What causes crashes?

Errors E01 - E10

If the washing machine stops working, this means that there is a specific reason that led to the breakdown. In this case, the display will show the error code that has occurred. Depending on what actually happened, you can either fix the problem yourself, or you will have to contact a service workshop.

Which parts break more often?

Any automatic machine can fail. Each brand has its own weak points, which are the first to be affected by a breakdown. Turkish SMAs are no exception. Their problems are:

The washing program does not start. The control panel functions normally, the machine itself turns on, a mode is selected, but the start button does not respond to pressing.

The equipment freezes at the initial stage of washing. The user selects a mode, starts it, but after a while the machine stalls and does not respond to presses. The screen may display error code E07.

Powder and rinse aid remain in the detergent drawer. This problem often worries owners of Vestel SM. This is not due to water or blockages, but to the specific design of the unit.

However, let's return to Vestel washing machines. Thanks to the release of high-quality household appliances, Vestel gradually absorbed a number of competitors, including both Danish and British companies. This suggests that the products are very competitive.

Vestel products are bought by families even with low incomes. This type of washing machine can easily wash a large volume of laundry and carry out a caring wash of delicate fabrics. This line has some shortcomings, but they become invisible when you consider the advantages. Therefore, we find out general information about the products.

The above data indicates that the company producing cars takes into account all consumer needs. Therefore, this line is easy to operate. In addition, such data makes it attractive. Malfunctions can be quickly resolved by reading the available instructions.

If you do have to make repairs, the amount will be pleasantly different from the amount that owners usually spend on repairing other washing machines.

The manufacturer of washing devices produces several types. Each type has a whole list of necessary modes. The functions allow you to protect tissues from changes in their structure. The smart system controls the amount of water supplied and balances the weight of items with an incomplete load while the wash is in progress. If you need to wash a small volume, then you can pour only half of the liquid into the container. Again, if the drum is overloaded, the unit itself performs an additional rinse.

The machine is easy to use. What do we have to do:

turn on the device and set the optimal washing mode, as well as temperature;
place the powder in a container;
put the laundry inside and press the button.

DIY Vestel washing machine repair

Let's start with the most easily repaired breakdowns, moving on to more complex ones.

The program does not start

Users are confident that if the program crashes and the start button does not work, then the problem is definitely in the electronic module. Judge for yourself: the program selector works, the LEDs are on, programs are selected, but they cannot be launched. In every 4th car of the Turkish brand, the electronic door lock (UBL) fails, which is why the control module does not receive information that the hatch is locked and does not start the car. In this case, no fault codes are illuminated.

What the user sees from the outside: a closed hatch and a working panel, but the mode still does not turn on. In rare cases, the button itself is to blame (read about replacing it here), but usually the solution is simpler:

Turn off the equipment.
Let it sit for a while - 10-15 seconds.
Launch it.
If there is no result, repeat the steps.
The problem persists, rebooting doesn't help? Move on.

Unplug the machine and:

Open the hatch.
Armed with a Phillips screwdriver, twist the pair of fasteners that are located near the locking mechanism.

Remove the UBL.

Be carefull! There is a wiring to the device - do not break it.

Take a tester to measure the resistance at the contacts of the UBL sensor. A working thermistor will show 900 Ohms in a cold state. If the ohmmeter screen shows 0 or 1, the blocker is broken.

You are convinced that the program does not start for a trivial reason - because of the sensor. Replace the UBL and everything will return to normal. Video on replacing the blocker using the Vestel Aura model as an example:

If the interlock is OK, you need to disassemble the user panel to check the trigger button and control module. Using the “Start/Pause” button, watch the following video:

But you shouldn’t undertake repairs at home of such a complex element as a control module - entrust the task to specialists, otherwise you risk the entire machine if something goes wrong. You will need not only an electrical circuit for the washing machine, but also certain tools and appropriate skills.

SMA freezes at the initial stage of the program

Self-repair is possible if the equipment is bothered by freezing during the initial stages of washing. This can happen in the first 5-10 minutes of the cycle or a couple of minutes before the end of the program. The behavior of the SMA may be strange: the drum does not stall at all, the user panel is working, the indicators are on, the screen displays the washing process, but the washing itself is not performed.

If code E07 lights up on the screen, proceed as follows:

Unplug the power cord. Wait half a minute and plug the plug into the outlet.
If the problem is resolved, the board has rebooted and the failure will not occur again.
Reboot didn't help? Turn off the washer and check that the installation is even. Installation on a crooked floor without level adjustment is the cause of failure.

UBL. Press the door tighter and, if the SM reacts to this, check the device in the same way as we wrote above.

Note! The first signs of problems with the sunroof will be jamming when opening. If you notice in time, you will avoid problems.

An incident is considered global after it is repeated several times and when code E07 is periodically displayed on the screen. This indicates an almost 100% failure of the electronics, which is not recommended to be repaired yourself.

There are funds left in the cuvette

Vestel machines can be washed without using special products poured into the powder receptacle. The main reason lies in the water supply valve.

