Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 2

Sennheiser's flagship TWS headphones, the MOMENTUM True Wireless 2, is one of the wireless headphones with excellent sound. They are loud, bassy, and at the same time convey melodies clearly and with a sense of volume and stage. They also received protection from splashes, and the active noise reduction function helps cut out unnecessary sounds.

The headphones have 7mm dynamic drivers and feature full codec support. SBC, AAC, aptX are present, and Bluetooth 5.1 is responsible for stable communication quality. Autonomy is at a decent level: about 5.5 hours with active noise cancellation and about 7 hours without it.

The headphones support touch control; if desired, the actions can be changed in the headphone settings in the Smart Control application. The carrying case is quite large, but has a pleasant fabric covering.

The best Sennheiser headphones

Probably no other brand of audio equipment has such an abundance of different types of headphones.

Sennheiser's range includes wired and wireless models: for home TV corners and stage performances, for professional sound work and just listening to music on the road or on the street.

In each category there are headphones of different levels. But the fact that any of them will play crystal clear is beyond doubt. It's Sennheiser!

Sennheiser HD 560S

For music lovers

The manufacturer positions full-size headphones with an open acoustic design as an audiophile model. They really make any musical genre sound luxurious.

Reasons to buy:

  • Beautiful, natural sound;
  • Very comfortable thanks to velor ear pads;
  • Light weight - 240 g;
  • Versatility;
  • Low price for “audiophiles”.

Large wired headphones are designed for use at home (or in any other relatively quiet room). They unfold a wide musical stage in front of the listener, delighting with high detail. The frequency range covers 6 – 38,000 Hz.

The headphones sound much more expensive than they cost. They have an elastic bass that does not turn into a drone, a natural midrange and well-developed highs - all this is carefully verified and balanced. This accessory will be equally good for listening to music of any genre and for watching movies.

The headphones are connected via a wire with a 6.3 mm TRS connector, but the kit includes an adapter for the more common mini-jack. The detachable cable is quite long - 3 meters. The impedance of the “ears” is not prohibitive - 120 Ohms, so they are suitable for most home multimedia systems and many portable players.

Sennheiser IE 800s

Perfect sound

Expensive wired in-ear headphones are created using patented Sennheiser technology. Thanks to her, it was possible to achieve impeccable monitor sound even from such tiny ones.

Reasons to buy:

  • Hi-Res sound and powerful bass;
  • Undemanding to the source (impedance 16 Ohms);
  • Reliable and durable design;
  • Manual assembly;
  • Convenient storage case.

A wired model with a permanent cord can connect to 3.5 mm and 2.5 mm outputs (for the second case, you will have to buy an adapter separately). Monolithic ceramic enclosures are complemented by bass reflex holes, which not only relieve excess pressure, but also provide rich and at the same time clear bass.

Unique wideband dynamic drivers - Sennheiser's own design. They managed to reduce sound distortion to a vanishing minimum and achieve impressive frequency response: the range of this model is 5 – 46500 Hz with a standard membrane diameter of 1 cm.

The sound of the headphones is impeccable and will please even capricious music lovers who are fond of analyzing compositions. At the same time, the model is not too demanding on the source and performs well even when paired with a regular smartphone. Well, owners of advanced players will be able to fully enjoy their luxurious sound.

Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless

Premium over-ear headphones

Momentum 3 smart headphones are made from the best materials. They have a metal headband and genuine leather on the lining and ear pads. The model comes with a stylish and thick zippered case.

Reasons to buy:

  • Wireless and wired connection in several ways;
  • Active noise cancellation;
  • Supports AAC, aptX and Low Latency to reduce transmission delays;
  • Premium manufacturing materials;
  • Folding design and adjustable cup tilt;
  • Availability of NFC.

The model has an extended frequency range of 6 - 22,000 Hz and high impedance (from 100 to 470 Ohms), which makes it necessary to look for a sufficiently powerful sound source with an amplifier for it. The headphones can work both via Bluetooth and wired, and it is possible to connect them to a 3.5 mm or USB-C output.

Momentum 3 has good battery life, reaching 17 hours with noise reduction turned on - the slider for it is located right on the cup. If necessary, you can enable audio transparency mode.

The Troika also copes well with the functions of the headset, unless it’s near a busy highway or in the subway - here the built-in microphones are not able to completely get rid of external noise.

The intelligent functions of the device are interesting. In addition to automatically turning on/off when folding the cups, the headphones can also independently pause playback at the command of the built-in proximity sensors.

