You went into the kitchen and saw an H error on the Atlant refrigerator. The message may appear on the display:
- refrigeration compartment;
- freezer, and at the same time the alarm may beep, an additional signal in the form of a red bell or exclamation mark may flash;
- both cameras.
Main sound and light indicators in Atlant refrigerators
The light indication is represented by 4 multi-colored lights (red, yellow and a pair of green):
- The red indicator located on the front panel lights up when the temperature in the freezer compartment rises above the required temperature. This happens when the refrigerator is connected to the power supply after defrosting, when there is a large amount of warm, not yet cooled food in the chamber, or when the door is open for a long time to place or unload food. After the compartment temperature reaches the set value, the light should go out. Usually 10 minutes is enough for this.
- When the green indicators for the freezer and refrigerator compartments are on, they are constantly on and indicate normal operation. If there is a power outage or the refrigerator is disconnected from the network, it goes out.
- The yellow light comes on when you turn on the “Freeze” mode with the key. When the required temperature is reached, the indicator will go off. It is worth remembering that operating the equipment in this mode for more than 12 hours is undesirable.
The first standard sound indicator is an alarm that sounds when the refrigerator door is open for more than 30 seconds. The “beeping” stops the moment it closes.
The second sound reminder relates to “Freeze”: a signal sounds when the door is opened while the mode is on.
Description of errors
Modern refrigerators, especially those with the No Frost system, are complex equipment with electronic components. In its work, errors often occur due to improper operation and manufacturing defects. Elimination of these faults has a favorable outcome only if the technician identifies the exact cause of the breakdown.
The most common problems:
- Water leaking in or under the refrigerator.
- Ice on the walls in the freezer.
- Loud humming, noise and vibration.
- Insufficient cooling and freezing of food.
- Compressor failure.
- The refrigerator is freezing more than usual.
- One of the cameras is not working.
- Freon leak.
Troubleshooting
Some faults can be dealt with on your own: both identified and eliminated. Others will require a specialist to diagnose and repair.
Diagnostics by error code
If the built-in electronic control units receive erroneous information, they will indicate a problem and display an error code on the display. The Atlant refrigerator indicates errors with the following combinations of symbols:
- Fault code F1 indicates a breakdown of the refrigerator compartment temperature sensor (R1).
- F2 indicates a fault in the refrigerator compartment evaporator sensor (R2). If your model is equipped with the Full No Frost function, this signal refers to the freezer compartment.
- F3: The freezer thermostat (R3) is not working properly. Full No Frost uses this code to indicate a problem with the freezer evaporator sensor or defrost circuit.
- Error F4 indicates a decrease in voltage, less than 170 V. Most often, this problem occurs in the afternoon or evening, when electrical appliances are turned on for a large number of users.
- Atlant refrigerator, error 5F - how to fix it yourself. Increased voltage, above 250-255 V, leads to the display of code F5 on the display. After the indicator is normalized, the designation will disappear. If the error appears too often, you should contact the service center. Below we will consider what such an indication may be associated with.
- In double-compressor refrigerators, there are frequent cases of malfunctions F6 and F7 - in the operation of the motors of the refrigeration and freezer compartments, respectively.
- A flashing “H” symbol (from the English “high” - high) displayed on the display indicates an increase in temperature in one (1 letter “H”) or both (2 letters “H”) compartments. The “L” symbol that appears (from the English “low” - low) warns of the opposite - freezing of food.
- E1/E2: Code E1 indicates a malfunction in the evaporator heater in the freezer, and E2 indicates incorrect operation of the evaporator defrost system.
The code designations are specified in the operating instructions for the device.
Repair
In specialized service centers, technicians conduct diagnostics to decide how to eliminate the F5 error in the Atlant refrigerator. This is not always due to a faulty socket, plug or cord. The electronic control module often fails, requiring replacement of the board or its components.
It is unlikely that you will be able to figure out on your own how to resolve the E2 error in the Atlant refrigerator. This malfunction is associated with a malfunction in the auto-defrost system and a malfunction of the evaporator thermostat. You have to change the sensor, and in some cases the module itself.
How to eliminate error F7 in the Atlant refrigerator: if the problem is not a simple power surge or a “glitch” of the control controller, you will need repair or complete replacement of the board, compressor or its contacts.
What does error F5 mean?
Error code F5 reports increased voltage in the network, it is above 250-260 Volts.
Causes that you can eliminate yourself
The reasons why the Atlant refrigerator shows error F5 are, as a rule, not related to a breakdown, and can be easily eliminated on your own or with the help of an electrician. Here is a list of possible problems.
- Increased voltage in the electrical network is the most common cause of error F5 . Typically, the voltage increases at night, when there is little load on the network from users. That's why the error lights up at night, and you find it in the morning. Contact the management company. It would also be a good idea to install a voltage stabilizer for all household appliances.
- Connection to the mains via an extension cord. Some users manage to connect the refrigerator via an extension cord. Make a separate outlet for the refrigerator and connect it there.
- The socket is faulty. Contact an electrician to repair or replace it.
- The refrigerator's power plug or cord is damaged. In this case, you need to completely change the cord and plug. You can handle this yourself or call an electrician.
