Lenovo laptops are deservedly popular all over the world. This is facilitated by several factors, including high quality workmanship, a price that is often lower than competitors with similar characteristics, and a wide range of models. Thanks to the latter, each user has the opportunity to choose a good option for their budget for work, study and play.
The manufacturer has several main lines of laptops - ThinkPad, IdeaPad, Yoga and Legion. The first include models for professional activities, characterized by a capacious battery, reliable design, comfortable keyboard and small size. IdeaPad are both budget and premium laptops for universal use.
Yoga includes convertible laptops with an unusual design and predominantly touch monitors. Legion is a powerful mobile platform for gamers that combines affordable prices and powerful hardware. To make it easier for you to understand all this diversity, we have prepared a rating that includes only the best Lenovo laptops of 2021. The TOP included 13 models of different directions, each of which has a detailed description and a list of positive and negative aspects.
Lenovo V130-15
The manufacturer offers a wide range of modifications, among which you can choose an option for any budget. The device will be a good choice for everyday use, study and work. There won't be enough power for gaming. The processor chosen was Intel core i3 with 2 cores and 4 threads, which is combined with 4/8 GB DDR4-2133 with the potential for upgrading to 12 GB.
The only built-in video core is UHD Graphics 620. The Windows 10 Pro operating system is installed on a high-speed 128 or 256 GB SSD, which can be supplemented with a classic hard drive or a second solid-state drive. The picture is transmitted to a 15.6-inch display with HD or FHD resolution, an opening angle of 180 degrees and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. Unfortunately, it is made using TN technology, which gives limited viewing angles. There are not enough USB ports - only two, but there is a good HD web connection, covered with a mechanical shutter, and a DVD drive.
The spill-resistant keyboard is equipped with a full numeric keypad, but without backlight. The case is assembled from practical matte plastic and contains a battery that lasts up to 6 hours of continuous use.
Pros:
- Lightweight - 1.8 kg;
- The keyboard does not flex and has a pleasant key travel;
- Fast bundled SSD;
- Folds out 180 degrees;
- Productivity is enough for work and study;
- Full-size keyboard, protected from dust and water;
- There is no play or creaking.
Minuses:
- Only 2 USB ports;

RAM of 8-16 GB allows you to quickly process a large number of tasks, tabs, and applications. But in terms of total memory, the model is inferior to similar devices, but this does not prevent the use of drives or cloud storage.
The device is convenient to use due to the full-size keyboard with soft key travel and a sensitive touchpad.
The processor selection here is limited, but both i3 and i5 make this laptop a good workhorse.
A full battery charge at maximum load on the system is enough for 4 hours of operation, at average load - 6-7.

The 14-inch screen is presented with two types of matrix, viewing angles are quite wide, you should expect obvious glare only in bright lighting.
The model has very high-quality sound - after all, Lenovo does not skimp on speakers.

Lenovo V15
The company produces good, but inexpensive models for work, a prime example of which is the Lenovo V15. The laptop has a 15.6-inch TN matrix with thin frames and FHD resolution. The brightness reserve is small - 220 cd/m2, but the anti-reflective coating slightly corrects the situation. Although on a bright sunny day the picture still becomes too dim.
The key feature of the device is the keyboard. It is full-size, has three additional keys and, most importantly, is protected from water, so an accidentally spilled cup of water will not harm its performance. Secure operation in corporate networks is facilitated by the built-in cryptographic module TPM 2.0, which encrypts all data on the device. The battery lasts up to 6 hours without recharging, but a lot depends on the usage scenario.
The plastic case is compact in size - 20 mm thick and weighs 1.9 kg, making it easy to carry. There is not much RAM - 4 or 8 GB with a frequency of 2133 MHz. The volume can be expanded up to 12 GB, for which 1 free slot is provided. The integrated graphics are UHD Graphics 620 and are combined with 4-core Intel Core i5/i7 8th processors. You can store data on two drives - on an SSD, where Windows 10 Pro is preinstalled, or on a HDD, which can be placed in the second slot. If you need the cheapest, but reliable and easy-to-use option for work, then the V15 will be an excellent choice for those looking for the best Lenovo laptops under 50,000 rubles.
