Appearance

The iLife V55 robot has an almost perfect round shape with a slightly protruding bumper.

View from above

The model is presented in two colors: light gold and white. At the front there is an LED display and touch buttons.

Using the “Push” button, the lid opens, under which there is a garbage container and an IR sensor.

Side view

To protect the device from damage during collisions, a rubberized bumper is attached to the front of the robot.

Obstacle detection sensors are also installed along it. In front of solid obstacles, the robot slows down its movement. On one side there is an on/off button and a connector for charging from the network.

Bottom view

On the bottom of the iLife V55 there are:

  • two side brushes for collecting debris;
  • swivel roller;
  • terminals for charging from the base;
  • a cover under which the battery compartment is located;
  • suction port;
  • two driving wheels;
  • height difference detection sensors;
  • compartment for installing containers.

The microfiber is fixed with Velcro on a special panel that is attached to the bottom of the robot.

Functionality

The iLife V55 robot vacuum cleaner is capable of cleaning a room in the following modes:

  • auto;
  • effective cleaning of a certain area of the room from stains (local/local cleaning);
  • cleaning corners and along walls.

Thanks to the function of setting the robot start time (timer), you can program the vacuum cleaner to clean the room at any time convenient for you.

Floor cleaning

In addition to dry cleaning, the robot vacuum cleaner is capable of wet wiping the floor. To do this, the components include a separate water tank, which is inserted instead of a dust collector for solid debris and dust, as well as a special module with a removable nanofiber cloth with Velcro.

One of the features of the iLife V55 is the presence of two suction modes: main and maximum. The main mode is designed for light cleaning with a low noise level, and with the maximum mode, the robot will clean the floor more thoroughly, but the noise level will be higher.

In order to spatially limit the area of movement of the vacuum cleaner during operation, it is necessary to install a virtual wall included in the delivery package.

Virtual wall operation

The device is oriented in space thanks to built-in infrared sensors against collisions with obstacles, as well as thanks to anti-fall sensors located on the bottom of the device. Additional protection against impacts and collisions is provided by a soft, movable bumper.

Operating rules, modes

The robot comes with instructions in Russian. It describes the design of the iLife V55 vacuum cleaner, provides rules for use, safety requirements, technical specifications, possible problems and other information.

Before turning on for the first time, turn on the vacuum cleaner using the main button at the bottom of the device (position I), and charge it directly from the mains overnight. The inscription “Full” indicates that the battery is fully charged.

The user manual describes the rules for preparing the floor covering for the iLife V55 vacuum cleaner:

  • remove ceramic and other fragile items;
  • wipe wet areas of the floor dry;
  • remove soft thick carpets and carpets with fringes;
  • close doors to rooms that do not require cleaning;
  • limit access to cables, pet dishes, toys with a virtual wall or large hard objects;
  • remove objects in which the robot can get stuck and get tangled in brushes (towels, slippers, cords, etc.).

Control is carried out using buttons on the case itself or the remote control.

Several cleaning modes are available to the user:

  • auto;
  • in a spiral (for a particularly contaminated area);
  • along the walls;
  • turbo.

The user can manually control the robot using the remote control by pressing the arrow buttons.

ILIFE V55 Pro is a decent robot vacuum cleaner with wet cleaning function

The ILIFE V55 Pro robot vacuum cleaner is one of the new products of 2021 from ILIFE, which is officially sold in Russia on Aliexpress in the TMALL store. This model, in addition to dry cleaning of hard floors (tiles, laminate, etc.), is also designed for simultaneous wet cleaning, which will appeal to connoisseurs of cleanliness and those who care about their health. In the review I will introduce you to this model, tell you how it behaves in a real situation, its features and, of course, sum up the results. ILIFE V55 Pro close up

The cat is not included in the package, please order separately.

Appearance and device.

ILIFE tries to diversify the appearance of its products and different models are almost always noticeably different. In this case, the robot is black with a glossy top, the body material is plastic. On the top side there is an indicator block with buttons and a dust collector compartment under a lid that opens upward.