- Single failure of the control unit. Unplug the Atlant refrigerator from the outlet, and after 5-10 minutes turn it on again. Perhaps the error will disappear and will not appear again.
If the voltage in the network is normal (220 V), the refrigerator is correctly connected to the electrical network, the socket, plug and power cord are working, then a breakdown has occurred and the help of a technician is required.
Possible breakdowns
Occasionally, error F 5 in the Atlant refrigerator may indicate a malfunction of the control unit.
Electronic controller (control module) - from 1800 rubles*
The control module's firmware is faulty, the microcircuit elements are faulty, or the traces are burnt out/rotted. The technician calls the control board, finds faulty components and repairs the control unit:

What errors can you remove yourself?
Not all faults are so serious and require calling a technician. You can troubleshoot the Atlant refrigerator yourself, thereby saving time and money.
Errors F2 and F3 often appear due to a “glitch” of the control unit. Try unplugging the refrigerator for 10 minutes. The problem should go away.
How to eliminate error F5 in the Atlant refrigerator or remove error F4: take voltage readings with a multimeter and eliminate voltage surges. Replacing the outlet, cord or plug can help here. In addition, when there is no access to a fixed outlet, and the equipment is connected through a surge protector/extension cord, the number of connections increases.
If, after defrosting the Atlant refrigerator, the upper chamber does not freeze, there may be several reasons:
- The door is not tightly closed and warm air enters the upper compartment.
- Densely packed shelves that interfere with air circulation.
- Incorrect defrosting process, rare defrosting.
- The location of the refrigerator near heating objects and batteries.
Many housewives are faced with a problem when an exclamation mark lights up on the appliance (Atlant refrigerator) after defrosting. In this case, you need to wait: perhaps the refrigerator needs more time to reach temperature. A freezer completely filled with food can take up to 24 hours.
If “H” is flashing on the Atlant refrigerator, how to fix this error:
- Wait up to 24 hours until the equipment reaches the required temperature values. This happens when a new refrigerator is connected to the power supply or after defrosting, as well as when a large amount of food is loaded into the chamber.
- Turn on the “Freeze” mode to speed up the process.
- Defrost the refrigerator. Ice crusts and a thick layer of snow prevent the engine from working at full capacity.
Having information about how the Atlant refrigerator indicates errors, you can try to fix the problem at home. If this fails, you will have to contact specialists.
Household refrigeration equipment uses microprocessor-based control units that detect component failures and inform the owner by displaying a digital or alphabetic message on the display. For example, the F5 error displayed on the display of the Atlant refrigerator indicates an unacceptably high voltage in the electrical network, which can cause irreversible damage.
Malfunctions of Atlant refrigerators and their elimination
Working equipment does not create problems and does not force you to pay attention to your work. This means that the chambers are maintained at a stable temperature, dry, and free of foreign odors. The unit operates in the usual mode, there are sounds of condensate draining, and the motor is turned on without knocking, vibration or whistling.
If there is any malfunction of the Atlant refrigerator, a mode deviation signal is triggered - the red light is on. Please note when refrigerated:
- stopped freezing;
- the cycle is disrupted - long breaks or prolonged operation of the compressor;
- extraneous noise;
- puddles appeared inside or outside the chamber;
- there is no lighting in the cell.
To accurately determine the cause of a particular deviation, you need to carry out diagnostics - identify possible malfunctions based on signs, checking the instructions, the design of the model of a single or double-chamber Atlant refrigerator and repair them
Has the refrigerator stopped freezing completely or in one compartment? Check how the device reacts to the thermostat. Make sure that the circuit is tight and the seal is in good condition. It is important to ensure that the appliance is well ventilated from outside. If the operating conditions have not changed, the reason is in the cooling circuit or thermostat.
Is your cycle broken? The thermostat gives the command to turn on the compressor, and it also supports regulation. If the compressor runs for a long time, there may be not enough freon in the system or the temperature sensor is faulty. If the temperature in the refrigerator compartment drops to minus, you need to check the thermostat.
Extraneous noise may indicate a faulty suspension, worn out shaft seat, or a defect in the compressor. Maybe the device is close to another, the vibration increases.
If puddles appear inside the chamber during drip defrosting, the condensate extraction hole on the “crying” wall is clogged. Water underneath? The condensate tray or the tube above it has probably moved. They are located above the compressor and should be corrected.
The camera is illuminated when the contacts on the door are closed by a button. It may break or jam. Light bulbs burn out over time. If there is damage in the electrical circuit, you need a specialist.
How to prevent refrigeration repairs?
To avoid unnecessary costs, you must use the Atlant refrigerator correctly. The red “Attention” light is on in some cases due to opening the door too often and holding it in this position for a long time. Therefore, you should not open the refrigerator door unless necessary, and you should also slam it immediately. If you find burning or blinking lights in a refrigeration unit, it is better to entrust the troubleshooting to an experienced technician, since repairing household appliances is a serious and dangerous matter that requires certain skills.
All Atlant brand refrigerators have color indicators. They signal the owner about possible failures, operating modes and system errors. The case when the red “attention” light is on on the Atlant two-chamber refrigerator indicates that a malfunction has occurred. Let's look at why the operation fails and what to do in this case. First, you should study the reasons why the light bulb blinks, and then eliminate them.
