How to carry out the procedure correctly?

  • Before starting defrosting, read the instructions for the device, in particular, the section on caring for equipment.
  • Completely turn off the power to the refrigerator, and only then start cleaning.
  • It is advisable to move the equipment away from the wall to gain access to the back wall, where a lot of dust usually accumulates.
  • All contents of the freezer and refrigerator compartments will have to be removed, including all removable elements (trays, shelves, nets, containers, drawers).
  • Be sure to inspect your food items to throw out expired and rotten food.
  • Place dry rags at the bottom of the chambers to collect melt water.
  • Before washing, soak removable parts in a soapy solution - in a prepared large basin or bathtub.
  • While defrosting, keep the chamber doors open so that air circulates and the frost thaws faster.

It is better not to defrost the refrigerator in extreme heat - due to the huge temperature difference, the compressor will pump in cold for a long time and experience overload.

  • To clean external and internal surfaces, use a baking soda solution - it will act as an antiseptic and eliminate unpleasant odors.
  • It is allowed to treat the refrigerator with any household chemical that does not contain hard particles.
  • Do not use scrapers or brushes for cleaning as they will leave scratches.
  • During the washing process, do not forget about the far corners of the chambers and joints where microbes and molds like to live.
  • Don’t forget to clean the drain and ventilation holes (if they are present in the structure). The location of the holes must be indicated in the instructions for the unit.
  • Use a toothbrush and toothpaste to go around the entire perimeter of the rubber seal on the door. Just do not pull it too much so that it still remains elastic and fits well.
  • It is most convenient to clean the back wall (outer) with a vacuum cleaner with a narrow nozzle.
  • Finish the defrosting process by spraying the interior and exterior walls with antibacterial kitchen spray. It will serve as good protection against mold and germs.
  • Wipe all walls dry with a dry, clean cloth. If moisture remains in the chamber, condensation will soon appear again and cause you trouble.
  • Wipe dry not only the walls, but also all removable parts, jars and pans. And only after that, load everything into the refrigerator and arrange it in its place.

You don’t need to turn on the refrigerator for another 1-2 hours, but give it time for the odors to completely disappear and the moisture to evaporate.

All recommendations will also be relevant for Liebherr brand refrigerators, which are described in detail here.

Thank you for purchasing a SAMSUNG refrigerator!

!Please read this document carefully before using the refrigerator.

The information entitled “Warning” and “Note” is important to the operation of your refrigerator, so please read the information carefully.

Warning

Describes a requirement that, if not followed, could result in serious hazard.

Note

Describes a requirement that, if not followed, could result in minor injury or poor refrigerator performance.

Possible problems and their solutions

When using Samsung equipment, users encounter a number of problems:

  • An increase in temperature inside the chambers caused by frequent opening of the front doors. To correct the situation, you should leave the product locked for 1.5-3 hours, the temperature inside the case will return to normal. The malfunction occurs when there is no air circulation around the heat exchanger located on the rear wall of the housing. To improve cooling conditions, it is recommended to move the equipment away from the wall and provide a gap between the sides and the furniture.
  • When installing refrigeration equipment near heating radiators or under direct sunlight, the housing overheats, leading to an increase in the temperature background in the freezer or refrigerator compartment. It is necessary to move the product to another room or install protective heat shields.
  • The indicator installed on the door is broken. The defect occurs when rearranging door hinges due to an erroneous or loose connection of the plugs. To restore functionality, disconnect the connectors and then correctly connect the wiring harnesses.
  • Error when adjusting the equipment (incorrectly set cooling value). The problem can be solved by adjusting the settings in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Supply of warm water from a dispensing tap (used on some equipment modifications). To cool the liquid, air flows circulating in the refrigerating chamber are used; to reduce the temperature, it is necessary to increase the performance of the compressor.
  • Flashing of the display section displaying the temperature value in the refrigerator compartment. The defect occurs when the doors are open for a long time or after hot products are placed on the shelves. To eliminate the defect, you need to turn off the power for 10 minutes; after turning on and rebooting the controller, the blinking stops.
  • Freezing of food when located near the ventilation ducts in the refrigerator compartment is not a malfunction, since cooled air is supplied from the duct. It is recommended to move the products to another section or install a shelf at a distance from the ventilation window.

An additional reason is a breakdown of the electronic temperature measurement sensor or a break (oxidation) of the connecting harness. To restore the unit, you must contact a service center; independent intervention in the design of the refrigeration unit leads to irreversible damage to the units.