The dust collector is made in the form of a drop-down case with two filters (coarse and fine) inside.

On the bottom side there are side brushes that pick up debris from the edges and bring it to the suction nozzle. The robot rests on 3 wheels, two large side drive wheels and a front driven wheel with white marks. This wheel can be removed with a rod holding it to allow quick cleaning of tangled hair and dust.

On the opposite side there is a place to install a container with water and a napkin holder.

The container is difficult to remove the first time, be careful not to break the fastening parts. The napkin with one edge with “pockets” is put on the holder, and the other is held tightly with Velcro. There is no doubt about the reliability.

On the sides, along the perimeter and in the bumper there are many sensors for obstacles and walls, covered with dark glass. At the front end there is a movable damping part with a rubber strip that protects furniture and the robot from impacts and scratches. There are also cliff sensors on the bottom part (so as not to fall from a ladder or hill). The results of measuring the dimensions with a tape measure coincided with those declared by the manufacturer.

Operation and features.

First, it’s worth talking about the functionality and differences of this model from other robots. The ILIFE company itself positions this model as an inexpensive device for apartments and houses with hard flooring. I would not recommend using it in places where there are carpets or not letting it into rooms with carpeting; the ILIFE A40 model, which I reviewed a year ago, is ideal for these purposes; here is a comparison photo of both models and their kits.

In general, the design of robots is typical. A brushless motor is used, it is economical and quite quiet in operation and at the same time provides high suction power up to 1000 Pa in maximum operating mode. In general, the robot is capable of operating in several modes: Automatic

- standard operating mode for everyday cleaning, normal suction power, vacuums all available space, periodically changing to other cleaning modes that are necessary, in its opinion, which is shown on the display.

Along the borders

- or you can call it “along the perimeter”, in this mode the robot moves along the walls, cleaning especially carefully near the baseboards and in the corners, under the furniture. Can be used when dust has accumulated and you need to go through the corners more carefully.

Spot

- allows you to clean a specific area on the floor, for example where something was spilled. The robot begins cleaning from the center of the desired area, moving in a circle and gradually increasing the radius. A convenient mode when you need to quickly tidy up a specific place.

MAX

— maximum suction power, useful, for example, when cleaning heavily soiled floors with a scattering of heavy debris.

Zigzag

- or you can say “snake”, the robot methodically cleans the floor without repetitions or omissions; thanks to the built-in gyroscope, it calculates its path and does not stray from it even when avoiding obstacles.

After finishing cleaning the available space in the “Zigzag” mode, the robot, without waiting for the battery to run out, goes to the base station, notifying about this event with an inscription.

This is a very effective way of cleaning, fast and quite intelligent.

During charging, the robot shows the battery charge level with 4 units (sticks), approximately corresponding to 0-25-50-100%; upon completion of charging, the inscription FULL is displayed.

Using the remote control, you can control the robot like a radio-controlled toy; it is not necessary to drag the robot to the cleaning site; the vacuum cleaner can, with the help of your commands, independently reach the desired position.

Practical use

Well, now you can proceed directly to using the robot in a real environment. In the process of life of any family, of course, garbage is generated, especially a lot if there are also small children and pets. My personal opinion is that in such circumstances, a robot vacuum cleaner is simply irreplaceable. If you prefer to live in constant cleanliness, then today a better device for these purposes has not yet been invented (perhaps except for a housekeeper). The process of preparing the robot for work looks simple - a charged robot with a cleaned dust collector, a filled water container and with an attached napkin for wet cleaning (of course, you can do without wet cleaning) is started by lightly pressing the remote control button. If necessary, you can set the cleaning limit for the virtual wall block and select a more suitable mode. And that’s it, the robot does its job.

And the result of cleaning in the container

It’s probably worth taking a closer look at wet cleaning. ILIFE V55 Pro is one of the few inexpensive robots that is capable of performing wet cleaning at the same time as dry cleaning. When moving across the floor, the robot wipes the floor with a constantly moistening cloth, picking up the smallest particles with microfiber, leaving a slightly damp floor behind. The napkin is constantly pressed to the floor due to the spring-loaded napkin holder. The effect of wet cleaning is actually noticeable and visible, I took a few photos on purpose

After cleaning, the napkin must be washed.