A separate button calls up the voice assistant (it also serves to establish BT pairing). Additional settings and equalizer are available in the Sennheiser Smart Control mobile app.

Overall, the Momentums turned out to be incredibly comfortable, with excellent sound and well-functioning active noise reduction. Original design, two color options and premium quality, fast connection to devices with multipoint support - there is practically nothing to complain about here. These “ears” look, work and sound like the money.

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2

Universal TWS for calls and music

Another representative of the Momentum series - this time in the format of miniature TWS earbuds - will be an ideal choice for everyday use in the city.

Reasons to buy:

  • Active noise reduction that removes low and mid frequencies from the background;
  • Fast connection and stable connection via Bluetooth;
  • Clear and responsive control sensors;
  • Waterproof IPX4;
  • Comfortable fit in the ears.

The second revision of Momentum TWS is an improved version of the already well-proven first generation Sennheiser wireless headphones. The battery life has noticeably increased - now one charge for the earbuds lasts for 7 hours, and from the case they can be fully charged 3 more times. The model supports fast charging, which takes only a few minutes.

The headphones are controlled by gestures from the touch panels on the cases. Moreover, here you can assign your own functions for each touch and swipe. The sensors respond correctly to everything and give a minimum number of false positives. This version also features active noise reduction and audio transparency mode.

Optical sensors detect the location of the headphones in the ear and, if necessary, automatically pause or resume playing the track. Each droplet has its own light indicator that changes color - this helps to track pairing and charge level.

The frequency range is traditionally expanded to 5 – 21,000 Hz. But cool sound has always been the strength of Sennheisers. The bass here is rich and clear, in general, all frequencies are processed flawlessly.

What’s especially nice is that the headphones performed well as a telephone headset, accurately and clearly transmitting voice through external microphones even in noisy environments. The vacuum cleaners are supplied with a stylish textile-covered case.

Sennheiser IE 40 Pro

Professional headset for musicians

Miniature headphones were specially designed for concert performances by musicians and DJs. They produce honest and detailed sound at any volume level.

Reasons to buy:

  • Correct sound with clear separation of voices and instruments;
  • Flexible and movable ear hook;
  • Detachable, tangle-free cord;
  • A set of ear pads made of different materials.

In-ear headphones have a convenient housing design and a wired connection via mini jack. The cable here is removable, which allows you to replace it if necessary. True, for this you will need a proprietary cord from Sennheiser, since non-standard connectors are used here.

The transparent housings of the vacuum tubes hide broadband speakers with a diameter of 1 cm, eliminating any distortion. The sound of the model is verified and is ideal for monitoring and analyzing the music scene. Each instrument is clearly audible and does not overwhelm the others. But if the composition initially has high frequencies, this will be especially noticeable in the IE 40 Pro headphones.

Despite the professional orientation, the “ears” were also liked by ordinary buyers. Even from not the best sources, they are able to transmit beautiful sound. Of course, it will take some time to get used to the fit of the device. But the IE 40 Pro comes with silicone tips of different sizes and a pair of foam ear pads, which will make selection much easier.

Sennheiser HD 250BT

Model for every day

If you are not yet familiar with senheisers, this new product will “tell” you everything you need to know about the famous headphones. At the same time, the price of the model is quite reasonable, and the possibilities of use make it almost universal.

Reasons to buy:

  • Support for AAC, aptX codecs (including Low Latency);
  • 25 hours of autonomy;
  • Light weight;
  • High-quality conversational microphone;
  • Affordable price.

New from CES 2021, it offers wireless connectivity to any device via Bluetooth. On-ear headphones belong to the budget segment, but are built to last and are capable of providing high-quality sound with noticeable bass. And in the Smart Control program you can play with the equalizer settings.

The headband and cups are made of plastic. The design turned out to be light and at the same time quite durable due to the absence of unnecessary moving elements. Sennheiser has also released replacement ear pads for these headphones, which can be purchased separately.

Sennheiser Ambeo Headset

Mobile headset with 3D audio recording

Very unusual wired headphones serve not only as a headset for communicating and listening to music, but also allow iPhone owners to record three-dimensional sound.

Reasons to buy:

  • High quality microphones and recording;
  • Active noise reduction and audio transparency mode;
  • Fits securely on ears;
  • Convenient and functional control panel.

Wired in-ear headphones are designed for use with mobile devices equipped with a Lightning connector. The outer side of the cases is equipped with omnidirectional microphones with preamplifiers hidden behind metal grilles. They perceive sound oriented in three-dimensional space - just like human ears - and record it accordingly.