TRANSPORTATION AND INSTALLATION

PACKAGING AND TRANSPORTATION

1. When you unpack the refrigerator for inspection after transportation, remember the placement of all

accessories included with the refrigerator to make it more convenient to pack it if there is a need to transport it to another location. Before transportation, each accessory must be placed in its designated location.

2. When carrying the refrigerator, do not grasp it by the doors or door handles.

3. Protect the refrigerator from shock and vibration during transportation.

4. Carry the refrigerator in an upright position to avoid shock.

Do not turn the refrigerator over or place it horizontally. If it is necessary to tilt the refrigerator, its angle of inclination relative to the floor must be at least 45°.

Transport the refrigerator in the position indicated by the arrows on the refrigerator packaging.

INSTALLING THE REFRIGERATOR

1. Before using the refrigerator, remove all foam pads from the refrigerator. 2. For proper installation, use the adjustable feet to position the refrigerator in

vertical position (see picture on the right).

3. The refrigerator must be installed on a level

surface, installation on an unstable surface leads to noisy operation and mechanical vibrations.

Installation on an unstable surface results in excessively noisy operation.

If the refrigerator is installed on a carpeted floor, it is necessary to place a flat panel under it to prevent discoloration of the carpet and to facilitate heat dissipation.

For proper installation of the refrigerator, there are adjustable feet at the bottom, with the help of which it is recommended to install the refrigerator with a slight tilt back to make it more convenient for you to close the doors.

Typical faults

Among the most typical malfunctions of these refrigerators is the failure of one of the temperature sensors. Samsung refrigerators most often use universal temperature controllers 502AT. Failure of at least one of them inevitably leads to interruptions in the operation of the entire device. It is not recommended to repair the sensors yourself; it is better to call a specialist for this.

If the temperature is not set on the refrigerator display, the reason may be broken contacts of the electronic panel, which happens most often when the door is reinstalled. Many Samsung refrigerator models provide the ability to move the doors to the other side. This may be required, for example, when rearranging furniture and household appliances in the kitchen. If the door is equipped with a display, you will need to remove the top panel on the door and move the wires to the other side, making sure that the plug connection is not broken when installing the door.

Important! If the display is flashing, this may mean that the refrigerator door has been open for a long time and the temperature inside the device has risen 3°C above the set norm. In addition, the display may be blinking because the temperature setting is not set or the tray is not installed correctly.

The most common malfunctions, as a rule, are listed in the operating instructions for any Samsung No Frost two-chamber refrigerator. Without the skills to repair complex components of the unit, it is better to entrust the diagnosis and troubleshooting to specialists. At the same time, you can independently adjust the temperature, hang the door and perform other simple procedures for the care and maintenance of household appliances of this type.

The Samsung No Frost two-chamber refrigerator is one of the most popular types of household appliances on the Russian market. The device will last for many years if the owner follows the rules of its operation and does not allow emergency operation.

The instructions on how to set the temperature included with the Samsung double-chamber refrigerator allow you to independently adjust the equipment. When setting up, you should follow the manufacturer's recommendations, which will extend the life of the equipment and ensure the safety of products.

TRANSPORTATION AND INSTALLATION

1-Not less than 300 mm; 2-Not less than 50 mm

Provide a gap of approximately 50 to 100 mm between the refrigerator and the wall and at least 300 mm between the top cover of the refrigerator and the ceiling.

Do not install the refrigerator in damp areas as it may malfunction and the metal parts of the refrigerator may rust. If the refrigerator is installed in a damp location, such as near a swimming pool or in a basement, it is necessary to install a leak-proof device for your safety. In the event of natural disasters (thunderstorms, emergencies), you should not turn on a refrigerator that has fallen into water until a Samsung service center has repaired it.

Place the refrigerator away from direct sunlight and other heat sources.

Warning

Do not block the ventilation openings in the refrigerator body or inside the compartments.

How to speed up the process?

Samsung No Frost refrigerators require at least 12 hours to defrost , but it is better to allocate a full day for the process. If time does not allow defrosting to last all day, the process can be speeded up:

  • place a bowl or pan with boiling water in the refrigerator compartment;
  • fill several heating pads, sealed bags or plastic bottles with hot water and place them on the shelves;
  • install a fan heater opposite the refrigerator, turn it on and direct the jet directly to the layer of frost;
  • Turn on the hairdryer at medium power and blow off the ice with a warm stream.

The refrigerator manufacturer Samsung does not recommend resorting to these defrosting methods. The device must thaw on its own so that important structural elements do not fail.

Samsung refrigerators have long and deservedly been in high demand among consumers all over the world, including in Russia and other CIS countries. Such popularity of this type of household appliances was made possible due to the combination of modern design, the latest technologies used by developers, ease of maintenance and reasonable cost. Among the most popular technical discoveries used in Samsung refrigerators is the No Frost system, which eliminates the need to regularly defrost the chambers. Long-term trouble-free operation of the device can be ensured by following simple rules for its operation.