The red light is on
Error codes
made sure that consumers could get an idea of what caused the incorrect operation of the equipment. To do this, the instructions included information about what a particular error code means. The most common ones are:
- F1 indicates that the air sensor has failed. In some cases, a complete replacement of the element will be required. You need to check the wiring and how tightly the contacts are connected.
- Error F2 of the Atlant refrigerator indicates problems with the evaporator sensor. All parts are inspected, including the cable leading to the sensor. Faulty components are replaced with new ones.
- F3 means that the freezer sensor or some of its elements is broken.
- Error F4 appears when the mains voltage is below 170 V. The problem is solved when the desired value is restored.
- F5 means that due to external factors the voltage has risen above 260 V, and the system protects the equipment from overheating.
- F6 gives a signal that the problem is in the freezer motor. This may damage the entire refrigerator.
- F7 reports that the freezer compressor has burnt out.
- The L icon indicates that the chamber temperature has dropped and needs to be adjusted.
- Error H indicates that the temperature in the compartments is above the permissible standard. The cause may be loosely closed doors or incorrect position of the thermostat. In some cases, defrosting helps.
- Atlant refrigerator error codes that begin with the letter E indicate a failure in the evaporator:
- E1 means that the heater is faulty: it may become covered with ice, which will prevent the free rotation of the fan blades;
- if error E2 is displayed, this indicates damage to the defrost system, which is easier to repair.
How the diagnostic system works and general definitions
To monitor the condition of equipment, software and electronic integrated solutions are used. Sensor readings are sent to the data processing unit. If there is a deviation from normal parameters, an alert signal is given. Individual items are checked continuously. According to others - only when starting the diagnostic program. If, for example, e2 error is displayed for a Siemens refrigerator
, this means that the process of measuring the temperature in the freezer is not happening correctly. Generally, replacing the evaporator sensor is recommended. But experienced professionals know that precise localization of the problem is more difficult. Insufficient compressor performance can also disrupt the freezing mode set by the manufacturer. Errors on refrigerators are recorded using direct and indirect methods. The fact of a break in the electrical circuit is determined simply. This event can be used to monitor the complete closing of the refrigerator door by installing the appropriate sensor. If you check the temperature change, you will be able to register its abnormal increase in the chamber in time. It may be caused by the same reason.
The above examples indicate that sometimes only an experienced technician can accurately localize problems. But if error a2 or another appears on the information display of the refrigerator, any user will be able to draw certain conclusions if they know the decoding of the codes. In modern household appliances of this type, the following parameters are controlled:
- Temperature outside, inside the refrigerator and freezer compartments, separate boxes and ice generating devices.
- The performance of fans, compressor, mechanical components of ice makers, heating element of the defrosting system, valves.
- Mains voltage.
- Closing the freezer/refrigeration volume.
- Functional state of adjustment keys and buttons, internal electrical wiring, sensors, display and control unit.
It should be noted that refrigerator error a2
(different code) may have different meanings. It is imperative to take into account the features of a particular model of equipment and the manufacturer’s recommendations for troubleshooting and troubleshooting technologies.
Atlant two-chamber refrigerator malfunction
A two-chamber refrigerator can have one or two compressors. If there is only one compressor, the two chambers are interdependent in the distribution of refrigerant between the two evaporators. Electronic or manual regulation is used. The Atlant refrigerator with two compressors has independent chambers; one can be stopped for defrosting or repairs.
In the event of a malfunction of the Atlant two-chamber refrigerator, the red light comes on - the “Attention” signal. You can fix the problem yourself, or call a specialist, depending on the circumstances.
Is your refrigerator loud? Arm yourself with a screwdriver and wrench. Disconnect the device from power. Unfold it and strengthen the thermal relay - it is somehow freed from the ties. Then tighten all the fasteners of the motor-compressor suspensions and adjust them.
The temperature in the Atlant two-chamber refrigerator is not low enough - change the setting on the thermostat and check the tightness of the door to the opening. Perhaps it is because of this malfunction that the red light is on.
If there is no light in the camera, check if the light bulb is intact. Replace it with another identical one. Touch the button to make sure it is working properly. If everything is in order, but the light does not light, call a specialist.
You should entrust the diagnosis and repair of a two-chamber Atlant refrigerator to a specialist when special devices and analysis of the circuit are required. Possible malfunctions in the cooling system are determined by the condition of the compressor, evaporator and the presence of freon. If there is a malfunction in this unit, the refrigerator often does not freeze at all.
Most often, in a manually controlled two-chamber Atlant refrigerator, faults in the refrigerating chamber are associated with a broken thermostat. This device commands the compressor to maintain the temperature within a certain range. A failure in regulation leads to a longer cycle between starts or the compressor does not turn off at all.
Only a master can determine such a malfunction in the Atlant refrigerator as a violation of the electrical wiring. He can light the bulb again, find a breakdown in the body and insulate the wire.
Remedies
You can fix malfunctions in the Atlant refrigerator yourself, if they are not associated with the breakdown of expensive and complex units. If the indicator does not stop flashing, you should:
- Make sure the freezer and refrigerator doors are tightly closed. Their loose fit may be due to the incorrect position of the refrigerator (tilt or skew) during installation.
