Recently, data on user interests in smartphones was published. The rating is interesting from two points of view. Firstly, based on it you can get an idea of the models sold in Russia. Secondly, one can understand how heterogeneous the demand for modern communications is. Let's look at this list and understand why this happened.
More good and different smartphones!
ASUS Zenfone Max Pro (M2)
Price: 14,800 rubles
The ranking of the most popular smartphones of 2021 in Russia and the world opens with a budget model from ASUS, which boasts an affordable price, a powerful battery, an NFC chip and a number of other interesting features. The new product is equipped with a large 6.3-inch IPS display with FullHD resolution, which is a pleasure to watch movies or scroll through social media feeds. But the main trump card that ensured the popularity of this model is the 5000 mAh battery, which is enough for a couple of days of active use without recharging.
The Snapdragon 660 processor is responsible for performance, which is supported by 4 GB of RAM. It runs most games on medium-high graphics. Internal memory – 64 GB with expandable capacity via MicroSD. Double camera. It includes a 12 and 5 megapixel sensor (f/1.8 and f/2.4 aperture, respectively).

Minuses:

Huawei Honor 8X
Price: 14,500 rubles
Honor 8X is considered the best smartphone in the world in its price category, so it is not surprising that it has become one of the best-selling and most popular in the company's history. At a price just above 10,000 rubles, we are offered a model with a bright design, which received 89% of recommendations for purchase on Y. Market.
The achievement of success was facilitated not only by the low price, but also by excellent characteristics - a frameless screen with a diagonal of 6.5 inches - the largest in the Honor line. There is a fingerprint scanner, an NFC chip, which is so lacking in state employees from competitors, and a face unlock function. Memory volumes are standard - 4/64 GB, and good performance is provided by the proprietary HiSilicon Kirin 710 processor. The 3750 mAh battery is enough for 1-1.5 days of active use. All this is accompanied by a high-quality dual camera and a bright design, which made the Huawei smartphone a best-seller in 2021.
Pros:
- Separate slot for MicroSD;
- Original design;
- Great cameras;
- Performance and autonomy;
- There is NFC;
- Price.
Minuses:
- MicroUSB;
- There is no stabilization when recording video.

Honor 10 Lite also turned out to be popular. No wonder: great price, cool appearance, unusual body colors, decent characteristics (for the price, of course).
Honor 10 Lite has a fairly large 6.21-inch display with a high resolution of 2340×1080 pixels, a dual main camera, NFC, a proprietary HiSilicon Kirin 710 chipset, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory. Of course, there is a fingerprint sensor and face unlock. Battery capacity - 3400 mAh.

