The main advantage of a transformable stroller for newborns is durability and efficiency. When choosing one, you don’t need to worry about purchasing a walking “version” in just six months, and you can use it for up to three years. The transformer is equipped with a deep cradle, usually with a semi-rigid bottom, a removable cover and insulating elements. The backrest can be raised to 2-3 positions, and the handle for parents can be moved to the opposite side.

At first glance, buying a transformer is a really profitable and practical solution. But often its benefits are appreciated by parents of children under one and a half years old. When the baby becomes more mature and active, using a bulky transformer becomes not as convenient as before. And such a stroller usually does not last until three years: at some point it is still replaced with a compact walking “cane”.

Modular system

Depending on the number of modules, the system may be called “2 in 1” or “4 in 1”. The most affordable and common options - “two in one” - are a metal frame with a chassis onto which the cradle is fixed, and after a while it is replaced by a walking block.

The special feature of the cradle is its exceptional compactness. Usually it is suitable for babies up to 4-6 months, but it will no longer be possible to place an older baby in it, and the cradle needs to be replaced with a walking block. It is equipped with a folding hood and a footrest; the position of the backrest can be adjusted.

Additionally, the kit may include a car seat, which is convenient for parents who are used to traveling by car. Buying a set is usually cheaper than purchasing a stroller and car seat separately. The fourth module is a stand for the cradle. Returning from a walk with a fallen asleep baby, you can simply move the cradle to the stand. There is no need to wake up the baby by transferring him to the crib.

Fact. Modular strollers are often equipped with a maneuverable chassis with swivel front wheels. This is a very convenient solution for the city, frequent walks, and shopping. Such models are distinguished by exceptional cross-country ability: they are easier to handle on sidewalks, steps, and uneven grounds. Their degree of shock absorption is usually less than that of classic bassinets, but here the manufacturer sacrifices some of the child’s comfort in favor of the mother’s comfort.
