TOP 10 best Redmond blenders: 2021 rating of immersion and stationary models

Updated: 02/06/2021 Nowadays, you rarely meet a person who does not appreciate the ease of use and advantages of a blender over manual work. With its help, cooking becomes much more comfortable and faster, and in some cases, it is simply an indispensable assistant in the kitchen.

Manufacturers produce models with advanced functions and additions to satisfy the needs of not only ordinary housewives, but also the most demanding cooks. The Russian company offers Redmond brand blenders in all price categories, with various options, and even the design of the model can be chosen to suit the style of the room.

The devices presented in our rating are multifunctional, so they can replace several appliances at once, which will significantly save space in the kitchen. They can be used as blenders, mixers, or choppers, and some come with travel cups and high-power modes.

What parameters should you pay attention to when purchasing a Redmond blender:

  • Design.
    A blender can be stationary (desktop) or submersible (hand-held). The former competes with a home harvester if enough options are included. Submersible models have an elongated body to which nozzles are attached. The advantage of this group is its compact size and mobility.
  • Power.
    The higher the power of the device, the more revolutions per minute the nozzles make. This parameter directly affects the quality and speed of preparation of the desired consistency of the mixture, which is obtained from the loaded products. Many of the presented models have a mode, when activated, the blender operates at maximum speed and dishes are prepared in literally a matter of seconds.
  • Bowl.
    Depending on your preferences, you can choose a model with a standard or increased capacity, or without it at all. The most common option is with a capacity of 0.5-0.6 liters. The bowl can be made of plastic or tempered glass; each of these materials has its own characteristics and advantages.
  • Material of manufacture.
    The blender body must be made of high-quality material (usually plastic), which is completely safe, because the device comes into contact with food. Metal parts are much stronger and more reliable than plastic, but their cost is higher.
  • Equipment.
    Pay attention to the equipment included with the device: whether it has the attachments and containers you need, and whether the power cord is long enough.
  • Overheat protection.
    Automatic shutdown of the device in case of excessive heating or overload can significantly increase the life of the device, protecting against accidental breakdown.
  • Additions.
    The manufacturer equips blenders with a different set of options and add-ons, so focus on your needs.

We present the rating of Redmond blenders 2021. 8 best models that were selected by our experts based on user reviews and ratings.

Which Redmond blender is better to buy?

As can be seen from the rating, blenders from the popular Redmond brand combine versatility, fairly high power, a modern set of options and are easy to operate. The basic configuration provides quick and high-quality results with minimal effort; additional options provide more cooking possibilities.

Most consumers prefer submersible models, as they are more compact. To finally understand the nuances and help you make the final choice, we will answer the questions that you may have.

  • Nozzles
    The blender is suitable for making smoothies, ice cream, liquid text, milkshakes and other dishes with a similar consistency. The mixer (whisk attachment) will help you whip cream, egg whites, mix puree or thicker dough. The chopper crushes the food, you can make pate, halva, sauces, salads, cutlets and other dishes of a similar consistency. If you need to grind a certain type of product, especially hard ones, pay attention to their list in the accompanying documentation. Is this ingredient not on the list? Then take a closer look at other models.
  • Power.
    For household use, 500-700 W is sufficient; for preparing cocktails and baby purees, even less is required, only 300-500 W. But, if you plan to chop or mix mostly solid foods, choose a more powerful device.
  • Speed.
    Each model has a different number of speeds, most of them have smooth shifting that ensures even mixing. A stationary blender can have up to 20 speeds, while an immersion blender can have significantly fewer speeds. The manufacturer recommends starting work at the minimum speed, increasing it as necessary.
  • Life time.
    Please note that the optimal time for continuous operation of the blender is only a few minutes, do not exceed this parameter! After the specified time, you should turn off the device for a few minutes, otherwise the device may break. Almost all models have protection against overheating and overload, but during operation you should take into account the manufacturer’s recommendation. After automatic shutdown, operation can be resumed immediately after the device has cooled down.
  • Bowl volume.
    The larger the volume, the better, because when loading it is recommended to fill the container 75% to avoid splashing of the mixture. Small bowls are suitable for preparing baby food, spices and seasonings. Can I use other utensils instead of the bowl that is included? This is not advisable, but is possible when using an immersion blender. The attachments can damage other cookware, and if you do not handle them carefully, you can get injured or break the appliance.
  • Options.
    Decide which ones will be in demand so you don’t overpay for add-ons you don’t need. If you plan to use the device infrequently, pay attention to the convenience of its storage.
  • Safety.
    It is almost impossible to get injured with a blender if you follow the safety precautions specified in the operating instructions.