Xiaomi Pocophone F1
Price: 20,000 rubles
Xiaomi Poco F1 is the cheapest flagship in the world with a Snapdragon 845 processor, which amazes with its performance and capabilities, but at the same time costs around 20,000 rubles. It is equipped with a 6.18-inch screen, 64/6 GB of memory and a 4000 mAh battery. What's missing is an NFC chip, but the smartphone makes an ideal gift for a gamer. It can handle any game and is one of the 10 most powerful phones in the world, making it an ideal choice in terms of price/quality ratio.
Pros:
- The cheapest smartphone with Snapdragon 845;
- Improved cooling;
- Decent screen and cameras;
- Autonomy.
Minuses:
- Navigation is slow;
- Plastic case.
Xiaomi Redmi 7 3/32GB
Xiaomi Redmi 7, one of the budget models of the Chinese company, is also in great demand.
Externally, Redmi 7 is similar to Redmi Note 7, but these are completely different devices. For example, the back cover in this case is made of plastic, the resolution of the 6.26-inch smartphone is relatively low (1520x720 pixels), and the processor used is a not so powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 632. But the battery capacity is completely the same - 4000 mAh.
In general, Redmi 7 is simpler than the older model, but at the same time cheaper.
- Screen diagonal: 6.26 inches
- Screen resolution: 1520×720
- Weight: 180 g
- Number of SIM cards: 2
- Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 632
- Memory capacity: 32 GB
- RAM capacity: 3 GB
- Battery capacity: 4000 mAh
- Rear camera: dual 12/2 MP
- Front camera: 8 MP
- Memory card support: yes
OnePlus 6T
Price: 33,500 rubles.
It was not in vain that OnePlus 6T was included in the ranking of the most popular smartphones in Russia and the world, because it absorbed all the current trends and received top-end characteristics, but at the same time it costs almost half the price of flagships from A-brands. In the new model, the diagonal of the AMOLED display was increased to 6.41 inches, and the “unibrow” that disgusted many users was replaced by a miniature cutout at the top. It allowed the screen to take up more usable space, but did not in any way affect the comfort of working with the phone.
Out of the box, the gadget runs on Android 9.0 and is currently one of the most powerful in the world. This is facilitated by the use of the Snapdragon 845 processor, which is complemented by 6 or 8 GB of RAM, as well as a well-optimized proprietary shell. Internal memory can be 128 or 256 GB. The model also made it into the rating thanks to its larger battery – 3700 mAh versus 3300 mAh for the OnePlus 6.
The fingerprint scanner is no longer on the back, but built directly into the screen. The dual camera uses the same Sony IMX 519 and Sony IMX 376 sensors with a resolution of 16 and 20 megapixels, but the overall DxOMark rating has increased to 101 points for photography and 91 for video. This is thanks to improved algorithms and artificial intelligence.
Pros:
- AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch on top;
- Fast interface and top-end hardware;
- Good photo quality;
- In-screen scanner;
- Design;
- Good autonomy.
Minuses:
- The fingerprint scanner does not work well in cold weather.
Xiaomi Mi A2
Price: 12,000
The smartphone turned out to be extremely successful due to the price of just over 10,000 rubles and pure Android, which opens up a huge choice for Xiaomi fans, because no matter how functional the MIUI shell is, not everyone likes it. This is a good, but inexpensive smartphone, made in a metal case. It received a large frameless screen with a diagonal of 6 inches, 64/4 GB of memory and a 3010 mAh battery.
The latter has become perhaps the weakest point of the phone; with active use, it may not survive until the end of the day, but fast charging technology helps out here. At the back there is a vertical dual camera, which is one of the best for its price. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor cannot be called the most powerful on the market, but it is reliable and runs most games at medium/high graphics.
Pros:
- Performance;
- Cameras;
- Price;
- Pure Android.
Minuses:
- No NFC and 3.5mm jack;
- The battery is only 3010 mAh.
Xiaomi Mi 9T 6/64GB
As far as we know, the recent new product from Xiaomi, the Mi 9T, is also in good demand. It is interesting for its low cost (of course, relative to direct competitors), a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 processor and 6 GB of RAM in this version, a retractable front camera, as well as very unusual colors.
It is also worth noting a very decent camera, NFC of course, a 4000 mAh battery with fast charging, and an in-screen fingerprint sensor.
- Screen diagonal: 6.39 inches
- Screen resolution: 2340×1080
- Weight: 191 g
- Number of SIM cards: 2
- Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 730
- Memory capacity: 64 GB
- RAM capacity: 6 GB
- Battery capacity: 4000 mAh
- Rear camera: triple 48/8/13 MP
- Front camera: 20 MP
- Memory card support: yes
Huawei Honor 10
Price: 21,400 rubles
This is one of the most popular smartphones in the range of the Chinese brand, which captivates with its bright design, good cameras and battery life, which is complemented by an affordable price of around 20,000 rubles. The phone has a frameless screen with a diagonal of 5.84 inches, which makes it really compact and easy to operate even with one hand, which is a rarity in 2021. The display itself is high quality. It produces bright and natural colors, and is pleasant to work with even in sunny weather. The proprietary HiSilicon Kirin 970 processor is responsible for performance, which is complemented by 4 or 6 GB of RAM. The system has enough power for any task, including games. The main camera is dual - 16 and 24 megapixels. It allows you to count on good results under any conditions.
Pros:
- Bright and original design;
- Good characteristics;
- Sound and autonomy;
- Cameras.
Minuses:
- The camera AI often makes mistakes with settings.
Top 10 of all smartphones
First place: Xiaomi Redmi Note 7
Just like last month, the top smartphone for 16,000 rubles is in first place. Most often they buy the version with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage.

Second place: Samsung Galaxy A50
At the beginning of the month, the Galaxy A50 ranked third among the most popular smartphones in Russia, but continues to move forward purposefully. This is a balanced smartphone, and I would choose it when compared with Xiaomi, because the brand dictates.

Third place: Apple iPhone XR
It looks like this year the iPhone XR will continue to occupy a leading position: the price has become even nicer, the iPhone 11 has not received any significant differences, and the XR is still a top-end smartphone.

Fourth place: Xiaomi Redmi 7
I would call it an ideal smartphone for a grandma or a schoolchild because it is an affordable phone with a large screen. Grandma will be able to see everything, and it will be convenient for the schoolchild to play with toys. The smartphone also has good battery life and costs around 9,000 rubles.