HOW TO USE THE REFRIGERATOR CORRECTLY

PREPARATION FOR WORK

1. Before connecting the refrigerator, remove all foam packaging

materials and carefully place them inside the shelves.

2. Clean the refrigerator with a soft cloth and a small amount of

dishwashing detergents.

3. Before connecting the refrigerator to the network, set the temperature regulator to

middle position, let it dry for 1 hour, then plug its power cord into the outlet (food can be loaded into the refrigerator 2-3 hours later).

Warning

♦ Glass shelves are removable and heavy. Do not allow children to remove them from the refrigerator. ♦ If the refrigerator is placed on an unstable surface, it may make noise. ♦ When you turn on the refrigerator for the first time, it takes 3 to 6 hours for the temperature in the chambers to reach

became quite low.

Note

♦ When using the freezer, be sure to push the drawer back into place before

close the door.

♦ Before connecting the refrigerator to the network, check whether the network voltage corresponds to the permissible

limits. The permissible voltage is in the range of 187-242 V. If the network voltage does not meet these requirements, you will need an automatic voltage regulator (with a power of at least 500 W).

TEMPERATURE CONTROL

Temperature adjustment

♦ To adjust the temperature in the internal chambers

refrigerator, turn the temperature control knob, remembering that the divisions on the temperature scale do not correspond to degrees. At the same room temperature, the closer the regulator is to o, the lower the temperature in the chambers, and the closer it is to o, the higher the temperature in the chambers. If the regulator is set to o, this means the refrigerator is turned off. In general, when the regulator is in the “Medium Cooling” position, moving it to o means a decrease in the temperature in the chambers, and to o means an increase in the temperature in the chambers. When the room temperature is high, set the control between o and "Medium Cooling", while when the room temperature is low, set it between o and "Low Cooling".

Set the switch to ON position when the room temperature is below 16

°C

Temperature compensation switch

♦ If the room temperature is below 16°C, set the switch

temperature compensation to the ON position. When the temperature is above 16°C, set the switch to OFF to save energy.

Temperature compensation switch

Temperature regulator

What temperature should it be

The optimal temperature in the refrigerator and freezer is indicated in the documentation. The manufacturer recommends setting the freezer to -18°C, ensuring uniform cooling of the refrigerator compartment. The technical characteristics of the compressor make it possible to reduce the air temperature to -26°C; the function is used for accelerated freezing of products. Prolonged operation of the equipment at maximum performance leads to damage to components and failure of the refrigerator.

The standard air temperature in the refrigerator compartment does not exceed 5°C. Samsung produces units with convection heat exchange, which differ in varying degrees of heating of the air inside the compartment. The electronically controlled Samsung No Frost refrigerator is equipped with fans for forced movement of air masses; the temperature spread inside the refrigerator compartment does not exceed 1°C.

How to setup

The user must set the temperature in the Samsung refrigerator manually, focusing on the degree of equipment load and external conditions. The attached setup and operating instructions contain tips for adjusting the product. The refrigerators are equipped with sensors that measure the air temperature inside the equipment, as well as in the room and the evaporator housing. The information is transmitted to the electronic control unit, which adjusts the compressor performance.

Drip system

Equipment with a drip defrosting principle has different temperature settings for the refrigerator compartment and freezer. Changes in the temperature background in the freezer are automatically reflected in the state of the main compartment.

To adjust the temperature in a Samsung refrigerator, you need to set the desired value using the rotary corrector or buttons; the number is displayed on the display (if there is a unit). To check the operation of the unit and the correctness of the device readings, use a glass of water, which is placed in the center of the refrigerating chamber. The water temperature should be 1-5°C (determined using a household thermometer placed in a container).

Double chamber refrigerator

Two-chamber models are distinguished by the use of separate regulators; on some modifications of refrigeration units, additional keys are mounted for accelerated cooling of the upper chamber and rapid freezing of products located in the freezer. If the equipment was transported in winter, then before setting up the product is warmed up in the room for 10-12 hours.

In order to adjust the temperature, it is recommended to set the minimum value for 1 hour. During this time, the cavity of the freezer is cooled, and the compressor begins to operate with stable performance. The user then sets the desired temperature by turning the dial or pressing buttons. On some models equipped with 2 compressors, separate settings are used for the freezer and refrigerator compartment.

