Place in the kitchen set
The kitchen unit has space for a microwave oven. You need to think about this in advance when ordering or purchasing a kitchen set.
Basic rules for placement
Since you have to use a microwave oven often, you need to pay due attention to where it is placed.
General requirements for placement:
- optimal height from the floor – 60-150 cm;
- should not be placed near a stove, oven, radiator or other heating appliances;
- position it so that you can easily reach it with your hand;
- do not place the microwave oven next to the sink;
- make sure that nothing prevents the door from opening and closing;
- ventilation openings must not be blocked. They are usually located on the top panel. If particles of food or water get there, the device may burn;
- Do not store interior items or kitchen utensils on the appliance.
Ignoring advice on ergonomic and safe placement is not recommended.
Due to improper use, the microwave oven will quickly break down, and if it is inconveniently positioned, you risk spilling hot food on yourself and getting burned. Even at the stage of planning your kitchen furniture, you should take care of the space for the microwave. Modern headsets, ready-made and custom-made, often already have a special shelf for the device.
Place on the countertop
This option is the most functional, as you can install the microwave anywhere on the work surface where it is convenient for you. This method will be the easiest, just extend your hand.
This method is not suitable for small kitchens, as it can deprive the hostess of a work space on the countertop.
Options for placing a free-standing microwave oven
Compact and inexpensive microwave ovens are usually installed in the kitchen as a stand-alone device on any suitable flat surface. The most popular installation locations are countertops, dining tables, bar counters, windowsills and refrigerators. However, each place has both pros and cons.
Microwave on the countertop
Working surface
This option is the simplest and most convenient, since the kitchen countertop is at the optimal height for microwave operation, has a flat, hard surface and allows you to immediately place hot dishes on it. Installing the stove on a countertop does not require any additional equipment. All that is needed for this is the presence of a free electrical outlet and a safe distance of 50 cm from the sink and stove. The only drawback of this option is the loss of usable space (60-80 cm) of the working surface, which is quite significant for small kitchens.
Windowsill
A wide and spacious window sill may well be a good place to install a microwave oven, since its height is at the level of the countertop and provides convenient access to the products being heated. However, using a windowsill as a place to place a microwave is not always safe. This is due to the temperature difference that occurs during the cold season. The hot air that comes from the microwave hitting the cold window glass causes condensation to appear on it and can cause a crack. On hot days, on the contrary, under the influence of sunlight, the microwave may overheat. Therefore, it is advisable to use this location option only if the window opening does not go out onto the street, but onto a glazed balcony.
Microwave on the windowsill
Allocating space on a shelf or hanging with brackets
The microwave can be placed on a shelf. You can hang it yourself or ask someone who can do it. Also, do not forget that there should be an outlet nearby to connect the device.
You can hang the microwave using brackets. In this case, you can place the equipment between the upper cabinets and the countertop, if there is enough space, at a height of approximately eye level.
This method is very convenient and effective in a small kitchen, where space is already quite limited. But even in large kitchens this option can fit harmoniously.
In any case, you should remember that the microwave needs space around itself, and also prevent the possibility of even the slightest vibration of the equipment during operation.
Choosing a place for a microwave - basic rules
Most modern city apartments dating back to the period of Soviet development cannot be called spacious. As a rule, all household appliances are placed in them according to the simple principle “any free corner fits”. However, if you follow some rules, it is quite possible to correctly and functionally place all household appliances, including a microwave oven.
You should not install the microwave too low to the floor, as it will be very inconvenient to use. The distance between it and the floor should range from 0.6 to 1.5 meters. You should also not place the microwave oven too high, as you can easily get burned when taking out heated food.
It is necessary to calculate the height so that it is comfortable for all family members, both large and small. It is preferable that there is a tabletop nearby on which you can immediately place a hot plate.
It is undesirable for a microwave oven to be adjacent to heating appliances and an oven. It should not come into contact with the refrigerator. Do not install other household appliances (kettle, coffee maker) on the microwave oven. You need to make sure that the microwave door opens freely and does not hit any obstacles.
Advice! It is best to install the microwave oven on a rigid and stable metal support that does not bend under the weight of the household appliance.
Location under the countertop
This method must be resorted to when other options do not suit your kitchen at all. Because the location itself at such a low level is not convenient.
Placement of built-in microwave ovens
Built-in microwave ovens have increased thermal insulation of the body, which affects their cost. Having a good chamber volume and sufficient capacity, the designs are quite compact, which allows them to be placed in different positions of the kitchen space. Distinctive features of devices of this series:
- Common design direction with other representatives of embedded equipment.