The kitchen was also cleaned on the tiled floor. The robot boldly rolled under the kitchen unit, swallowing all the crumbs and wool, leftover animal food, etc. The kitchen floor is a difficult place for the robot, but it wipes it, leaving a clean, wet trail behind it, keeping it clean.

Of course, if you dump the mess on the floor and force the robot to clean up, then it will take longer to wash the robot than the floor, so don’t allow such situations (well, jokes about crushed brown from our smaller brothers will of course come in handy :-). But housewives will appreciate that now there is nothing dragging behind the rag and under the set, chairs and table - garbage, wool and hair have been removed beforehand and washing has become much easier. The robot, bumping into the legs of tables and chairs, delicately cleans around them, moving along a radius. As practice has shown, there should be as few things as possible on the floor in an apartment, especially laces and rags; the robot can twist them onto the side brush, after which it will squeak pitifully calling for help. It is also worth removing wires from the floor and things that could change the height between the floor and furniture so as not to interfere with the robot.

With the first launch, I checked the operating time after a preliminary full charge. In total, the vacuum cleaner worked continuously for about 140 minutes, which is slightly more than the stated 120, and at the same time it managed to clean all 4 rooms. A very good and worthy indicator.

Unfortunately, this model is slightly higher, for example, when compared with the ILIFE A40, it is 1 cm, and in my case it no longer fits under the sofa, you will need to increase the height of the legs.

It is imperative to note (and use) the fact that the robot supports the work according to plan. Installs in just a few button presses. On the top side of the robot there is a PLAN button, by pressing it the time 00:00 will begin to flash, if you want the robot to start working in 1 hour 15 minutes, use the SPOT and HOME buttons to select the hours (01), then PLAN again and select the minutes (15). PLAN again and your robot will start working in 1:15 and will do this every day at the same time until you set it to 00:00 or turn off the robot's power using the switch on the bottom side.

After completing work or depleting the battery charge, the robot independently returns to the docking station to recharge, sometimes it wanders for a long time while getting out of distant rooms, but the result is always positive. But if you need to clean only part of the apartment, the kit includes a virtual wall block and the robot will complete the task in a limited area.

Some official information

Summarizing.

Based on the quality of cleaning, I can say that the robot copes with everyday cleaning perfectly and looks into every corner. If you are in principle thinking about buying a robot vacuum cleaner and doubt its necessity or benefits as such, then there is no need to doubt it, it is definitely useful and the money, if you are ready to allocate it in principle, will be well spent. You just need to understand that this device is not for washing floors or for cleaning up construction waste, for these purposes you need a large vacuum cleaner and manual cleaning, but for daily maintenance of cleanliness and health of family members, or if an allergy to dust interferes with life, this is an indispensable device and such an assistant is simply necessary.

Now ILIFE V55 Pro costs a little more than 9,000 rubles, which is relatively inexpensive for such capabilities. If there are no longer any doubts, then you just have to decide on the model, and this review should have helped with this, whether this model will suit you or not.

Regarding the ILIFE brand, it has established itself as producing high-quality, durable products. From my own experience, I was convinced of this with the ILIFE A40, which has been working for more than a year without a single problem and will soon be installed in the apartment of elderly parents, where it will clean the carpets, because... I removed my carpets completely.

I will list the pros and cons, starting with the pros:

+ Adequate price, not expensive for its capabilities + Gyroscopic navigation, zigzag cleaning mode - without skipping or repeating + High quality floor cleaning + Long operating time on one charge + Automatic charging + Cleaning at the appointed time according to plan, every day + Simultaneous installation of dust collector and water containers, double cleaning at a time + Low noise, does not interfere with watching TV and talking + Official guarantee and service in the Russian Federation

About warranty and service

To be honest, for such a price, ~9100 rubles, there are no drawbacks, but: - Unfortunately, it can’t scratch your heels :-(

Well, as a conclusion, I was very pleased with the result of using the ILIFE V55 Pro robot vacuum cleaner, I can definitely recommend it for purchase.