The headphones themselves require a tight fit in the ear canals. The soft ear mounts are comfortable and compensate for the weight of the rather large remote control on the wire. The headset is ideal for recording realistic video with high-quality audio both indoors and outdoors.

To control the “ears,” there are physical buttons for playlist, answering calls, noise reduction mode and recording. You can adjust and select settings in the mobile application - it also contains an equalizer for adjusting the sound to suit you.

Ambeo dynamic drivers cover a wide frequency range from 15 to 22,000 Hz. The sound of the tracks is pleasant, without distortions towards bass or treble - traditionally Sennheiser, clean and with a good volume reserve.

Sennheiser RS 175-U

For home TV zone

Large headphones with radio connection are aimed at use with home multimedia systems. These are equally great for watching movies or listening to music.

Reasons to buy:

  • Long range wireless connection;
  • Bass Boost mode;
  • Surround sound emulator;
  • All necessary cables included;
  • Possibility of system expansion.

Full-size wireless headphones play clearly and richly, and the Virtual Surround mode unfolds a wide musical stage in space. If desired, you can add bass, for example, if you are watching an action movie.

Thanks to the radio frequency connection, there is no lag between the track and the image on the screen; the signal reaches a distance of up to 100 m in the absence of obstacles and up to 30 m if there are any.

The autonomy for such large “ears” is not great, but it is quite sufficient for a home device - 18 hours. The kit includes a stand station that serves as a transmitter and charger. It can be connected to a digital system using an optical cable or use the standard 3.5mm analog audio output. If necessary, it will be easy to switch between them later.

You can connect another headphone labeled HDR 175 to the base. They are purchased separately, which allows you to complete the multimedia system if it will be used by two people at the same time.

Sennheiser GSP 370

The most battery-powered gaming headset

The mid-range wireless headset offers as much as 100 hours of battery life on a single charge. In terms of this indicator, it simply has no analogues, and its sound is simply excellent for a gaming model.

Reasons to buy:

  • Exorbitant autonomy indicators;
  • Relatively light weight (285 g);
  • Convenient adjustment of the position of the cups in three planes;
  • Directional microphone;
  • Well detailed sound and clear positioning.

Wireless monitors connect to a PC or PlayStation via radio using the included USB module. The headband is made of durable and at the same time flexible plastic that can be twisted and even bent a little without the risk of breaking.

The headphones turned out to be comfortable thanks to their light weight, fine adjustment and soft cushions on the rim and ear pads, covered with delicate Alcantara. The pads themselves are filled with memory foam.

The GSP 370 focuses on energy efficiency, which makes it possible to obtain a very long battery life without increasing the battery (and, accordingly, the weight of the headset itself). In addition, they can be used while the “ears” are charging from the wire - there will be no background noise.

As for the sound, here Sennheiser specialists deviated a little from their principles of balance and added a little more bass. However, if you want to adjust the sound, you can use the equalizer in the proprietary Gaming Suite program. In any case, the detail of the sound stage will be maximum, which will greatly facilitate the performance of tasks in games.

5 best headphones under 1000 rubles

Sennheiser CX 400 True Wireless

The model is one step lower compared to the MOMENTUM True Wireless 2. There are fewer functions, but the price is noticeably lower. The most interesting thing is that the Sennheiser CX 400 True Wireless uses the same 7-mm dynamic drivers as its more expensive older brother: they play cleanly, loudly, with soul and reasonable bass notes. The headphones have Bluetooth 5.1 and support SBC, AAC and aptX codecs.

The headphones have impressive autonomy. On one charge they will last up to 7 hours; if you use the included charging case, the operating time increases to 20 hours. Moreover, fast charging is provided: the headphones will work for an hour if they lie in the case for only 10 minutes.

Sennheiser HD 250BT

Headphones are among the relatively simple and practical models. They have a body made of ordinary matte black plastic, while the headphones are light and fit comfortably on the head. Despite the status of an entry-level device, the Sennheiser HD 250BT has removable ear pads: over time, they can be replaced with new ones. The controls are laconic: you can use the physical keys on the right earcup to switch tracks and adjust the volume.

The sound of the Sennheiser HD 250BT is tuned with an emphasis on electronic music: they added low frequencies, focusing on the bass. The headphones have Bluetooth 5.0, AAC, SBC, aptX and aptX Low Latency codecs. Moreover, they can simultaneously work with a couple of sources: for example, you can play on a laptop with headphones, and if there is an incoming call on your phone, you can answer directly through the headset.