- Dimensions taking into account the dimensions of kitchen cabinets (standard – width 60 cm).
- Corresponding design (in front - decorative panel, back - technical).
In any case, the main task is the correct distribution of all appliances in the kitchen for their most efficient operation.
Under the table top
Placing a microwave under the countertop completely frees up the work surface, saves space, and you can install the electrical appliance anywhere on the lower level, even under the hob. To do this, you should take care in advance of a special cabinet and shelf, the size of which provides for additional space for the free passage of air (at least 15 cm in the back and more than 10 cm on the sides).
Of course, this location of the microwave oven is convenient, but you should not lose sight of the fact that:
- To operate the microwave you will have to constantly bend over.
- The accessibility of the device in terms of placement height can be dangerous for small curious children.
- It will take a fair amount of effort to maintain the equipment.
- It is better to purchase a model with buttons to open the door, otherwise you can regularly injure your legs.
Sometimes a kitchen project includes an “island” or a bar counter, then you can install a microwave in one or another object. By the way, in this way the issue of severe contamination and drips, which almost always occur when using the countertop, will be very easily resolved.
Corner cupboard
Large spacious kitchens have a comfortable, well-thought-out layout. But deep corner cabinets are not used very often, and this is an excellent place to install a microwave oven. The electrical appliance will fit into the corner without any problems and fill the empty space. It is very convenient to work with equipment installed in this way.
Set
Installing a microwave in a kitchen cabinet is perhaps the most aesthetically pleasing, neat and comfortable way to place it. In addition to external attractiveness, we can note:
- A unified style of the resulting composition.
- Practicality.
- Possibility of installing the electric furnace at the most appropriate height.
- Selecting a device model before ordering a headset (decide on the dimensions, since some microwave models require a free height of up to 20 cm on top, design).
Do not be upset if this issue is not thought through in advance. Many kitchen sets pre-provide space for built-in appliances. Therefore, sometimes it is enough to decide on the size of the device, the desired installation height, make sure that access to the microwave oven will be free, and find a drawer, cabinet or shelf where you can build the equipment.
Above the hob
The issue of installing a microwave oven above the hob usually evokes different emotions. On the one hand, it saves space, everything looks compact and very nice. On the other hand, the safety and practicality of this “duet”:
- The microwave oven heats up and the risk of fire is quite high.
- If the microwave is mounted high, reaching it can be very difficult.
- Oil fumes and smoke will sooner or later affect the outer shell of the device, reduce the operational capabilities of the electric furnace, and subsequently can lead to breakdown.
- Hot steam, and therefore high humidity, will stimulate the appearance of rust in the internal system of the device.
- Problems arise with the placement of the hood, therefore, air circulation and its quality are disrupted.
Of course, if you want to install appliances above the stove, then it is better to pay attention to modern models that combine the functions of a microwave with a hood or oven. Such equipment has maximum thermal protection.
Niche in the wall
A niche in the wall is one of a number of original and stylish solutions, the organization of which, as a rule, is planned when creating a design project for the room. So what are the advantages of such an idea?
- The opening can fit very correctly into the interior of the kitchen.
- Depending on the degree of operation of the device, a niche can be organized both in the most active zone and at a distance from it.
- The installed microwave oven is easily accessible for cleaning or washing.
- If you design the outlet inside the opening, you can also hide the wires there.
This setup is unusual, but very interesting.
Above the oven
In terms of comfort during operation, one of the leading positions is occupied by the “union” of a microwave and oven. However, there is one small “but” - this is the height at which the equipment will be located. Here it is better to calculate all the options in advance and, perhaps, be prepared for the fact that the oven will be a little lower than we would like, and the microwave oven will be a little higher. Fortunately, this will not in any way affect the efficient operation of the devices, even if it is a large microwave that is actively used. And if you choose both stoves in the same style, in a similar color or even the same brand, they will become a decoration of any kitchen and the pride of the housewife.
Today, manufacturers offer customers multifunctional 2-in-1 designs that combine the capabilities of both ovens and microwave appliances. It may be a little expensive, but it is compact and practical.
Kitchen island
Arranging a kitchen island is a popular trend in organizing useful space, both in large country and small apartment kitchens. Since the island of furniture in the center of the room houses all kinds of household appliances and a considerable amount of various dishes, it is difficult to imagine that there will not be a place for your favorite microwave. Of course, its size makes you think about the installation location. And it doesn’t matter - there wasn’t enough space to place it on top, then you need to build it directly into the island. Once again it will not be “conspicuous”, but, in general, everything will look very aesthetically pleasing and modern.