Pros:
- Light and thin;
- One of the most affordable offers on the market;
- Spill-resistant keyboard with 3 programmable keys;
- Additional 2.5″ compartment;
- Pre-installed Windows 10 Pro in some modifications;
- There is plenty of performance for work and everyday use;
- Quiet;
- A good display for its price category;
- Matte practical plastic;
- Small charger.
Minuses:
- Small margin in brightness;
- Power button next to Delete;
- The keyboard is not backlit;
- There is no rj-45(ethernet) connector.
⇡#Temperature, frequencies and noise
We tested a large number of laptops that use similar Kaby Lake Refresh, Whiskey Lake and Commet Lake chips - the Core i5-8265U model belongs to the second family. When all cores are loaded, the processor frequency can theoretically reach 3.7 GHz. This is an excellent indicator, but we must take into account that we are dealing with a U-processor whose TDP level does not exceed 15 W.
It is TDP that “strangles” the frequency of low-voltage processors. Thus, the Core i5-8265U installed in the Lenovo IdeaPad L340 in Adobe Premier Pro resets the frequency from 3.7 to 2.4 GHz - we see that Turbo Boost technology works, but not at full strength. At the same time, the cooling system fully copes with its task - the maximum processor temperature did not exceed 80 degrees Celsius. The maximum noise level, measured from a distance of 30 cm, was 41 dBA - the laptop is audible under load, but this is quite a good result when comparing the IdeaPad, for example, with mobile gaming systems.
The laptop's GPU does not heat up above 63 degrees Celsius when executing work scenarios.
Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15
The rating of Lenovo laptops includes the IdeaPad 3 15, which received a 10th generation Intel Core i3/i5 processor with 2/4 cores, 4/8 GB of RAM with the potential for upgrading to 12 GB and an integrated UHD Graphics G1 video core. Unlike other budget options, the hero of our review received a large 15.6-inch monitor with FHD resolution, made using IPS technology. A brightness reserve of 250 cd/m2 in combination with an anti-reflective coating allows you to comfortably use it even on a sunny day. There are 3 USB ports and an additional 2.5” bay.
The IdeaPad 3 can handle most professional and everyday tasks, including playing 4K videos. Among the advantages is the low weight - 1.85 kg and the small thickness of the plastic case (20 mm). It has a built-in 35 Wh battery that lasts up to 7.5 hours without recharging. By the way, it is fast - 80% in an hour. The web camera is covered with a curtain, and the TPM 2.0 cryptographic module is used to securely encrypt all user data.
Pros:
- Good matte IPS matrix;
- Comfortable keyboard;
- Fast SSD;
- Powerful and cool chipset;
- Quiet cooling;
- Free slot for RAM;
- Impeccable assembly;
- The built-in graphics are sufficient for undemanding games;
- Card reader.
Minuses:
- The keyboard is not backlit;
- Quiet sound;
- Few ports.
⇡#Conclusions
Obviously, when buying an inexpensive laptop, you will have to put up with certain compromises that some users consider critical and others do not. The tested model has a good foundation: the 4-core Core i5-8265U and GeForce MX110 are quite enough to perform most home tasks. At the same time, for some reason, the manufacturer decided to equip all basic models with only 4 GB of RAM - in 2021, this amount turns out to be enough (with some reservations) only for web surfing, watching videos and working with office applications. In our opinion, the basic version of the Lenovo IdeaPad L340 should have been made with 8 GB of RAM. So here's some advice: take an 8 GB memory module with your laptop - now you can buy it for 1,500-2,000 rubles.
In addition, the advantages of the hero of the review include the efficient and not very noisy operation of the cooling system and sufficient functionality, as well as the ability to upgrade the laptop. The disadvantages are the display based on a TN matrix. Whether such a screen suits you or not is better to find out for yourself before purchasing.