How to set the temperature in a Samsung No Frost refrigerator

Some modifications are equipped with a control panel that allows you to configure the Samsung refrigerator. A Freezer button is mounted on the panel, which changes the degree of air cooling in steps. Holding the button down for a long time activates the fast freezing mode, which will automatically turn off after 50 hours of operation.

If there is a need to freeze a batch of products, the manufacturer recommends activating the function in advance (15-20 hours in advance). You can forcefully turn off the mode by pressing and holding the Freezer button for 3 seconds. The remote control contains control indicators that allow you to determine the operating mode of the refrigeration equipment.

Additionally, there is a signal buzzer that is triggered when the keys are pressed.

The No Frost refrigeration panel has a refrigerator compartment adjustment button labeled Fridge. The adjustment is made with single presses; holding the key turns on the Vacation energy saving mode, which is used when the owner is absent for a long time. When you press the adjustment buttons, the mode is automatically canceled. The refrigeration equipment supports the CoolSelect Zone cooling mode, designed to preserve meat or fish products in a separate compartment in the refrigerator compartment.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE OF THE REFRIGERATOR

DEFROSTING THE REFRIGERATOR

If a layer of ice and frost has formed inside the refrigerator, you must turn off the refrigerator to defrost and then wipe off the resulting water with a towel or soft, dry cloth.

1. The water generated during defrosting flows into a pan installed above the compressor, where it will then evaporate due to the heat generated when the compressor operates.

2. Too thick a layer of ice and frost impairs cooling efficiency and increases energy consumption.

3. While defrosting the refrigerator, remove food and all accessories from it, set the temperature control to the “Off” position. or unplug the power cord from the outlet and open the camera doors.

4. It is generally recommended to defrost the refrigerator every 2 or 3 months.

Note

1. To avoid damaging the refrigerator, it is not allowed to remove ice for the purpose of

speeding up the defrosting process using metal or sharp tools.

2. It is not allowed to use electric heaters for defrosting.

Warning

Do not use mechanical devices or other means to remove ice to speed up the defrosting process other than those recommended by the manufacturer.

CLEANING THE REFRIGERATOR

Interior and accessories

Use a soft cloth dampened with dishwashing detergent for cleaning. If you used dishwashing detergent, you need to rinse off any remaining detergent with clean water and then wipe all surfaces dry with a dry cloth.

Door seals

If oil, soy sauce, etc. comes into contact with the seals, remove them immediately as the upper and lower door seals can easily be damaged. Be careful when removing dirt to avoid damaging the seals.

REPLACING THE LIGHTING LAMP

Unplug the refrigerator's power cord from the outlet.

Grasp the light bulb shade and remove it by pulling it down.

Turn the lamp counterclockwise.

Screw in the new lamp clockwise.

Lamp specifications: 220 V, 10 W, type E14

Features of the No Frost system

No Frost technology involves the use of fans that should blow through the walls of the refrigerator chambers and prevent frost from forming on them. The evaporator in No Frost refrigerators is placed outside the chamber, and the frost that forms on the fins of the cooler is melted by a periodically switched on heating element. The resulting liquid enters a pan installed behind the compressor. Due to this, maintenance of the refrigerator is greatly simplified, since there is no need to defrost it from time to time, unlike devices with a drip system, when cooling is accompanied by the formation of frost on the surface of the chamber walls.

There are different opinions among experts regarding the need for “manual” defrosting of such devices. Some still recommend defrosting and know-frost refrigerators at least once a year, in order, among other things, to wash it well. But if you strictly follow the instructions in the user manual, then this should not be done. The No Frost system works in such a way that, with proper automation, the processes of ice formation and defrosting should be repeated cyclically. No additional external intervention in work processes is required. You only need to monitor the serviceability and performance of all components.

The advantages of Samsung No Frost system refrigerators are considered to be:

  • uniform temperature distribution inside the unit;
  • quick restoration of the original temperature parameters when doors are frequently opened or there is a large amount of food inside the refrigerator;
  • high efficiency of a multi-flow cooling system, when cold air enters through openings near each shelf;
  • high-quality thermal insulation;
  • The presence of a display makes it convenient to set and regulate the temperature.

Vegetables and fruits in such a refrigerator remain fresh for a long time.

The disadvantages of a refrigerator with dry freezing (No Frost) include their higher cost and increased energy consumption.

STORAGE OF PRODUCTS

Store food in fresh-preserving bags (film) or tightly cover food containers to prevent food from drying out and developing odors.

To save energy, allow hot foods to cool to room temperature before placing them in the refrigerator.

Prepared meals and raw foods must be stored separately.

Do not place food too close to each other, but leave enough space between them to allow cool air to circulate.

It is recommended to store food in small portions.

After washing vegetables or fruits, let them dry before storing them in the refrigerator.