- If the settings are lost, you should set the thermostat to the desired mode. When setting this parameter to the system, it is necessary to take into account the number of products that are in the chamber, the frequency of door openings and the temperature in the room.
- If the letter “H” does not stop blinking, you need to remove all the drawers from the freezer and inspect the back wall. A layer of ice appears on it due to design flaws in the refrigerator. When you open the freezer door, the fan does not turn off, taking warm and humid air out of the room. The resulting moisture settles around the fan blades in the form of a dense coating of frost and blocks its operation. To restore the system's functionality, you need to completely defrost the refrigerator and turn it on after 24 hours.
- The problem may be with the camera's lighting. If the light does not turn off when the door is closed, the temperature inside the refrigerator will gradually increase. Having experience working with electricity, you can fix the problem yourself or contact customer service.
- The presence of warm food in the refrigerator does not allow maintaining the required temperature. You should wait until they cool down and the previously set temperature appears on the indicator.
- A loose seal on the doors can be put back in its original place, but a worn one should be replaced.
- If a freon leak occurs, you need to check the capillary tube, Schrader valve and filter drier for damage. If the tube is coated with oil, it must be sealed and then recharged with refrigerant. It is better to entrust such work to specialists.
- Flashing of the “H” indicator may be due to a compressor failure. If it does not turn off, you need to call a technician who will determine the cause of its malfunction and fix it by replacing the necessary parts. If the compressor cannot be repaired, it will have to be replaced.
- The clogged capillary tube should be cleaned, new filter-driers should be installed and freon should be refilled.
- If the temperature controller fails, you need to call a service center technician who will repair it or replace it with a new one.
Typical malfunctions of Atlant two-compressor refrigerators
The Atlant two-chamber refrigerator, which has 2 compressors for cooling the cold chamber and the freezer, is structurally more complex than with one. When No Frost defrosting is installed in the freezer, a more complex thermostat is used here. The device not only regulates cooling, but also includes a thermocouple to remove ice from the evaporator. Malfunctions in it are diagnosed as error codes on an electronic display. The following are added to the breakdowns typical for Atlant models:
- one of the cameras does not work;
- the body receives an electric shock;
- the display indicates error F5.
The Atlant two-chamber two-compressor refrigerator, with independent cooling circuits, is easier to troubleshoot. The two schemes can be tested independently. Error F5 is a signal about voltage surges in the electrical network. The protection does not allow the device to turn on while the parameters are unstable. The best solution would be to install a voltage stabilizer.
Refrigerator Atlant - error F5
Error F5 appeared on the display of my Atlant refrigerator, which disappeared after about an hour, and then the next day it appeared and disappeared again. And so it has been for the last few days. Is this something serious?
F5 is an error code for Atlant refrigerators, which indicates unstable mains voltage. The message appears on all models equipped with displays, regardless of the defrost system. Causes of problems:
- The voltage exceeds 250 V.
- Incorrect network connection.
- Problems with the socket or plug.
- Random electronic failure.
If the voltage is too high or sudden surges with a large amplitude, the protection system is triggered, which turns off the operation of the refrigerator and displays an error code. When the voltage stabilizes, the device will continue to operate.
Refrigerators must be connected directly to the network. Connecting through an extension cord or tee may cause a failure in the power system, which will result in an error.
Brand "Atlant": characteristics and reviews
Atlant refrigeration equipment is in great demand and is widely represented on the Russian market. Despite the fact that Atlant is a Belarusian brand, the build quality is in no way inferior to European equipment.
A wide range of models, constant improvement, high energy efficiency class, as well as the use of highly environmentally friendly materials - all these are the main advantages of Belarusian refrigerators. The filling of refrigerators is made of environmentally friendly plastic and impact-resistant glass, and the units are filled with safe R600a refrigerant.
Also, the advantages of Belarusian refrigerators are their simple and clear design, the availability of a choice between single-chamber and double-chamber devices, and the ability to select a refrigerator according to individual parameters. In addition, the absence of newfangled touch screens and electronic controls, which most modern models are equipped with, allows you to avoid unnecessary breakdowns and reduce purchase costs.
By choosing the Antlant refrigerator, you can hope for long-term and convenient operation. It is important not to neglect the rules for using the equipment and in case of any malfunction, contact a specialized service center.
Malfunctions of 1 compressor refrigerator Atlant
A single-compressor refrigerator, with two cooling zones, uses a common heat extraction circuit. In this case, first of all, the refrigerant is supplied to the freezer, then it is supplied for cooling to a chamber with a positive temperature.
Problems requiring specialized repairs include:
- Compressor malfunctions:
- accumulation of snow and ice in chambers;
- one of the cameras is not working.
If the red light is on, an analysis of the situation is necessary.
If the refrigerator does not work in a single-compressor model, but the freezer does, then you need to check whether the fan blades that displace cold air are covered with ice. The fan may need to be replaced. The evaporator heater, which is responsible for defrosting the ice, may have broken down. The ice will melt and the fan will start working.
The temperature in the refrigerator will increase if the light inside the compartment is on. The door seals need to be checked. You cannot set the maximum values on the regulators - the freezer will receive its portion of cold, but the refrigerator compartment will not have enough of it. Meanwhile, the equipment is working to the point of wear and tear, not far from an accident.