Pencil case
Installing a microwave oven in a “pencil case” or so-called high module today is an innovative idea. And the point is not at all in the shape of the design, but in the fact that several types of household appliances can be built into them. For example, a dishwasher, oven and microwave oven; washing machine, oven and microwave; oven and coffee machine, etc.
You can purchase a “pencil case” either together with a kitchen set, or order it separately. Often, this is a very correct and profitable solution when arranging devices:
- There is a certain place with the most flat surface.
- Equipped with the required number of sockets.
- The required distance to walls or other surfaces for good air passage is calculated.
Since we are talking about the kitchen, it would be nice if the countertop was located immediately next to the structure, opposite, or at least no further than 2-3 m.
Drawer
Another original idea, modern “know-how” is a microwave in a drawer. There is no doubt that this solution is very convenient:
- Nothing disturbs the organized order in the kitchen, the voluminous device is invisible.
- The box in which the electrical appliance is located can be equipped at the bottom of the headset.
- The design with a microwave oven performs all the necessary functions and easily extends and retracts.
- Control is carried out using buttons located slightly higher.
It is very practical and stylish. The only thing that can make you think twice is the rather high price of the device.
Separate room or "garage"
If the house has a separate room, pantry or similar room, you can place all the household appliances there: microwave, food processor, dishwasher, washing machine, coffee machine, blender, etc. This separate room will become a kind of garage for devices, which has both its pros and cons. The biggest advantage is that it relieves the kitchen of a large number of large appliances and makes the interior light.
In small kitchens, you can also organize your “garage” from a cabinet shelf or a section of the work surface, and place equipment there that is temporarily not in use. The microwave must be installed so that, if necessary, it can be used without problems.
Place above the oven
The trend of ovens and microwaves looks very harmonious in the kitchen. The kitchen acquires additional notes of modernity and elegance.
In terms of ease of use, there can be no questions, because in this version the microwave is at eye level and provides maximum operating comfort.
Where to put a microwave in a small kitchen
Many apartment owners in old houses are wondering where to put a microwave in the kitchen in a Khrushchev-era building. The choice of options in this case is not particularly large. You need to choose an installation method that will allow you to use your kitchen space as efficiently as possible.
The best places to place a microwave oven: a bracket or a wall shelf under the upper cabinets, under the countertop, above the stove. It can also be built into the headset. It is recommended to buy a compact microwave model that will not take up much space.
Location in a wall niche
This method cannot exist without a pre-prepared place during renovation or when ordering a kitchen set. Otherwise, you will have to spend extra effort when, in general, the entire kitchen is already equipped. In addition, the finished composition can be damaged during repair work.
But in essence, the method is very interesting. In this case, the equipment becomes hidden in most of its dimensions, allowing easy access. But you should also not forget about the presence of an outlet nearby and sufficient space around the stove.
Placing freestanding microwaves
It is logical to assume that freestanding microwaves get their name from the way they are installed. These electrical appliances belong to the category of universal ones: they can have different functionality, they are convenient to work with, and they can also be placed in a variety of places (as needed) or hung on brackets.
A characteristic feature of the described designs is a lower degree of protection from the heat that is released during operation of the stove, in contrast to built-in analogues. Therefore, it is worth maintaining the distances recommended by manufacturers between the microwave device and nearby other equipment or furniture. And with the generally recognized, so-called “disadvantage” - “eating” useful space, it is quite possible to overcome. Moreover, with a very successful result.
The video below describes several of the most popular options with their advantages. In general, there are many options. The main thing is to consider the pros and cons in each individual case.
Working surface
Standard, classic, “at hand”, the most functional - no matter how the proposed location of the microwave is called. The countertop can rightfully be considered the most convenient support for a microwave oven. It has a lot of advantages:
- The most acceptable height.
- Strength and stability.
- Proximity to the work area.
- Free access to any part of the equipment for cleaning or repair.
- The ability to quickly and easily change the location of the device.
If you monitor the cleanliness between the bottom of the microwave oven and the countertop, and install the device safely taking into account the distance to the stove, washbasin and outlet, then the only, but very significant disadvantage will be the dimensions of the “helper”. A microwave can occupy 50-80 cm of surface, which will significantly reduce the usable space of a small kitchen and become an unaffordable luxury. But for a large kitchen, this arrangement of the stove will become simple and convenient.