Masters note that almost all machines, such as Vestel Bora and others, have defective valves. Moreover, defective parts do not appear from the first days of operation of the equipment - they can become a problem suddenly, for example, after the end of the warranty period.

The user starts the selected mode, and the control model commands the valve to start supplying water to the SMA tank. If everything is fine, the valve is activated, opens and the tank is filled, after which the wash starts. When a valve is faulty, it does not open all the way. Water is drawn in, but the pressure is less than expected: water flows into the tank, bypassing the powder receptacle. This significantly affects the quality of processing of things.

Important! In Samsung, LG or Indesit models, self-diagnosis promptly detects difficulties in water intake, displaying an error on the display. At Vestela, self-diagnosis in this matter may not notice insufficient pressure.

A valve with a defect cannot be repaired - replace it with a new, serviceable part. Select the appropriate part that matches the model of your SM, and get down to installation.

How to disassemble the equipment to replace the valve? Instructions:

Disconnect the electrical appliance.
Disconnect from communications.
Take it out of the niche.
Unscrew the fastenings of the top panel and remove (this is written in detail in the article on how to remove the top cover).
In the place where the inlet hose is connected to the body of the equipment, there is a valve.
Disconnect the wires from the part.
Twist the fasteners that hold the plastic part in place and remove it.
Install the new valve by tightening the fasteners and connecting the wires.
Connect the washing machine to the systems and run a test wash to check the correctness of the work done.

Doesn't pick up powder or rinse aid

The Vestel washing machine is not protected from manufacturing defects, and they often affect the filling valves. This may not be noticed immediately, since the valve functions, but during operation it stops opening completely. This leads to a long collection of water, which does not pick up the powder. As a result, the laundry does not wash properly.

The defect cannot be corrected, so you need to select a new valve. To do this you need:

Find a filling valve that suits your specific model;
Disconnect the washing machine not only from the voltage, but also from all other communications;
It is necessary to remove the top panel of household washing equipment. You can deal with this yourself or contact a repairman;
You should find a hose; the fill valve will be located below. It looks like a small plastic product. You need to disconnect it from the sensor;
The valve is firmly fixed, and to remove it, you need to unscrew all the elements;
The part is installed in the same place as the hose. It is necessary to connect it to the sensor correctly, otherwise the washing machine will fail again and will require repair. After installation, you need to start checking and see if the unit works.

Do-it-yourself repair of models from this manufacturer is rarely required, and even less often you have to invite a specialist. If the quality of the laundry has deteriorated, you should immediately check whether the hose and valve have been damaged during operation, or start repairing it yourself.

How can I find out about other breakdowns?

If you are a fan of self-repair, fault codes will help you find and eliminate faults in time. The most common of them:

E01 (in models without a display, the first 2 of 4 indicators are lit) indicates UBL.
E03 (the first and last lights are lit) - code for a blockage (other failure) of the drain system.
E05 (second and last lamps) indicate a burnt-out temperature sensor.
E07 (the first three lights are on) - failure of the electronic module.
E08 (the last three indicators come on) - the electric motor has broken down.

Removing the blockage from the filter

What is the first thing to do when this trouble code is detected? The garbage filter should be checked. It is located in front of the washing machine, behind a small hatch. The door is usually secured with latches; you may need a slotted screwdriver to open it. However, in some Vestel washing machines the hatch can be opened freely by hand.

Before starting work, be sure to de-energize the MAS and close the shut-off valve.

After opening the hatch, do not rush to remove the catch filter. Water accumulates in the drain system, which will flow as soon as you begin to unscrew the filter element. Therefore, it is better to cover the floor in front of the washing machine with rags, or place a container under the body to collect liquid.

Next you need to unscrew the garbage filter. It will be possible to detect adhered dirt, hair, and debris accumulation. The filter element is washed in warm water. You can take a sponge with an abrasive coating and thoroughly clean the surface from plaque. It is not recommended to use hot water for cleaning; this can lead to deformation of the part and loss of elasticity of the seal.

Once the catch filter is “sparkling clean,” you can proceed to inspect the seat. Shine a flashlight through the hole and pull out hair, lint, dirt, and foreign objects from inside. Wipe the walls with a wet rag or the same sponge, removing any adhering dirt from them.

Looking even deeper, you can see the impeller. Remove any debris that may be stuck or wrapped around it. Insert a long stick into the hole and twist its wings. If the movement of the impeller is blocked, then this may be the cause of the error. After all procedures, it is necessary to put the filter in its original place. It is inserted into the hole as smoothly as possible. The lid is screwed clockwise.

If the problem was a clogged garbage filter or impeller, then the actions taken should help correct the situation. Start the washer, turn on the “Rinse” mode and check the machine for leaks. If there are no leaks from under the garbage filter plug, you can close the hatch.

No indicator lights

If the machine does not show an error code and does not work, you should check the availability of power and the functionality of the electronic module. When power is restored and the program fails, the machine should display an error code. By acting according to it, you can return the machine to a working condition.