When everything is fine, although the H icon is on on the Atlant refrigerator
Error H on the display does not always indicate a breakdown. Often the reason is related to the normal operation of the refrigerator or the forgetfulness of the owners. Here are typical situations when everything is in order with the Atlant refrigerator.
- You just turned on the Atlant refrigerator: new or after defrosting. The temperature in the chambers drops to the set value gradually. Therefore, at first, a message about increased temperature appears on the display.
- You have put a lot of food in the freezer or refrigerator compartment. For this reason, the temperature in one of the chambers or both rose, and the temperature sensor responded to its increase. You can wait until the food cools gradually, or use special fast freezing and/or cooling modes.
- You put something hot in the refrigerator compartment. Error H can be caused by a situation where something hot is placed inside the Atlant refrigerator: a pot of soup, a frying pan or a plate of hot food. Wait until the temperature drops to the specified values, and the error will disappear on its own. From now on, do not put hot food in the refrigerator compartment, let it cool down.
- The freezer is overgrown with snow and ice. If the freezer is not equipped with the No Frost system, it must be defrosted manually in time. Otherwise, a thick coat of ice and snow acts as a thermal pad, and the temperature in the chamber rises. This is what the H indication on the freezer display indicates. To fix the error, you need to defrost the refrigerator.
- The compartment door is not closed. If the door of the refrigerator or freezer compartment is accidentally left open, after a while the refrigerator will signal an increased temperature with this error. Check how the products are stacked, they may get in the way. If everything is in order, it means the door was simply not pressed properly.
What to do when the code is on, although the refrigerator has not been defrosted, the door is normally closed, and the food has been put in for a long time? Call a technician because the Atlant refrigerator displays error H due to a breakdown.
The temperature on the Samsung refrigerator is flashing: causes and solutions to the problem
Have you discovered that your Samsung refrigerator is blinking, and the temperature in the chamber has increased noticeably, although the compressor is operating normally? Do not delay diagnosis, because a flashing temperature indicator can indicate such serious breakdowns:
- malfunction of the motor-compressor - decompression, interturn short circuit, etc.;
- malfunction of the thermostat;
- failure of the temperature sensor;
- burnout of the electronic control board.
Important! If your Samsung refrigerator is brand new but has started flashing, no need to worry. Newly installed equipment needs up to two days to reach the desired temperature and return to normal mode.
If your Samsung model has a display, then the error code R5 may light up on it (not typical for all models). If the display shows the chamber mode, pay attention to the temperature indicator for the refrigerating chamber - it must correspond to the specified parameters. If you clearly remember that you set one value, but another is lit on the display, it is possible that the temperature is rising and there is nothing left before a fatal breakdown.
Fact! The optimal temperature of the upper chamber according to world standards, depending on the zone, ranges from +1 to +9 degrees.
Possible malfunctions with the letter H on the Atlanta display
Atlant refrigerators are very popular in Russia. Their breakdowns are often accompanied by error N. We have repaired thousands of such refrigerators. Here is a rating of breakdowns that had to be fixed when such an error occurred.
The compressor broke down - from RUB 1,900*
The motor-compressor may burn out, short out or seize. In the first case, the compressor will not start at all, in the second - it will turn on and then turn off, in the third - the motor will hum, but there will be no cold.
In single-compressor models, Atlant will warm up in both compartments, and an error will appear on both parts of the temperature display. On models with two motors, the H indication will flash on the part of the display whose motor-compressor has failed.
To fix the problem, you will have to replace the compressor.
The door seal has lost its shape - from RUB 1,200*
When the seal is damaged, dirty or worn, the door does not fit tightly. The compartment is constantly filled with warm air, and the temperature sensor transmits a signal to the control module that the refrigerator is warm. In this case, the motor-compressor works constantly and does not turn off.
More often, this breakdown occurs in the refrigerator compartment, because it is used more actively than the freezer, so its seal wears out faster.
The rubber seal needs to be replaced.
Refrigerator door hinges are deformed or damaged - from RUB 1,200*
The refrigerator door itself is quite heavy, and in addition it is loaded with food on the shelves. Therefore, the hinges become loose and/or deformed, the door warps, does not close well, and gaps appear through which warm air from the room penetrates into the refrigerator. The temperature in the chamber rises and the H code appears on the display. The compressor rarely turns off.
Broken hinges are more common on refrigerator doors because they are used more often. But the freezer compartment sometimes also suffers: small children love to ride on it.
To get rid of the error, you need to tighten the hinges or replace them.
Faulty temperature sensor - from 1400 rubles*
An overtemperature error appears if the temperature sensor that turns on the cooling has failed and the control module does not receive a signal from it. For this reason, the refrigerator does not turn on and it becomes warm inside.
Depending on which camera’s thermal sensor has failed, an error appears on that part of the display. If the temperature sensor that turns on the cooling is common to both chambers, then error H lights up on both parts of the display, and there is heat in both compartments.
To restore the operation of the refrigerator and clear the error message, the temperature sensor is replaced with a new one.