Seventh place: Samsung Galaxy A10
Galaxy A10 is the choice of those who are not chasing top-end specifications or a 48 megapixel camera. Buyers of this smartphone need calls, social networks, and YouTube to watch. The phone can be found for 8,000 rubles, if not cheaper.

Eighth place: Samsung Galaxy S10e
This is a “small flagship” with top-end characteristics for 35,000 rubles. It seems to me that it’s an excellent competitor to the iPhone XR, if you don’t like iOS and have a bit of a budget cut.

Ninth place: Xiaomi Redmi Note 7
Lagging behind the leader Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 by 6/64 GB, the ninth place is occupied by a “simpler” version: 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. The price of the smartphone is 12,000 rubles.
Tenth place: Samsung Galaxy A70
In my opinion, the most uninteresting smartphone from the entire selection: it costs about 21,000 rubles and does not particularly stand out. This is the case when it is better to take Xiaomi.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9
Price: 44,950 rubles
The flagship from ]Samsung[/anchor] has a very interesting feature - a functional stylus, which is convenient when working with graphics and text, and also allows you to remotely control the smartphone camera. Otherwise, this is a typical flagship of 2021, which is distinguished by a large frameless screen, a good camera and a powerful 4000 mAh battery. The only difference is that in Russia Galaxy Note 9 is sold only on the Exynos processor, which is inferior in performance to the Snapdragon 845.
Pros:
- Powerful filling;
- Design;
- Large and bright screen without a cutout on top;
- Functional stylus;
- Autonomy;
- Some of the best cameras.
Minuses:
- A small fingerprint scanner, which is difficult to get to the first time.
Xiaomi Mi Max 3
Price: 15,000 rubles
If we talk about the most popular smartphones in China in 2019, then we can’t forget about Mi Max 3 - a real phablet with a 6.9-inch diagonal and a 5500 mAh battery. Such characteristics make it possible to go a long time without recharging, even with such a large screen. This is the best choice for those who like to watch movies on their phone or play games, because doing it on such a display is a pleasure. Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor, has 64/4 GB of memory and a good dual camera. The only thing against buying it may be the lack of an NFC chip and the immodest dimensions of the case.
Pros:
- Screen with a diagonal of 6.9 inches;
- Good dual camera;
- 5500 mAh battery;
- AI support;
- 4 or 6 GB of RAM standard LPDDR4X;
- There is an infrared port and a 3.5 mm jack.
Minuses:
- The case is quite large, so it will not suit everyone;
- No NFC.
Xiaomi Redmi 7A 2/32GB
It is not surprising that the Xiaomi Redmi 7A is in demand - it is very inexpensive, but has almost everything you need.
The first thing worth noting is the design - yes, the smartphone does not stand out in any way, but at the same time it looks very good, just like a much more expensive model could look like. It uses a 5.45-inch display with a resolution of 1440x720 pixels, a fresh 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chip, 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of ROM (for the specified version). Separately, we would like to highlight a powerful battery with a capacity of 4000 mAh, and also - this is extremely rare in this class - protection against splashes, but specifically from splashes, and not from water - do not confuse it.
There is no fingerprint sensor, but face unlocking is supported.
- Screen diagonal: 5.45 inches
- Screen resolution: 1440×720
- Weight: 165 g
- Number of SIM cards: 2
- Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 439
- Memory capacity: 32 GB
- RAM capacity: 2 GB
- Battery capacity: 4000 mAh
- Rear camera: 13 MP
- Front camera: 5 MP
- Memory card support: yes
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5
Price: 10,000 rubles
Xiaomi's budget smartphone made it into the top 10 most popular smartphones in terms of price and quality thanks to the best characteristics in its price category. The manufacturer managed to offer a high-quality screen with a diagonal of 5.99 inches and an aspect ratio of 18:9, a capacious 4000 mAh battery and good dual cameras with a resolution of 12 megapixels and f/1.8 aperture. All this is offered to us at a price just above 10,000 rubles. Many will be pleased that the model lacks the unibrow that appeared in the Redmi Note 6. The Snapdragon 636 processor combined with 3 or 4 GB of RAM provides a decent level of performance. Internal memory - 32 or 64 GB. It doesn’t seem like much, but if necessary, you can install MicroSD.
Pros:
- Convenient ergonomics of the case;
- Good FullHD display;
- Photo quality;
- Autonomy;
- Quite a powerful processor.
Minuses:
- No NFC;
- MicroUSB port.