Windowsill
If the kitchenette is very small, and the window sill takes up a lot of space in it, many housewives immediately find a use for it - after all, a wide and strong surface should not be empty. It would seem that the height is suitable, there is enough light, and there is a lot of space for an opening door or dishes nearby. However, specialized experts who are well aware of all the nuances of a microwave oven advise using this arrangement only if absolutely necessary. And even having made such a decision, care must be taken to:
- The device was located at a certain distance from the edge of the window sill (the optimal option is about 20 cm).
- There was enough space for free circulation of air masses around the equipment.
- The kitchen window looked out onto a closed loggia or an insulated balcony, and not onto the street.
- The equipment was protected from drafts and direct rays of the sun (install a microwave, for example, in a corner, and cover the window with mini-curtains or hang blinds).
- There was an outlet nearby that the cable (wire) reached.
- Preferably, the windows were plastic (in winter, wooden frames can swell from condensation).
- There were no flowers nearby.
- The material from which the window sill was made was durable and could withstand various loads and possible temperature changes.
If this is the only place where you can install a microwave, you should consider possible “surprises” and use foil insulation, asbestos cement sheets or decorative mosaics on the windowsill. And the stove itself can be raised on legs or placed on a stand.
Fridge
Placing a microwave on a refrigerator can hardly serve as the best example, but under very cramped circumstances and a categorical lack of space, this installation option is possible. There are, however, some points that are worth knowing and taking into account.
Important! If the microwave oven is located on the refrigerator:
- If the equipment breaks down, this may cause the warranty to be repaired.
- The microwave must be used in the “warm up” and “defrost” modes.
- The refrigerator's electricity consumption will increase.
When placing the microwave appliance on the refrigerator, you must:
- Place a heat-insulating gasket (rubber, plywood) between the equipment that will withstand the thermal load.
- Avoid the presence of film, oilcloth or other materials that can be easily flammable.
- Use feet, especially when installing an oven with bottom vents.
- Maintain gaps of the required size (15 cm or more) from these devices to other equipment, walls or furniture.
- Determine the level of vibration of the refrigerator during operation (if necessary, put anti-vibration special pads or level the equipment).
- Consider the height of the freezer or refrigerator (it’s good if the microwave door is at chest level), as well as the distance between the microwave appliance and the ceiling (from 20 cm).
The proximity of such two powerful electrical appliances is possible. The main thing is that they do not interfere with each other, do not create dangerous situations and do not interfere with the operation of other household units.
Dishwasher
With a small kitchen space, many are looking for the most appropriate ways to install certain household appliances. So, among the large selection of places to place a microwave, a dishwasher is a very good option, since the equipment described is different:
- Good depth.
- Maximum reduced vibration.
- No heating.
- Resilience.
You can safely install a microwave oven on this unit, and for its safe operation try:
- Provide a separate outlet.
- Provide a layer of thermal insulation.
- Do not use two devices at the same time.
But there are also more interesting extreme options.
Washing machine
If a place for a washing machine was provided in advance, it is already installed, but very rarely performs its functions, why not use it not only as a table, but also to place a microwave. However, in this case, you will have to fulfill a number of conditions:
- The depth of the microwave device must be equal to the size of the washing machine body, otherwise ventilation may be disrupted.
- The stove should weigh no more than 15 kg.
- You definitely need a rubber mat that will prevent the microwave from falling or moving.
- A separate outlet is required for direct connection (no extension cord).
Of course, such an installation cannot be called winning: a tandem of electrical appliances may turn out to be unsafe; and the waves emitted by the microwave oven can affect the electronic unit of the machine. However, this installation method has a right to exist and allows you to effectively use existing surfaces.
Hanging open shelf
Placing the microwave on the wall using a shelf as a holder is a great idea. By the way, you can purchase or order a shelf from a specialized store, or you can also design it yourself. Products can be made of wood, MDF, metal or chipboard (for example, laminated), have different shapes and sizes, one and two tiers. To make a structure with edges around the perimeter with your own hands, even good plywood will do.
The main thing to pay attention to:
- Correct choice of height.
- Reliability and quality of fastening.
- Wall material (particular attention to plasterboard walls and appropriate fastening methods).
As in previous cases, it is important to properly organize ventilation.
Shelf under wall cabinets
This option for installing a microwave oven cannot be ignored, given the convenience of such a solution.
- Firstly, this placement of the device looks quite neat and presentable.
- Secondly, the location at the bottom of the work surface is very convenient, on which you can very quickly place hot dishes.