If you choose carefully, you will get an excellent kitchen assistant that will delight you for a long time.

general information

In order to grind food, make minced meat or beat eggs, you will need a blender. This device from Redmond is equipped with several attachments, which allows you to increase its functionality. Some models include several containers of different sizes, bringing convenience during operation.

Blenders from this manufacturer are divided into two types:

  1. Submersible. The device has an elongated body to which attachments are attached, and also requires manual control. The user lowers the nozzle into a container of food and presses a button to start the blender. Its advantages are the ability to control the process, and therefore the density of the result, as well as compactness and mobility.
  2. Stationary. The device looks like a stand with a control panel and a container at the bottom of which there are knives. Since the bowl in this case is built into the device, the manufacturer supplies blenders with sufficiently large containers.

How to choose a Redmond blender and what to look for?

First of all, when choosing a blender, you should pay attention to five technical characteristics:

  1. Power . This parameter for blenders can vary between 180–2200 W. High power will ensure faster grinding of products, and it also determines how hard the product can be grinded by the mechanism.
  2. Number of speeds and modes . For a home blender, 3 to 5 speeds will be enough. It is also desirable to have a “Turbo” mode in the blender for more thorough grinding and a pulse mode for grinding very hard and fibrous products.
  3. Availability of an overheating protection system . This parameter is extremely important, since the life of the blender depends on it.
  4. Type of food . For home use, it is recommended to select a blender with mains power that can be plugged into an outlet. You should also pay attention to the power cord. Its optimal length should be more than 1 m.
  5. Body and bowl material . A metal body and a glass bowl will be more durable.
  6. Nozzles . They must be selected depending on the functions that the kitchen appliance will perform. Most often, the package includes the following attachments: a whisk, a chopper knife, and various types of graters.

After choosing a kitchen gadget according to the technical specifications, you should check the quality of the product. In particular, the thickness and material of plastic fasteners, the rim, as well as the integrity of the structure.

Review of the Redmond RHB-2997 immersion blender

Immersion blenders appear in the iXBT laboratory almost more often than other devices, and we, of course, are already accustomed to the fact that when you say “immersion blender,” you mean “3-in-1 blender set.” Redmond RHB-2997 was no exception, so once again we are testing a blender, mixer and chopper combined with one motor unit.

* To put it very simply: this is the period during which parts for repairing the device are supplied to official service centers. After this period, any repairs in official service centers (both warranty and paid) are unlikely to be possible.

Equipment

The RHB-2997 arrived to us in a box decorated in the Redmond corporate style: in addition to the smiling blonde, we see an image of the device itself and some technical data. In addition, the advantages of a particular model are listed: low noise level, double engine protection, increased service life, stainless steel knives. The information is presented in Russian and English, and on the sides - also in Ukrainian and Kazakh.

The first impression when you see the box is how small it is, smaller than another handbag! So it will be convenient to transport RHB-2997, despite the absence of a handle on the package.

Having opened the box, inside we found:

  • motor block;
  • blender attachment;
  • whisk;
  • reducer for whisk;
  • cup;
  • chopper bowl with s-shaped blade;
  • cover-reducer for the bowl;
  • instructions;
  • service book.

The box is so compact because there are no foam blocks inside, which usually protect the contents from external influences. All parts of the device are simply packed in plastic bags and separated from each other by cardboard inserts, and the motor block and blender attachment lie on top of the other parts on the folding part of the box.