Freon leak - from 1800 RUR*
A refrigerant leak leads to an overload of the compressor, which does not shut down. But even constant operation of the motor cannot provide the required amount of cooling. The refrigerator loses freon, the temperature in one (if the refrigerator has two compressors) or in both chambers rises, and Atlant displays code H. Sometimes ice may build up in the compartments. After defrosting the refrigerator, it does not turn on at all.
The main places of leakage are: the heating circuit of the freezer perimeter, the “crying” evaporator, locking connections. The technician will determine the place where the freon is leaving and carry out the necessary repairs: cut the heating circuit, replace the “crying” evaporator (if it is in the foamed part, the technician will install a hinged one inside the refrigerator compartment) or make a new locking connection.
The capillary pipeline is clogged - from RUB 1,800*
Sometimes the Atlant refrigerator displays error H on the display due to a clogged capillary tube. The diameter of the capillary is minimal, and the lumen is easily clogged with paraffins. They are formed when freon comes into contact with contaminated compressor oil.
The refrigerant does not flow well through the clogged tube, and the compressor is forced to work almost continuously to cool the chambers. But even these efforts are not enough, and the temperature rises, and error H blinks on the display. In a single-compressor refrigerator, both chambers suffer, in a two-compressor refrigerator, only one.
Usually the technician changes the capillary tube. But in mild cases, when the blockage is partial, the technician pushes through the blockage with a special jack.
Defrost does not work (in Atlant Full No Frost models) - from 1400 rubles*
The system fails due to a blown fuse, a failed defroster sensor, a burnt-out heating element, or a faulty timer. It will be warm in the refrigerator compartment, but there will be ice in the freezer. A temporary solution is to defrost the refrigerator. Within one to two weeks, both cameras will work normally, and then the error will appear again.
It is necessary to replace the faulty part in the defrost system.
The fan is faulty (in Atlant Full No Frost models) - from 1800 rubles*
Usually the motor burns out or the blades break. The refrigerator compartment does not cool and the error H flashes on the display.
The fan needs to be replaced.
The damper does not work (in Atlant with No Frost in both chambers) - from 1600 rubles*
It is stuck in the “closed” position. Therefore, air from the freezer compartment evaporator does not enter the refrigerator compartment. The temperature in the chamber rises, and the sensor signals the control board about the increase in temperature and an error lights up.
The damper needs to be repaired or replaced.
Solenoid valve - from RUB 1,300*
Installed in Atlant models with one compressor, but separate temperature control in the compartments. Works in two modes:
If the valve is stuck in the “we only cool the freezer compartment” position, the refrigerator compartment will be warm. Therefore, the refrigerator will display error H on the part of the display responsible for the refrigerator compartment.
A new valve needs to be installed.
Reed switch door closing sensor - from 1400 RUR*
A faulty limit switch prevents the refrigerator compartment light from going out. Although its power is small, during prolonged operation it heats the air inside the refrigerator. As a result, an alarm is triggered and error H is displayed on the display of the refrigerator compartment.
The reed sensor needs to be replaced.

Minor problems: causes and solutions
Serviceable equipment works without failures, does not create extraneous sounds - the motor does not knock, condensate drainage is not heard, and the cabinet body does not vibrate. Problems manifest themselves by disruption of the cooling cycle, the appearance of puddles outside and inside the chamber, lack of lighting and other signs.
In order to solve the problem in a timely manner, you need to know the principle of operation of the refrigerator and understand the cause-and-effect relationships of a particular breakdown. You can fix some malfunctions yourself.
#1. Vibration during operation
If the device is noisy, then first you need to eliminate all minor causes of the “sound effect”. If self-diagnosis does not produce results, you will have to call a technician from their service center to repair the Atlant refrigerator.
The hum of the unit. Possible causes of excessive noise:
- the refrigerator is located very close to the walls and furniture - due to the vibration of the motor, adjacent elements rumble;
- operation of the unit with maximum performance - if the thermostat is set to the highest value, the load on the motor-compressor increases;
- commissioning - the first week of operation the unit freezes louder than usual;
- sudden changes in voltage.
A more serious cause of hum is a breakdown of the electric motor. Possible wear on rings and pistons.
Knocking and vibration. Rattling and slight shaking can be caused by uneven floors or improper placement of dishes inside the refrigerator.
A common cause of knocking is vibration of the compressor housing suspension. Solution to the problem: place a piece of rubber under the part and tighten the bolts. The substrate will absorb vibration and reduce rattling
The motor-compressor may also knock if the shock absorber fastenings are loose. To restore quiet operation, simply tighten the fasteners. Sometimes the tubes on the back of the unit make noise. They cannot be moved, but to reduce knocking, a seal can be placed under them.
A possible reason for the knocking noise of the new refrigerator is the transport fastenings of the electric motor that have not been removed.
If the steps taken do not help resolve the problem, then it is better to invite a technician from a nearby service center to diagnose. A metallic sound when the refrigerator compressor starts/stops may indicate that it is broken and needs to be replaced.
Creak and crackle. These sounds may indicate the following problems:
- wear of the electric motor and rapid failure of the part;
- The freezer fan clings to the ice - possibly during prolonged use without defrosting.