There are no special nuances when installing the device. Of course, the ideal option would be when the depth of the oven and the fittings on top would match, and there would be lighting underneath the appliance to better illuminate the work area.
Niche in the kitchen cabinet
Why do you want to pay attention to this particular decision? Further in the article we will describe the method of installing built-in appliances in a kitchen set; in this case we are talking about a more budget-friendly, but very popular option for installing a free-standing stove. Main points to pay attention to:
- It is necessary to find a niche in the headset (preferably without a door) of the appropriate size.
- It is good to think over the ventilation system.
And that’s it, then just put the microwave in the niche and connect it. In the future, you can think about whether it is necessary to make a door, or maybe it is better to leave it open or cover it with textiles. The main thing is that the hostess likes it and it is convenient to work.
bracket
The installation option is very similar to the previous one, but it is, so to speak, more elegant and modern. The method is perfect for placing a microwave in the work area and there is nothing superfluous, everything is precise and concise: no additional elements, no details. To be sure of the reliability of the installation, it is important to choose the right fastening method and take into account the load-carrying capacity of the elements. To securely fix the electrical appliance, the brackets are equipped with grooves or recesses for the legs of the stove.
Dinner table
This piece of kitchen furniture is, of course, suitable for placing a microwave on it. But, as practice shows, this is either a temporary solution while another place is being equipped, or the size and fullness of the kitchen does not allow placing the device in another area. Despite the fact that such arrangement of equipment does not always look attractive and harmonious, and the device takes up a lot of space, you can always immediately put a hot plate on the table.
Bar counter
But the bar counter is an interesting solution with many possibilities. For those who like to have a quick snack or stylishly decorate the interior. It is always there, just “stretch out your hand”, and it is convenient to use. Plus, there is always the opportunity to decorate an electrical appliance to match the color of the walls or kitchen unit, making it an original addition that harmonizes with the counter.
In both cases, do not forget about circular air circulation, and position the stove so that the back wall with the ventilation grill and wires is hidden.
Rack or separate shelf
When there is enough space in the kitchen, the microwave can be placed on a bedside table or shelf (the main thing is that the depth allows - 60 cm or more). Then the device will have its own personal place and there is no need to “rack your brains” over the question of where to install the equipment.
If finances allow, then a floor cabinet can be purchased along with a set of kitchen furniture. If not, then use an ordinary bedside table with a height of at least 80 cm or a shelf with several levels. Today, stylish, neat shelves are becoming popular, on which you can place a wide variety of household equipment: a mixer, an electric kettle, a coffee grinder, a blender, a microwave oven, etc. This is already very convenient and interesting. In addition, if necessary, the bedside table or shelving can be safely moved and a “technical corner” can be arranged in another place you like.
On the refrigerator
Placing a microwave oven directly on top of the refrigerator is not a good idea. Or rather, it is absolutely wrong both in terms of safety and convenience. The fact is that the refrigerator has the property of vibrating. And this vibration provokes slight vibrations and movements of everything that is on it. And in the case of a microwave, these movements can lead to its breakdown.
But in terms of convenience, it is logical that this location is too high for constant use. Because most modern refrigerator models are tall.
The only case in which this option can be used is if your refrigerator is small and there can be a shelf above it at some distance, where you will later put the microwave. But also don’t forget about access to it.
Where should you not place a microwave?
There are places in the kitchen where it is undesirable to install microwave ovens, as this can lead to their rapid failure. We list the restrictions on the placement of these devices:
- These devices should not be placed close to radiators or heating elements;
- you need to install them away from gas burners and sinks;
- It is undesirable for the microwave oven to be exposed to direct sunlight - equipment installed on window sills is especially susceptible to this danger;
- Steam and hot splashes of fat do not have the best effect on this equipment, so the idea of hanging a microwave over a stove or multicooker is no good;
- It is not advisable to place such equipment near the TV, as this may cause problems with the TV.
Location on the windowsill
This option is quite common and is often used because it is very profitable and convenient, especially if there is not enough space. But in this case, you need to take precautions.
First, the window sill must be wide enough to fully accommodate the microwave and leave room for air to circulate around it. And secondly, during the cold season, you will most likely have to constantly move the stove, because exposure to its thermal radiation can lead to problems with the window glass. And plants will not be able to survive in such an environment.
How to properly install a microwave oven in the kitchen
Modern manufacturers produce microwave ovens that fit perfectly into kitchen furniture. At the same time, they work just as well as household appliances placed separately.
