Benefits of 144Hz Devices

The first thing that catches your eye is a completely different picture, unlike monitors with a lower frequency. It is brighter, smoother, more vibrant and more realistic .

Note! Content plays smoothly and without lag. This is more noticeable in games than when watching movies.

A high refresh rate helps you react faster to any little things that happen during the game. This gives a big advantage to gamers with such a screen.

How to choose a 144 Hz monitor in terms of price/quality ratio?

  1. Response time . For modern gaming monitors used in professional gaming, the response time should be 1-2 ms. For ordinary users, 3-6 ms will be enough.
  2. Diagonal . For high-quality images at this image frequency, it is not recommended to take a device with a diagonal smaller than 24 inches. Otherwise, this parameter relates to purely individual preferences, but the larger the screen, the more pleasant the detail displayed.
  3. Screen resolution . The minimum recommendation is 1920x1080 pixels, but resolutions of 2560x1440 and 3840x2160 (or 4K) are becoming increasingly popular. However, when choosing a resolution, you should take into account the capabilities of the video card installed in your PC.
  4. Matrix . Panels with a TN matrix are considered an inexpensive option with minimal response time, but their picture quality can be noticeably poor. But models with IPS have improved contrast and image quality in general; their images are brighter, more vibrant, and naturalistic. Modern monitors can also be equipped with an MVA panel, which is a kind of hybrid and combines the advantages of the two options described above.
  5. Connections . Make sure your monitor has all the necessary connectors, inputs, and ports to connect additional devices. If you don't like built-in speakers, then having an audio input will be your priority.

The *VA matrix has good color reproduction and viewing angles, but they are worse than those of models with an IPS matrix . But the response of such monitors is better.

AOC C24G1

4.7/5

103 reviews

Buy Yandex Market

average price

RUB 15,627

Characteristics

  • resolution: 1920×1080 (16:9)
  • matrix type: *VA, 146 Hz
  • curved screen
  • Contrast: 3000:1
  • brightness: 250 cd/m²
  • technology: FreeSync

Sixth place goes to AOC C24G1. Mid-price segment monitor. A model aimed at gamers. There are VGA, Display Port and two HDMI ports. The design here is quite strict, but modern, one of the most advanced in our TOP. This is due to the curved display with a diagonal of 24 inches . The company did this so that the user gets the maximum experience of the picture and what is happening in it; this effect is enhanced by a thin frame, which is almost invisible during use.

The model's stand, made in the MSI style, has height and tilt adjustment. The device, both in its system and design, resembles the Optix G241 from a Taiwanese company. Weight—4.5 kilograms . A high-quality eight-bit VA matrix is installed inside. The viewing angle indicated by the manufacturer on the website is standard - 178 degrees , but since this is a curved monitor, the sensations from the picture will be completely different than on a standard one. Thanks to the high frame rate, users specifically note the smoothness of what is happening on the screen during the game.

The control buttons are located at the bottom right, the menu itself is a little truncated: we do not get full control over the device, but even what is available here is enough to configure it for comfortable use. Let's move on to the features of the device. In addition to the curved display and high frame rate, the guys from AOC focused on the brightness and contrast of the image. Well, let’s add on our own that with a VA matrix, no HDR is needed. There are no technologies here, only standard Flicker Free and improved Free Sync Premium, which differs from the usual in that even if frames drop from 144 to 30, you won’t feel it, of course, if you have an AMD video card installed.

But there are also flaws here, they are all related to the build quality. It’s not critical, there are no glares, but there are unpleasant sounds during operation. In some copies, the backlight flickers; you can return it under warranty, but you need to do this in the first month of purchase, so we advise you to check the device in the store.

Pros:

  • Price.
  • Design.
  • Frameless.
  • Free Sync Premium.
  • Curvature of the display.

Minuses:

  • A large number of defects.
  • Reduced menu.

Price 16,000 rubles . The company managed to develop an inexpensive, high-quality device with a stylish design, albeit with a considerable number of defects. The curved screen will create maximum immersion in the workflow.

The matrix here is made using IPS technology, which means excellent color reproduction and amazing levels of contrast and saturation. Due to this, the screen is convenient to work in graphic editors, and when watching movies, a wide color gamut will do its job.

For gamers, there is a low response time of 1 ms, as well as a refresh rate of 144 Hz. The inputs here are modern - 2 HDMI and 1 DisplayPort, so to connect to older video cards you will have to buy an adapter. A more significant drawback is the flimsy stand.

MSI Optix G24C6 24″, black

Experience of use: less than a month Advantages: 144 Hz, curved, 24 inches, good color rendition, lightweight, many additional functions in the menu for games (for example, an on-screen assistant for games that places various sights in the center of the monitor and for shooter fans this function can be very useful useful, there are many different sights to choose from in two colors: white and red, there is also a night vision system, which makes dark areas lighter and everything is better visible in them) Disadvantages: price, if as a regular monitor, then high, but if for a gaming A monitor with such characteristics is excellent. Comment: Excellent gaming monitor, very pleased with the color rendition. The monitor menu is controlled by a joystick on the back (in the photographs of the product on the market you can see a red button behind it, so this is a joystick with up\down\left\right\click controls, which is very convenient than ordinary buttons located in a row. I also chose this monitor because that it has a bracket mount (the monitor is very light, it only weighs a couple of kilograms, so you can hang it on any surface, it won’t vomit under the weight).

A good picture, really cool, I won’t even talk much about it - e-book modes (black and gray screen, great for text, eyes don’t get tired), RGB, etc. and so on. There will be no problems with the functionality and the picture, you’ll set everything up and everything will be cool. Pros: 1. Light sensor, very useful, turned off the lights in the room - it darkened the screen itself. But it only works in some modes, for example, it doesn’t work in sRGB, but when you play games it works great. I turn on the standard mode and configure it so that the light sensor turns on in it. (Eye Care -> BI+ -> ON. I also set the sensor sensitivity to 80). 2. HDR modes, and in general the modes and settings are very convenient. The first day I climbed, I got used to it and now I use it. I like the presets -> you configure them as you want, and then turn them on when needed. My most popular ones are Standard and sRGB, the only difference is that the light sensor in the standard one is turned on. I also turn on the Ebook when I need to read something - the screen is gray. 3. Awesome design, especially the stand. I always want to touch it, especially touch the orange rubber edging. 4. Great speakers. Set the sound mode to “Cinema” and watch YouTube - fire. Sometimes I even play Fort without headphones. Really great sound, but you need to set it to the “Cinema” mode. 5. When a friend comes over to look at your monitor, his jaw drops.
