The main components of a gas water heater and the principle of its operation
All water heaters in the model range have a similar design.
- The main element and “heart” of the technical device is a copper heat exchanger - it consists of many hollow tubes. Cold water flows there. Gas vapors produced by the operation of the burner help heat the cold water inside the pipes.
- Regardless of the model, the Vector gas water heater is equipped with electric ignition, which simplifies the operation of the device and makes it safer, since there is no igniter, which has a constantly burning flame, albeit weak.
- After opening the tap, the water-gas unit begins its work. It consists of three parts: the gas unit itself (made of silumin), the adapter from the gas to the water unit (made of a combined alloy) and the water unit (made of brass). The gas valve begins to operate only when the required water pressure is available. The regulator is responsible for the timely supply of gas and controls its quantity so that leakage does not occur.
- A gas burner, made of stamped sheets, first burns the air mixture and then feeds it into a special combustion chamber.
- All by-products from this chamber must be removed through a gas outlet. It is made of thin steel. A sensor is installed in the gas outlet that turns off the column in the absence of normal draft. The thermal relay heats up under the influence of hot air and opens, which helps to stop the burner from working. This is another safety measure provided in the gas water heater.
- To protect against overheating, a temperature sensor is provided, which is installed exactly in the place of the heat exchanger where the peak water temperature is recorded - the best location. As soon as the water temperature reaches eighty degrees, he turns off the gas supply. In other words, the burner stops working.
- The fuse regulates the pressure. You can also drain the water from the column here.