However, their cost is much higher, and this is due to some design features of these models: their cases are reliably protected by thermal insulation, and the front part is well decorated. Such devices are purchased taking into account their size - they must match the niche or cabinet chosen for installation.
Place under the table top - to build a niche there, just pull out one of the bottom drawers. This way you can save space on your work surface. The kitchen does not look cluttered, while the microwave oven occupies its permanent place.
This option for placing an electrical appliance also has its drawbacks: it may not be very convenient to constantly bend down to get the finished dish. Such a place should not be considered if there are small children in the house who can easily reach the microwave.
A microwave built into the set is an ideal placement option in which the built-in device looks very aesthetically pleasing and attractive. The advantages of this placement: you can easily choose the most convenient height for the microwave oven. Cons: the microwave may be located a little far from the countertop, and this is not entirely convenient.
To place the electrical appliance as conveniently as possible, it is recommended to buy or order a kitchen set with a special niche provided for it, ideally sized.
Placement in a corner cabinet - this option is suitable for spacious kitchens with a convenient layout, in which deep corners are not used much. It is very convenient to use an appliance installed in this way, since it faces the kitchen, filling the entire corner of the cabinet.
However, this option cannot be called particularly ergonomic, since some places behind the stove may not be used. However, if the kitchen is really large, then this is not a problem.
Niche - as a rule, the housewife herself chooses the most suitable niche in the closet to install a microwave in. This option is suitable if the device is not used often enough. Its advantages are that the stove can be placed at the most convenient height if the cabinet is not very loaded.
There are also disadvantages - you will have to constantly open and close the cabinet door to use the device, and this is not entirely convenient.
Another difficulty may arise - you will have to drill the necessary holes for the wires in the back wall of the cabinet. You will also need to place an outlet nearby so that you can turn on the microwave.
A place above the stove - this location of the microwave can hardly be called attractive, but this option can be used if there are no others. The advantage of this location is that there is a significant saving of space in the kitchen.
However, if the device is placed too high, it will be inconvenient to constantly reach it. In addition, it will interfere with effective ventilation. To make this option look more attractive, it is recommended to buy both a stove and a microwave from the same manufacturer; they should be designed in the same style.
“Garage” for household appliances - this method is often used to hide and not keep in sight various kitchen appliances. The microwave should be placed in such a “garage” in such a way that it is quite easy to operate. Not only a shelf in a closet, but also a narrow work surface that is not used in any way can be turned into a “garage”.
However, it is best to choose a deep countertop for this so that there is enough free space in front of the microwave oven.
Place on the kitchen island - with this location, the microwave is practically invisible. There is a significant saving of space in the kitchen. Since the device itself is quite distant from the main working area, household members who are not engaged in cooking can freely use it without disturbing the housewife.
The downside is that the stove will be placed quite low, and this is not entirely convenient. In addition, electrical wiring will have to be connected to the island.
Place above the oven - this placement option looks best when the entire kitchen interior is designed in a minimalist or hi-tech style. Both devices should have a modern look and should be purchased from the same manufacturer.
This method of installing a microwave stove will also look good when arranging a classic interior, when the set is made of solid wood. The technique in this case looks very harmonious and balanced. The main thing is not to let the microwave be too high - it will be inconvenient.

Ergonomic and safety rules when installing a microwave oven
To make the device really convenient to use, remember some rules :
- Convenience and safety when removing a plate of hot food. The average optimal distance from the microwave to the floor is 0.6-1.5 m. Then you won’t have to risk getting hot soup from a height or bending down to the floor.
- It is strictly forbidden to place the stove near radiators or other heating equipment - stoves, ovens. It is better to find another place for it or think carefully about the thermal insulation system. You can use, for example, Fomisol, Izolon PPE films or organic and inorganic materials: polystyrene foam, cork tiles, fiberglass.
- If you follow the triangle rule , when all operating points must be within reach, the most suitable place is next to the refrigerator. But at the same time, contact of technical devices is unacceptable - it is necessary to leave a sufficient distance between them. Manufacturers usually specify this distance in the instructions. Minimum – 15-20 cm.
- It is also good to place the microwave near any surface, be it a countertop or a cabinet. After heating, it is convenient to place hot dishes on them.
- Under no circumstances should the ventilation holes be covered with decorative films , towels, tablecloths, textiles in general, or anything else. They must always be open to ensure that operation and safety are not compromised.
- No decorative or technical elements should interfere with the closing and opening of the door.
- The surface on which the oven is placed must be thermally insulated (if installed next to the oven or on a windowsill) and be strong to prevent the microwave from shaking or falling.