When the temperature in the kitchen changes, the plastic walls of the chamber may crack slightly - this phenomenon is not critical and does not need to be eliminated. A characteristic creaking noise can be observed if the refrigerator is installed incorrectly.
The recommended distance from the walls to the sides of the device is 25 mm. The clearance from the rear panel of the case is at least 7-10 cm. This gap is necessary for normal air circulation in the area of the motor-compressor
Refrigerator hissing and whistling. These sounds are usually caused by clogged capillary tubes or debris getting on the fan blades. A faulty compressor makes similar sounds. To solve every problem, the help of a specialist is required.
Brief gurgling and howling noises are sometimes associated with intense movement of refrigerant.
#2. Insufficient cooling temperature
If you hear the sound of a functioning refrigerator compressor, a light comes on in the chamber, but the temperature does not drop, then the first thing you need to do is eliminate typical operating errors:
- Incorrect thermostat position . Perhaps the knob is set to position “1” - minimum cooling. It is necessary to turn the thermostat to the desired value, depending on the amount of food inside the compartment, the frequency of door opening and the temperature inside the room.
- The door does not fit tightly. Due to slight misalignment or mixing, the seal of the chamber is broken. The door must be re-hung and the temperature in the refrigerator compartment checked after a while.
Temperature problems also occur for more serious reasons: freon leak, clogged capillary tube or compressor failure.
The above-mentioned failures in single-compressor Atlant models lead to the inoperability of the freezer and refrigeration compartments at the same time. Two-compressor units have independent cooling circuits - if one fails, the second continues to work
Insufficient cold production may be the result of a broken control board, a defective motor or thermostat. Correcting any situation requires the participation of a qualified technician.
#3. Appearance of snow on the inner wall
The formation of a snow or ice crust inside the refrigerator compartment is caused by one of the following reasons:
- incorrect choice of temperature;
- non-compliance with operating conditions;
- clogged drainage tube;
- leakage of working substance in the evaporator;
- temperature sensor failure.
The first three reasons must be eliminated independently. It is necessary to check the tightness of the refrigerator closure and change the cooling mode. If the unit operates at maximum performance on a hot day, the cooling will not stop - the walls do not have time to thaw.
Belarusian models are equipped with a defrost sensor. The element begins to work incorrectly if hot pots and containers are placed in the refrigerator. The same effect is caused by an excessive flow of warm air from the room into the chamber.
When the drainage system is clogged, drops of moisture accumulate and frost freezes on the walls. To fix the problem, just defrost the refrigerator and clean the drain channel
#4. Water inside the chamber or under the refrigerator
The appearance of water under the unit or inside the refrigerator compartment can be caused by various reasons.
The most common ones are:
- Breakdown of the defrosting system. A malfunction of the evaporator heating element of a unit with the No Frost function leads to the accumulation of water in the refrigerator compartment.
- Thermostat malfunction. The only correct solution is to contact technical support to replace the structural element.
- Clogged drainage channel. Water droplets flowing down the inner wall do not find a way out and accumulate at the bottom of the refrigerator compartment.
- Disconnecting the water pipe. The liquid flows through the drain hole directly onto the floor and not into the tank. Eliminating the problem is returning the drainage circuit to its place.
Periodically it is necessary to check the integrity of the tank itself. Over time, the material cracks and the container requires replacement.
A loose door connection leads to an increase in the temperature inside the refrigerator compartment, and as a result, the unit begins to freeze more intensely, forming ice on the walls. When warm air enters, the ice melts - part of the liquid accumulates inside, and part of it enters the reservoir and quickly overflows the reservoir.
Solution: adjusting door hinges or leveling the refrigerator. If the actions do not help, then you should check the quality of the seal and, if necessary, replace the worn part
#5. Long-term operation without shutdown
First, you should check the instructions for the operating time of the refrigerator without turning off in a certain mode. It is important to consider: the warmer the room, the longer the unit will freeze.
Some Atlant models have a “Quick Freeze” mode – the refrigerator continues to work for 10-12 hours. Moreover, the motor operates continuously until forced shutdown: pressing the switch key.
If the refrigerator has been running for a long time, be sure to check the position of the “freeze” button. The indicator on the top panel reminds you that this mode is activated - as a rule, it glows yellow
Another probable reason for prolonged operation is improper pressure of the thermostat. In single-chamber models and products with an evaporator plate, mounting tubes are provided on the back side. Through them, the thermostat is fixed to the evaporator element.
Over time, the screws rust, the clamp weakens, and the thermostat sensor begins to work incorrectly. Elimination of the defect - restoration of normal fasteners.
Operation without shutdown is also observed when the door is not tightly closed, the seal is worn, or the refrigerator is placed near heating devices.
Things are more complicated if the continuous operation of the device is caused by the following breakdowns:
- contamination of the capillary line;
- refrigerant leak;
- defect in the thermal control circuit or start-up relay.
The listed problems require the involvement of an experienced refrigeration equipment repair technician. Restoration of performance cannot be delayed, as there is a high risk of engine overheating.
#6. No lighting in the refrigerator compartment
The common cause of a malfunction is a burnt-out light bulb.
The solution to the problem is simple:
- Disconnect the refrigerator from the power supply.
- Remove the lampshade, unscrew the old one and install a new bulb.
- Return the lampshade to its place.
