How to choose a Samsung smartphone
Sometimes choosing a quality smartphone becomes a difficult task. In this case, the following rules may help:
- Screen. In this case, you need to decide on three secondary parameters: diagonal, matrix, resolution. The largest diagonal provides more convenient control of the device, but in terms of dimensions, accordingly, it becomes significantly larger. In the case of a matrix, I recommend taking a closer look at IPS, which is quite inexpensive and of high quality, or, if you have a decent budget, AMOLED. Display resolution directly affects image quality. For many, standard Full HD is enough, but for others, 4K is not enough. In general, everything here is purely individual.
- Camera. A good camera is a combination of both the technical and hardware parts of a smartphone. All flagships now have the best cameras with a bunch of modes and filters. It is important to pay attention to the maximum resolution of the camera (measured in megapixels) and the overall level of shooting.
- Memory. There are two types of memory: fast (RAM) and slow (built-in). If you like to shoot videos, take photos and download a lot of programs, then the ROM volume should not be lower than 64 GB. 3-4 GB of RAM is often enough (the phone works correctly and does not slow down). But if you plan, for example, to practice mobile gaming on your smartphone, then the RAM requirements increase sharply (at least 6 GB).
- CPU. The overall performance of the device depends on the processor. Of course, it is not always correct to compare smartphones precisely according to this criterion, because the number of cores, clock frequency, and production technology all play a role here. But know that the higher the numbers, the better.
- Battery. The battery capacity determines the maximum possible life of the smartphone without recharging. A good model from the mid-budget line has a rating of 3000-4500 mAh, which is enough for several hours of intensive work. In the era of the desire to “pump up” all characteristics, for example, in flagships, the battery capacity indicator can reach 8000 mAh.
- Additional features. Nowadays, almost everyone (even the most budget smartphone) is equipped with a contactless payment (NFC) function, which is very convenient. Most phones support the installation of 2 SIM cards, but there are also models with an expanded slot for up to 3-4 SIM cards. Also pay attention to the availability of wireless and fast charging, as well as the level of protection of the phone from external conditions (the minimum standard is IP65).

I don’t have any questions about the Fold3 screen - once you get used to it, you can quickly respond to instant messengers on the small screen and do everything you’re used to doing. Let me remind you that the diagonal of the external Dynamic-AMOLED screen is 6.2 inches, 120 Hz, and inside there is a 7.6-inch AMOLED display. The resolution of the internal display is 2208 × 1768 pixels, external - 2268 × 832 pixels. Externally, we have an ordinary smartphone with a slightly strange screen aspect ratio, but inside it really is a tablet, ideal for consuming movies, TikTok, Insta, books, comics, spreadsheets, documents in Word and any other formats.
By the way, some films, for example “The Lighthouse,” seem to be created for the Fold display - in principle, this applies to all old films. A reason to re-watch Hitchcock and Fellini.
The main thing is that I have been familiar with folding smartphones for several years now, but I still watch in fascination as the case opens and the thing turns into a tablet.

Cameras

Compared to Fold2, the camera block has not changed; in the operating experience I posted enough example photos - everything is great, no questions. Yes, I would like to see the capabilities of the S21 Ultra here, but believe me, the capabilities of the Fold3 are enough for anyone. The colors are traditional for Samsung - traditionally bright. Sometimes too much sharpness. Night pictures are not bad, video can and should be taken. Out of habit, I take photographs with the Fold closed, it seems more convenient to me. There are also some peculiarities when working with selfie cameras: the external one is more convenient to use for creating self-portraits, the internal one is more convenient for Zoom or calls in instant messengers, and for unlocking the display.

I love all the improvements to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 - no, the Fold2 is not an ugly duckling, but I can't wait to upgrade to the next generation. The improved film gives new sensations from working with a large screen, the OS features are pleasant, everything is smooth, smooth, it seems to be the same as it was, but there are also differences. A familiar design - but the same protection from water gives us many new scenarios.
As I already said, the prices are as follows: 159,990 rubles for the 256 GB version or 169,990 rubles for 512 GB. I think most will go the same route as me and choose the 512GB version. Well, if you decide to save money, spend these ten thousand on branded accessories. This includes the S Pen, the case, and branded Galaxy Buds Live headphones, for example.