At first sight

The only noticeable difference between the RHB-2997 and many similar blenders is that it is white. The rest of the look is completely standard.

The motor unit is made simply, concisely and even stylishly in terms of color design: on the snow-white body there are three small red drawings, hinting at what dishes can be prepared using the RHB-2997, and a few gray inscriptions. The attachment point for the nozzle, the control area and the upper part of the body are also highlighted in gray plastic. The capture area is slightly narrowed.

The attachments are easily connected to the motor unit: you just need to “put” the desired one on the body and press until it clicks. Removal is also simple: to do this, you need to press two buttons on the sides of the body and pull the nozzle down. It is quite possible to do this with one hand.

The classic s-shaped blender blade is hidden under a hemisphere with 4 holes along the edge. Its diameter is 60 mm, depth is 30 mm.

The whisk is completely ordinary, there is nothing to say here. It is attached to the motor block using a gearbox.

The glass is made of good and durable-looking plastic; the thickness of the walls gives hope that the container will not be scratched by the blender and whisk. There are marks on the glass (milliliters and ounces).

The 500 ml chopper bowl is made of the same bluish plastic as the glass. The marks also show milliliters (step - 100) and ounces (step - 4). In the center of the bottom of the bowl there is a metal pin onto which an s-shaped knife is mounted. The gearbox cover is secured to the bowl by turning it.

The stability of the bowl is ensured by rubber inserts.

At first glance, RHB-2997 looks very good. The only seam on the white motor block is almost invisible, the mixing containers seem durable, and the knives are sharp. However, upon closer examination, it turns out that the gray edging lags behind the body of the motor block, and the plastic connection between the body and the nozzles reminds us that the service life of the RHB-2997, according to the documentation, is 3 years (but this is not certain).

Instructions

The instruction manual is a glossy and very small brochure, only 14x10 cm.

The instructions are written in Russian, Ukrainian and Kazakh, but Redmond has significantly reduced its volume, presenting the basic information in the form of pictures that both Russians and Ethiopians will understand: here are assembly diagrams, simple operating principles, and information about caring for the device. Safety precautions, technical specifications, warranty obligations and some data on the operation of the RHB-2997 are presented in text form.

Control

Just two buttons on the control panel leave little room for unnecessary maneuver.

The top one is indicated by a picture associated with the on/off button. After pressing it, the blender operates in 14,000 rpm mode - let's call it normal. The lower one - well, it’s clear from the inscription - turns on the turbo mode. Press one of the buttons - the blender works in the appropriate mode, that's all the control.

Exploitation

Before first use, wipe the body with a damp cloth, and wash the removable parts thoroughly with warm water and detergent. Of course, we waited until all the elements were completely dry.

If you have already held a similar device in your hands, then there will be no problems with the RHB-2997. Its assembly is simple, its control is even simpler. All elements of the device perform their “duties” without any complaints.

Each nozzle has its own maximum continuous operation time:

  • blender - 1-2 minutes (break between starts - 10 minutes);
  • mixer - 30 seconds (break - 10 minutes);
  • chopper - 1-2 minutes (break - 10 minutes).

To be honest, while testing the mixer we exceeded the recommended time, but the RHB-2997 did not react to this in any way: it did not overheat, did not emit an unpleasant odor, and did not slow down.

In other tests, there was no question of working too long: the RHB-2997 coped with many tasks many times faster than many devices in its price category. One problem: if, while working with a blender, you lift it close to the surface of the substance being crushed, it splashes a little.

Care

The motor block and gearboxes are wiped with a damp cloth. The mixing containers, chopper blade and whisk can be washed under the tap or in the dishwasher. The blender attachment is a little more complicated: the lower part, with the knife, can be washed under the tap, but so that water does not get into the gearbox - it must be wiped with a damp cloth.

Our measurements

We couldn’t even get close to the rated power; the recorded maximum was 250 W.