Lenovo Ideapad 330 15
The TOP of Lenovo laptops includes the Ideapad 330 15 - another budget model with a 15.6-inch display, which can be recommended for work, multimedia functions and simple games. Depending on the chosen modification, the device belongs to the basic or mid-price category. The laptop is made in a beautiful plastic case with a matte structure, dimensions 38x26x23 mm and weight 2.2 kg. It has a built-in small battery that lasts for 6-8 hours without recharging.
There are many equipment options to suit every taste and budget. The top options even have discrete graphics - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 4 GB or AMD Radeon R4/530. In combination with Intel Core i3 and i5 chipsets of the 7th/8th generation or AMD Ryzen, we get good potential for games. Of course, you can’t dream of top-end graphics, but almost all projects with comfortable FPS will run on minimum settings. Everything is good with RAM - initially it is 8 GB, but can be expanded up to 20 GB.
The monitor is not the most outstanding. It is made using TN+film technology, operates in FHD resolution with a 15.6-inch diagonal and has a low brightness level - up to 200 cd/m2, so it will be comfortable to use only indoors. On a sunny day the picture fades. There is a good webcam with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels, a built-in card reader, and access to the network will be fast due to support for Wi-Fi 5 and a gigabit LAN port.
Pros:
- The operating system just flies;
- Works quietly;
- The opening angle is almost 180 degrees;
- You can add HDD or SSD;
- One of the best options in its price category in terms of price-quality ratio;
- Sound volume;
- Easy;
- The amount of RAM is easily expandable up to 20 GB;
- Discrete graphics;
- Nice keyboard;
- Fast battery charging - 80% in 60 minutes.
Minuses:
- Low brightness level;
- Weak display viewing angles;
- No keyboard backlight;
- Short charging cord.

⇡#Display and sound
All Lenovo IdeaPad L340 are equipped with TN matrices, but further options are possible: if in our modification it is a copy with Full HD resolution, then even more budget models use a display with a resolution of 1366 × 768 pixels. The test sample has a BOE CQ NT156FHM-N61 matrix installed - and it is immediately clear that this is a TN panel. As soon as you look at it even from a slight angle, the image instantly degrades: the brightness visually decreases, the color temperature changes and the already low contrast drops.
|
|
|
In terms of white luminance, the display only reaches 200 cd/m2 (minimum brightness is 2 cd/m2). The screen also has a low contrast level of 229:1, a gamma of 2.27 that is slightly higher than the target for the sRGB (2.2) standard, and an extremely high color temperature. All this is noticeable without using a colorimeter. Color rendition is unrealistic, since deviations both in the gray scale and in the ColorChecker 24 test seriously exceed the acceptable limits: the average is 25.07, and the maximum is 37.66. At the same time, the color gamut is noticeably smaller than the sRGB standard - the display shows a frankly faded picture. The average deltaE deviation was 10.75, and the maximum was 18.27. What’s gratifying is that the manufacturer himself warns in advance on the product page that the coverage of the sRGB color space in the Lenovo IdeaPad L340 displays does not exceed 45%.
Among the advantages of the matrix, we note the absence of a PWM effect at all brightness levels.
Obviously, a laptop costing less than 40,000 rubles uses a matrix of far from outstanding quality, and the vast majority of similar models have a screen that is not very different. For those who often watch movies and work with all kinds of graphic editors, it is better not to recommend the test model with a TN matrix. In any case, we strongly recommend looking at the Lenovo IdeaPad L340 in person before purchasing, because the display is the most important component of any laptop.
The volume reserve of the speakers in the hero of today's review is not very high - you can only watch YouTube videos at maximum volume if you sit next to your laptop. But the Lenovo IdeaPad L340 at the maximum level has no wheezing or other artifacts. As for playing music, don’t expect revelations from this model; use headphones or external acoustics for this kind of activity.