Fruits and vegetables should be stored in the fruit and vegetable drawer, which will help keep them fresh.

Note

It is not recommended to store tropical fruits such as bananas and pineapples in the refrigerator. Do not store items with strict temperature requirements, such as blood serum, bacterial vaccine, research samples, etc., in the refrigerator.

Advice:

If you need more storage space or need to freeze food quickly, remove the refrigerator drawers and place the food directly on the shelf.

Warning

— Do not use anything inside the refrigerator compartments.

electrical devices, except those recommended by the manufacturer.

Samsung refrigerator operating conditions

Proper installation of a new household refrigerator requires complete isolation from heaters and radiators. Install it in a cool and well-ventilated area. Also do not place near gas stoves or electric stoves. Experts also do not recommend placing them near southern windows, through which direct sunlight will penetrate the body every day. Oddly enough, the best place for installation is with a draft.

If the temperature of the kitchen space increases due to “warm” floors, choose a location in an inactive area. Or take into account in advance when installing such a floor that electrical appliances will be installed on it.

What are the dangers of constantly placing a refrigerator in warm areas? This will cause the compressor to run continuously due to the constant circulation of warm air around the housing. Uninterrupted operation of the motor will significantly reduce the service life of both it and the electrical appliance.

Before releasing the movers and installing the refrigerator, check the package contents, re-read the warranty card and check the functionality. Only after making sure that all components are available, that the warranty is filled out correctly and that the equipment is in good working order, let the store representatives go. If something goes wrong, make a claim on the spot and in fact, otherwise it will be difficult to prove something later.

Installation requirements:

  • The room humidity should be no higher than 80%. If you have nothing to measure humidity with, pay attention to the walls, floor and ceiling of the kitchen - if you notice condensation, the humidity is too high.
  • Provide adequate ventilation. If you find problems, contact the Housing Office to clean the ventilation ducts.
  • Choose the coolest place in the kitchen.

Pay attention to the climate class indicated on the information sticker.

Are you planning to install 2 refrigerators at once or place a freezer next to each other? Do not place them close to each other - ensure a distance of at least 2 cm.

Also follow the rules for connecting to the electrical network:

  1. Correlate the equipment parameters with the electrical network parameters. If it operates with a voltage of 220 V, connect to a two-phase power supply, 380 V to a three-phase power supply.
  2. Connect to a grounded outlet to ensure safe operation. It wouldn’t hurt to install a circuit breaker to protect equipment from power surges.
  3. Do not use extension cords, carriers or adapters - connection is only permissible into a fixed outlet in the wall.

Defrosting systems in all modern refrigerators belong to one of two types - drip or wind. Both systems prevent the formation of ice, but fundamentally differ in the principle of operation.

Drip type

Sometimes this type of defrosting is referred to as the No Frost system, although the drip system is only indirectly related to it.

In drip-type refrigerators, there is an evaporator on the back wall, to which a channel is connected that pumps the refrigerant. When exposed to refrigerant, the evaporator becomes cooler than other surfaces, becoming a kind of moisture trap . Moisture droplets settle only on the evaporator and gradually crystallize.

A special sensor monitors the amount of frost deposited on the evaporator. As soon as the layer becomes too large, the automatic system turns off the compressor. The evaporator begins to heat up, the ice melts and flows in the form of drops into a specially designated container, from where it evaporates on its own.

Windy type

The evaporator is also responsible for the operation of the wind-type system. The part is mounted in the back wall and hidden under the casing so that it does not come into contact with the products. The evaporator is equipped with a small fan that disperses cold and warm air flows inside the chamber .

Thanks to continuous ventilation, frost does not have time to settle on the walls, and ice droplets quickly thaw without forming a layer of ice. Melt water flows through separate channels and evaporates over time.

The No Frost system compares favorably with drip auto-defrosting due to its compatibility with freezers.

What types of sensors are there?

In order to maintain the optimal temperature in each of the refrigerator compartments, manufacturers installed a control panel in each instance. The information that the sensor sends to the control panel will affect the temperature of each of the chambers. Sensors can analyze:

Operation of the entire refrigerator;

Condition of the freezer compartment;

The common sensor for the entire refrigerator is located in the center of the refrigerator compartment. Its indicators characterize the average temperature regime. Most modern models are based on the 502AT model. The failure of this element can lead to breakdown of all the mechanisms of the refrigerator, and then a complete stop of the operation of the equipment. Therefore, it is necessary to replace it immediately. It is not recommended to change sensors yourself, since replacement requires certain skills and knowledge. We advise you to contact a service center, where professionals will do everything reliably and efficiently.