The autonomy of the model is at a good level: on a full charge they will last more than 20 hours. A modern USB Type-C port is used for charging.

Price: 5490 rubles.

FAQ

What is aptX Low Latency?

This is a codec designed to transmit audio over Bluetooth. In most cases, the VT headset broadcasts it with a slight lag. This may be noticeable when watching videos and playing games. AptX Low Latency reduces this latency to a minimum of 32 ms, which is almost imperceptible to humans. The technology only works when using Bluetooth 5 protocols.

Which senheisers give the most “correct” sound?

Almost all Sennheiser headphones provide honest and very natural sound. But if you're looking for monitor playback without unnecessary embellishment, pay attention to models from the IE and HD series.

Should I buy headphones with velor ear pads?

If you only plan to use them at home or in the workplace, then why not. These ear pads do not cause sweating and do not stick to the skin; they are soft and pleasant to the touch.

As a rule, velor pads are used in open-type headphones; for closed systems with passive noise insulation, leather or its substitutes are still preferable.

The only drawback of velor ear pads is that they require maintenance. Dust and small debris will constantly accumulate on the fleecy surface, so they will have to be cleaned regularly.

What to look for when buying wireless headphones?

Stay up to date! When choosing headphones from Sennheiser, the key parameters are:

  1. Design. There are full-size and earbuds. In this case, it all depends on individual preferences. But it's worth noting that full-size ones usually last longer.
  2. Availability of a microphone. With such models you can not only listen to your favorite tracks, but also use them as a telephone headset. However, the price of such models will be higher.
  3. Ear pad material. This applies to full-size models. In order for them to last as long as possible, the material must be wear-resistant.
  4. Offline operating time. One of the important parameters for wireless headphones. For maximum comfort, the charge should last at least 9-12 hours.

Sennheiser PXC 550-II

Large closed-type headphones with a folding design; the housing is decorated with artificial leather and plastic. The headband is soft, the ear pads are voluminous - it can get a little hot in the summer. The keys and connectors are located on the right cup: in addition to the buttons, there is a microUSB port for charging and a 2.5 mm jack if you want to connect via wire. Tracks in the Sennheiser PXC 550-II are controlled by gestures on the touchpad.

Wireless closed-type headphones with support for active noise cancellation have decent battery life: they work up to 30 hours on a single charge. The headphones have a full set of codecs, including SBC, AAC, aptX and aptX Low Latency. The sound is moderately neutral, without distortions for certain genres and styles, so the Sennheiser PXC 550-II turned out to be a universal instrument for listening to any tracks.

The noise reduction system of the Sennheiser PXC 550-II is customizable; you can choose between three modes: turn off noise reduction, select maximum sound reduction, or an intermediate option if you need to hear what is happening around you.

Among the useful functions is a mode for simultaneous connection to several devices: a smartphone and a laptop, for example. The headphones also pause the music if you remove them from your head. Switching off the power is very simple: just fold the Sennheiser PXC 550-II.

Sennheiser G4ME ZERO

Sennheiser gaming headphones with microphone!

Sennheiser G4ME ZERO ($200) is the best headphones from Sennheiser for gamers with a perfect microphone. The sound in the headphones is balanced, which distinguishes them from many competitive models - the sound is detailed and pleasant. The microphone is made of high quality and transmits voice clearly.

In our opinion, this model is the most unique from Sennheiser. It's definitely worth checking out if you're looking for gaming headphones!

  • Sound. Good sound without harsh low frequencies. There is no need for sound quality amplifiers - everything already works 100%;
  • Microphone. The headphones will protect well from the wind, and voice transmission will be at the highest level. Activating the microphone is very simple, just press up or down. Sennheiser G4ME ZERO is a worthy development from Sennheiser for gaming;
  • Convenience. Fortunately, you can spend a lot of time in them - your ears don’t sweat, your head doesn’t hurt. And the fabric ear pads are removable, so you can easily clean them.
  • Problems with the cable. Sometimes it rubs against clothes and a microphone effect appears. It is difficult to avoid this if used as intended;
  • Microphone. It is quite large and there is no way to remove it;
  • Connection. The headphones have a 2.5 mm micro-jack connector. Therefore, if you want to replace the cable, difficulties may arise;
  • Sound card requirements. To experience the fullness of sound, you need to have a modern computer hardware. Embedding an ordinary chip is not an option - the sound will be incomplete.