Practice tests

Mandatory test: chopping tomatoes

We took 350 grams of plum tomatoes, dense, with thick skin.

We crushed it for 20 seconds in the usual mode - the mass became puree-like, but large pieces of skin were still floating in it. Another 5 seconds in normal mode, 10 in turbo.

The skin was crushed to very small particles, but the seeds remained intact.

We ate it in the tomato puree in a blender for another 20 seconds. The puree became paler and airier, but the seeds still did not give in. However, for a budget device the result is quite satisfactory.

The resulting tomato puree was boiled with salt, sugar, cinnamon, cloves and other spices - a wonderful aromatic sauce was obtained.

Result: good.

Zucchini soup

It's getting colder, I want something warming and spicy. And since you have a blender at hand, it will be puree soup.

In a deep frying pan, fry onions and garlic with two spoons of curry. Add potatoes and a little vegetable broth and cook for 15 minutes.

Then they added chopped zucchini and a liter of broth and simmered until the vegetables were soft.

When the soup was ready, pour it into a saucepan with a less delicate coating and cool slightly. Then we poured in a little cream and pureed it directly in the pan - first in normal mode, towards the end - in turbo mode.

In 2 minutes 20 seconds we got a homogeneous puree soup with bright spots of zucchini skin. While blending, the soup sometimes splashed when we lifted the blender.

Result: excellent.

Mayonnaise

One of the standard tests for a blender is a cold mayonnaise sauce made from eggs, mustard, oil and lemon juice.

First, beat the egg with mustard, salt and pepper as usual, then gradually began to pour in the oil. When the sauce reached the consistency we needed, we added lemon juice. In 2 minutes we got an excellent sauce without any preservatives or other nonsense.

Result: excellent.

Egg nests

It's time to check the operation of the whisk. To do this, we will beat the whites and prepare breakfast from them in the French style.

The egg whites were beaten with salt as usual until they began to increase in volume - after which they switched to turbo mode. In 2 minutes we got a strong, tight foam.

Place the egg whites in a heap on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, make a depression in the center and place in the oven for 4 minutes. Then put the yolk in the cavity and put it in the oven for a few more minutes. Ready! A great way to change up traditional scrambled eggs.

Result: excellent.

Chicken mince

The chopper comes onto the scene. Chicken thigh and breast fillets (total weight - 700 grams) were chopped in three steps.

Each portion of meat was ground into mince in a ridiculous 10 seconds. Not to say that the quality of minced meat from a meat grinder is much inferior.

After adding onions, herbs and spices, we made cutlets from the minced meat.

By the way, the onions were also not cut, but sent to the chopper.

10 seconds - and you're done. Surprisingly, it was chopped evenly, there was not much juice. We are glad.

Result: excellent.

Chopped nuts

We decided to complicate the task a little and grind something harder than chicken in RHB-2997 - almonds. The instructions don’t even say “nuts”, but “walnuts”, but the spirit of adventurism awoke in us.

A couple of handfuls of almonds were ground for 15 seconds in pulses in normal mode, then another 15 seconds in turbo mode. We got completely homogeneous almond crumbs - just a great result for a simple device. And chopped nuts can be used for baking or sauce.

Result: excellent.

conclusions

Considering the price, lack of variety of modes and some flaws in appearance, we were ready for a simple device to show average results, but the Redmond RHB-2997 pleasantly surprised us. It passed most of the tests with an “excellent” rating, and some were even at the level of the more expensive devices we tested. I was especially pleased with the minced meat, which actually tasted like minced meat and not like meat paste, and the perfect nut crumble.

RHB-2997 is quiet, easy to disassemble and assemble, and even a child can master the controls. Add to this excellent work with basic culinary tasks - and we get a good, and even inexpensive, device.

Pros:

  • ease of assembly and management
  • quiet operation
  • multifunctionality
  • excellent work of the shredder

Minuses:

  • sometimes splashes liquid products
  • defects in the assembly
  • no smooth gear shifting