User reviews

Analysis of user reviews from online store sites allows us to draw conclusions about the iLife V55 robot model:

  1. Quality of cleaning. The model is relevant for hard surfaces. Excellent for regular cosmetic cleaning, it collects fur, hair and small debris well. Doesn't remove wool from carpet. Avoids places near the base.

  2. Life time. The answers are mixed. After a short time (1–12 months), the vacuum cleaner breaks down (does not respond to buttons or remote control, crashes into all obstacles, spins in one place). In other cases, the robot has been working properly for more than two years.
  3. Guarantee. In Russia, there are service centers only in Moscow and St. Petersburg. This makes diagnostics and repairs much more difficult. The required telephone numbers are indicated in the attached documentation. When purchasing on Aliexpress, sometimes sellers will accept the item back and refund the money.
  4. Wet cleaning. Not all users use this feature. High-quality cleaning of laminate and linoleum is noted. Water needs to be added approximately every 40 minutes. To ensure better cleaning, the microfiber must be washed several times as it gets dirty.
  5. Build quality. From the outside it looks like a reliable device. Inside there are thin wires and plastic, fragile connectors.
  6. Accessories. The set includes 2 replaceable side brushes, microfiber and a filter. Everything necessary for further replacement is available in Chinese online stores.

  7. Overcoming obstacles. Doesn't like light rugs, but often climbs onto a heavy rug without problems. Overcomes thresholds up to 2 cm.
  8. Pet reaction. Some cats and dogs are afraid, others do not react. It is noted that animals can turn on the vacuum cleaner and open the lid, since the buttons are very sensitive.
  9. Navigation. Due to the lack of a route map function, the vacuum cleaner may travel through the same place several times or skip some areas. Finds the base in the vast majority of cases, sometimes it can take a long time to search. Sometimes it does not detect dark-colored obstacles and does not cause damage.

Design

The shape of the vacuum cleaner is traditionally round, the surface is glossy. The robot is made of impact-resistant beige plastic. On top of the vacuum cleaner there is a dust compartment cover, control buttons and indicator lights. Obstacle and height difference sensors are installed around the perimeter of the structure and on the bottom of the device.

The reverse working side of the model is equipped with a pair of drive wheels and a swivel roller. The bottom also contains two side brushes, a battery compartment, a robot power button and contacts for charging the device on a stationary base. There is also a hole for suctioning debris and a mount for the washing unit.

The side panel is equipped with a grille for venting filtered clean air and a connector for charging the vacuum cleaner via an AC adapter. There is a bumper with a soft rubber insert on the front that protects the device parts and furniture from accidental collisions of the home assistant with furnishings.

Advantages and disadvantages

Based on reviews and reviews, we can highlight the advantages of the iLife V55 robot:

  1. Sufficient capacity of lithium-ion battery (2600 mAh).
  2. Double filtration system.
  3. Programming cleaning for every day.
  4. Control using a panel on the case and a remote control.

  5. Turbo mode.
  6. Possibility of step-by-step dry and wet cleaning.
  7. Average noise level.

Users evaluate the reliable packaging of the product and the availability of spare parts (brushes, filter and microfiber).

However, the disadvantages include:

  1. Small volume of dust collector.
  2. Long battery recharging time (4–5 hours).
  3. There is no “Zigzag” mode; in automatic mode it skips some places.

In addition, many note the inconvenience of setting cleaning schedules. The start delay can be set to 23 hours 45 minutes. Thus, each day cleaning begins 15 minutes earlier than the previous one.

Features of care

The model is particularly easy to use.

The main thing that should be noted is that the dust collector must be cleaned after each cleaning in order to avoid malfunctions and ensure high-quality cleaning.

Important! It is necessary to monitor the fullness of the water tank for wet cleaning, and it is advisable to wash a special cloth each time.

You should also avoid creating tasks for the robot vacuum cleaner such as, for example, a plate of porridge knocked over on the floor - it will take longer to wash the vacuum cleaner than the floor itself.
