Choosing in-ear headphones from Aliexpress: 10 models that I personally tested

It's finally time to talk about the most successful in-ear headphones that I've come across lately. Highlight their features, point out the nuances, and, of course, briefly outline the nature of their sound.

All of these models were just recently or are still in my hands, so I had the pleasure of not only listening to them carefully on different sources, but also comparing them with each other by sequential switching.

I've been asked many times for this collection, let's get started.

Headphones KZ ZAS

KZ ZAS are probably the first headphones from the almost budget segment, which personally aroused my special respect. The model is based on one dynamic and as many as seven reinforcement radiators, and at the same time everything is stitched together in such a way that there are no joints or dips in the sound. Rather, on the contrary, the sound is natural, solid, rich, with simply excellent depth and intelligibility for its price.

Unlike all previous experiments, KZ finally abandoned that excessive sharpness at the top and transparent, but somehow flimsy mids. Now everything is fat, juicy and very musical.

To be honest, I can’t remember anything better at this price. Moreover, they finally installed a suitable cable for us. The model has only one drawback - the shortened attachments included in the kit are simply disgusting - they must be replaced.

Headphones GS Audio SD3

All headphones from GS Audio have a rather dense, juicy body and a fat, fleshy middle. In the SD3 model, in my opinion, the low frequencies are prepared quite interestingly; the speaker and proprietary woofer from Knowles are responsible for them, which is why the bass is both deep and quite textured.

But there is also a small drawback: two simultaneously operating emitters blur this part of the range a little. Although, on the other hand, this union gives such a special velvety sound. Well, the no less serious emitter from Sonion 23-series is responsible for the middle. Because of this, the bass simply superbly grows into the midrange frequencies, and those, in turn, smoothly fade away in the upper frequencies.

The expressiveness of the model is at some simply cosmic level, and the basis has a clear, monolithic foundation.

AudioSense DT300 headphones

The fully reinforced 3-driver AudioSense DT300 model is based on three proprietary drivers from Knowles and comes with several types of ear pads, some of which make the sound more juicy and rich, while others make it light and airy. So initially we have plenty to choose from.

The model has only one drawback, in my opinion, and that is the insufficient amount of sub-bass. It is, of course, felt, but barely, and this is quite normal for purely reinforcement headphones.

Well, as a wish, for this model it is better to select sources with good output power, which is why the sound is shaped and becomes, in the right sense, rougher and harsher.

I would consider the strengths of the model to be good texture rendering, saturation and a fairly high natural sound quality.

Headphones ToneKing Flame41

For those who simply adore bold, deep sound with an emphasis on the lower half of the range, there is such a model as the ToneKing Flame41.

A dynamic driver is responsible for the bass here, and as many as four reinforcement drivers are responsible for the mids and highs.

One of the disadvantages is that the supplied ear pads must be replaced. In my opinion, there is absolutely nothing more to complain about here. Although, based on the nature of their sound, the highs are felt as if they were a separate layer. This harmonizes the presentation well, but they are here more for balance and air, and the most delicious thing happens in the lower mids and bass.

These kind ears are for those who need not only deep and rich, but also quite detailed. I personally have never seen analogues of such tuning; the sound is very rich and at the same time natural.

Yanyin Aladdin Headphones

Yanyin Aladdin are almost perfectly made headphones with record low distortion and a simply amazingly calibrated frequency response curve. In which everything is clear, like in a pharmacy, that is, all the necessary areas are raised, but just a little bit. That’s why the bass here is normal, and everything is fine with expressiveness and technicality. Almost universal headphones, capable of playing some heavy music or jazz, as well as clearly depicting an orchestra, with all its depth and other features.

As for the filling, a dynamic driver is responsible for the bass, there are two reinforced mid-frequency drivers in the middle, and one separate radiator draws the highs for us. However, the latter were pressed quite hard here.

I would describe Aladdin's sound as mid-range. Since it is the mid frequencies that are taken as the basis here and everything is built around them.

I would put the Veedix Diamond String as the main counterweight to Yanyin Aladdin; they are equivalent in level and very similar in drawing the auditory canvas, but are quite different in their tuning. Diamond String concentrates us not on the middle, but on the upper part of the mid and high frequencies. In them it is simply delightful to listen to all sorts of decays of string instruments and subtle modulations of percussion.

The model is based on one dynamic and four reinforcement emitters. The tuning, in my opinion, is not entirely classical, but it is aimed at good, deep bass and excellent expressiveness and intelligibility of mid frequencies.

For those who prefer excellent detail, richness and at the same time simply excellent processing of all sorts of high-frequency echoes.

Yanyin Canon Headphones

The Yanyin company, in addition to the same Aladdin, also has an older Canon model. Comparing them, I admit, makes no sense at all. Well, except that Canon is tonally warmer, but the older version is much more natural, richer, more detailed and better in terms of conveying micronuances. No wonder they have such a serious price gap.

This model is based on one dynamic and four balanced emitters and, in addition, has additional tuning capabilities. On the back there are three levers for adjusting bass, mid and high frequencies. That is, these headphones can be very easily adjusted to your own needs. For example, I adjusted the high frequencies to suit my taste - it’s much more comfortable for me to listen to.

Simply amazing headphones, Yanyin obviously knows a lot about sound.