After all the manipulations, you need to connect the refrigerator to power and check the functionality of the backlight. If the problem is not solved, then the fault lies in the wiring. To further troubleshoot the problem, it is better to invite a specialist.
Error F5 - when you can fix it yourself
If your Atlant stops turning on and shows code F 5 on the display, you may be able to fix the error yourself. Here is a list of error causes that can be dealt with without the help of a wizard.
- High voltage in the network. To solve the problem, contact your electricity supply company. If the situation repeats, install a voltage stabilizer on the line with the refrigerator or on the entire apartment as a whole.
- One-time failure of the control module. Perhaps error F5 appeared due to a glitch in the control unit. Disconnect the refrigerator from the power supply for 10-15 minutes. If there was a failure, the board will “sag” and the error will disappear on its own.
- Incorrect electrical connection . The error occurs due to connecting the refrigerator through an extension cord. It is necessary to provide access to a fixed outlet.
- The socket is faulty. Contact an electrician to repair or replace the outlet.
- The cord and plug are faulty. Inspect the cord and plug. If there are visible damages, replacement with new ones is required.
If you can’t “defeat” the error using the above tips, it means it’s broken.
How to fix
To troubleshoot F 5 yourself, you should disconnect the refrigerator from the household network and check the voltage with a test device. If the value is normal (in the range of 220-240 V), you need to inspect the plug. Traces of carbon deposits on the surface and overheating of the contacts indicate poor contact; it is recommended to replace the internal mechanism of the socket; the plug is replaced along with the power cable. If the network voltage is high, you must contact your local power supply company. Error F 4 is eliminated in the same way.
To remove error H, you need to inspect the rubber sealing edge mounted around the freezer or refrigerator lid. When an element leaves the guide groove or when foreign objects get under the seal, air flows in from the warm room. A malfunction occurs when the thermostat breaks down, which incorrectly sets the temperature in the chamber, as well as when refrigerant leaks from the compressor and lines (detected by oiling of the tubes or when checked with a test pressure gauge in the service).
On some models, the malfunction disappears after forced defrosting of the equipment for 24-36 hours. It is also recommended to check the operation of the limit switch installed on the door. When using incandescent lamps for illumination, the generated heat warms the air in the chamber, triggering the emergency sensor. The sensor may turn on briefly after loading the chamber with a large amount of high-temperature products.
If errors occur in the operation of the compressors (F6 or F7), you can try to dismantle the control relay and check the resistance of the windings and the absence of short circuits to the housing. A serviceable start winding has a resistance of 20-30 Ohms, a working winding has a resistance of up to 60 Ohms. If the value increases, the electric motor is considered unsuitable for further operation. It is possible to test the operation of the compressor without using a start relay by connecting the power cord directly to the terminals. If the error disappears, then the control relay is faulty or the power circuits are damaged.
The indication of the letter L is an error only when turned on continuously for more than 24 hours; the symbol turns on automatically when the accelerated freezing mode is activated. If the icon does not turn off, then the thermal regulator or power supply is faulty. The technician will determine the cause of the breakdown after diagnosing the components of the refrigeration unit. Error F2, which occurs due to incorrect operation of the sensors in the evaporator, cannot be eliminated on its own. It is necessary to replace the elements and replenish the refrigerant supply.
Codes E 2 and E 1 occur when there is no signal in the power supply circuits of the heating threads of the freezer (for automatic removal of frost). Repairing the parts yourself is not possible; it is recommended to check the condition of the fuses and contacts in the connectors. When water gets on metal surfaces, oxides are formed that do not allow electric current to pass through. Corroded areas are cleaned with sandpaper and coated with a special compound that repels water-based liquids.
What to do if H is flashing on the Atlant refrigerator
The Atlant refrigerator served you faithfully for many years, and then one day it began to show H on the display. The letter N flashed:
- on the refrigerator compartment display;
- on the display of the freezer compartment (at the same time, an alarm went off: a red bell on the refrigerator body flashed or an exclamation mark on the screen, perhaps the refrigerator beeped);
- on the screen of both the refrigerator and freezer compartments.
The refrigerator and/or freezer compartment may have become warm.
When error H disappears on its own or you can fix it yourself
- We just turned on the new Atlant refrigerator. It has not yet reached the set temperature, so two letters H are lit on the display. Wait up to a day, and the error will disappear on its own.
- Just turned on the refrigerator after defrosting. The situation is similar. The refrigerator needs time to reach its temperature after defrosting. As soon as it drops to the set value, the alarm indication will disappear.
- You have placed a large amount of food in the refrigerator or freezer compartment. The food is warm, so the temperature in the chamber has increased. The refrigerator takes time to cool or freeze them. Wait up to 24 hours or turn on the Freeze setting to quickly freeze food in the freezer.
- The refrigerator has not been defrosted for a long time (for models without No Frost with manual defrosting of the freezer) . Due to the large amount of ice, the cooling efficiency of the freezer decreased, the temperature in it increased, the alarm alarm sounded, and the letter H flashed on the freezer compartment display. Defrost the refrigerator and the error indication will disappear on its own.
- The refrigerator or freezer door is not closed. Check the tightness of the door; perhaps you forgot to close it.
