hours the temperature dropped to 24.2 and 22.3℃

After another hour and a half, the top jar cooled to 23.8℃, the bottom to 18.6℃

The conclusion is logical: a metal surface cools objects faster than plastic or air, so if you need to quickly cool drinks, it is better to place them down and closer to the back wall, but if a chilled drink needs to be stored for a long time, it makes sense to place it on plastic closer to the door or on a shelf , to me, a liquid of 18 degrees seems quite cold and unpleasant to drink in one gulp, but 22-24 in the summer goes great

We've sorted out the metal, but what about the glass? For your sake I had to buy a couple of bottles of dark and light pear beer. I placed both on a metal surface. The initial temperature was 28.7℃, after an hour it dropped to 24.8℃, after another hour and a half to a comfortable 21-22℃

Well, the next day at 13:15 I threw in 4 bottles of soda to drink throughout the day

After 4 and a half hours, the front bottle has cooled down to only 24.4℃, but the rear bottle can already be taken to 22.4℃

After another 3 hours, the rear bottles cooled to 18.5℃, the front to 20.6℃, by 23:30 the bottle was ice cold

Well, since cooling occurs inside, it means there must be heating somewhere. There he is, in the back. The output is about 40℃, which is 10℃ higher than the ambient temperature, the board does not heat up much (top right)

Similarly, when switching to heating, the outside radiator begins to give off cold. By the way, it heats well

True, heating is not as in demand as cooling, so it’s more of a bonus, you don’t need a lot of intelligence to switch the polarity, you don’t even need any electronics, and in winter you can maintain the temperature of some prepared food in the car, so as not to chew cold food later .
As for consumption, the stated cooling is 55W, heating is 45W, I got the opposite

By comparison, glass bottles cool more slowly in the door of a regular refrigerator, but again, there is an exchange through plastic and air. But this also leads to the main disadvantage of the subject: the temperature is not regulated in any way and during the day/night the drinks cool down too much (15℃), so you have to wait until the temperature becomes comfortable. On the other hand, this is the cheapest model, maybe later more “smart” models will appear that will monitor the readings and adjust the power. Otherwise, everything is not bad: not very small, but not huge either, lightweight, can be powered from the car network during long trips, and if necessary, turns into a heating pad with one flick of a switch. I don’t need one like this at home, but it’s already taken root in the garage. Now it works, there are several cold bottles of the drink inside and a large tube of cyanoacrylate (65g) in the door, in such conditions the spout does not become clogged with glue, and the gel itself becomes thicker, so it is easier to apply it to a number of surfaces.
