Samsung washing machine error codes: analysis of popular problems

More recently, the washing process took a lot of time and required considerable effort. Washing units, which include the popular Samsung brand, have freed us from hard manual labor.

Moreover, in the event of a breakdown, the self-diagnosis system of this device itself indicates the cause of the problem and its location. This is exactly the problem that Samsung washing machine error codes help solve. It is important to understand the coding in order to be able to effectively use the “smart” unit.

Information about the water level in the machine (E7, 1C or 1E)

The Samsung washing unit has a sensor that monitors the water level - a pressure switch. If codes E7 , 1C or 1E , then the information about the water level necessary for operation has not been received from the pressure switch.

If the pressure switch tube is clogged with lint that has gotten into it, the connection between this device and the control unit may be disrupted: water will be drawn in, but not heated.

The reasons for the absence of the necessary signals may be as follows:

  • the pressure switch itself has failed;
  • there were problems with contacts;
  • the sensor tube may be pinched, clogged or punctured;
  • the pressure switch is installed in violation of the rules;
  • the problems are related to the operation of the control module.

In order for the problem to be solved, it is necessary to remove the sensor, check its tube, clean this part and install it correctly. If a sensor is found to be damaged, it should be replaced with a working one.

If the Samsung washing machine registers incorrect frequencies for more than 5 seconds, an error lights up and the water drain is turned on for 3 minutes.

In what cases can you fix it yourself?

  • You poured in a lot of powder or mistakenly added hand washing powder . This is the simplest reason for the error. Too much foam prevents the sensor from detecting the water level. You need to wait until the drain is complete, remove the laundry and start the rinse program. This will clear the machine of powder and foam. Reload the laundry and start the wash.
  • Water from the sewer enters the machine (incorrect connection). Connecting the drain to the sewer must be carried out according to the instructions for the machine. It happens that you connect the drain to the sink siphon in the bathroom or kitchen, it becomes clogged and the water in it rises, then it ends up in the drain hose, and then into the washing machine tank. With this connection, it is necessary to constantly monitor the cleanliness of the siphons. Carefully inspect the drain connection location and check it with the instructions.
  • A failure has occurred in the control module . Turn off the machine, unplug it for a few minutes - this will reset all programs. Then plug in and start washing.

Malfunctions of the engine tachogenerator (EA, 3C4, 3C3, 3C2, 3C1, 3C, 3E4, 3E3, 3E2, 3E1 and 3E)

One of the following codes appeared on the display: EA, 3C4, 3C3, 3C2, 3C1, 3C, 3E4, 3E3, 3E2, 3E1 and 3E . The machine issues them if too much laundry is loaded into it, if problems arise due to clogging, or if there are problems with the motor.

If the tachogenerator malfunctions, the control module cannot determine the correct engine speed: you need to check the resistance of the tachogenerator winding on the engine

The main reasons for the appearance of these encoding characters may be:

  • engine blocking due to foreign objects;
  • problems with contacts or internal wiring;
  • breakdown of the tachogenerator itself;
  • loading laundry into the machine drum in excess of its maximum permissible weight;
  • a mistake made during engine assembly;
  • incorrect operation of the control module.

Let's begin our search for the true reason for the appearance of error codes on the display by unloading the laundry from the machine drum. Let's make sure that its weight matches the technical specifications of the device. Overload should not be allowed.

Then you should check possible places where blockages may occur: if found, they should be eliminated. We check the quality of contacts and electrical wiring and, if possible, eliminate breakdowns.

It is unlikely that a self-taught mechanic can independently diagnose an engine breakdown and fix it. If the problem lies in the operation of the engine, you will have to seek help from specialists.

CANDY

E01 - problems with the door locking device. E02 - a signal about water supply problems: its level does not reach or exceeds the norm. E03 - problems have arisen in the water drainage system. E04 - the machine signals a malfunction of the water filling system: its level exceeds the norm. E05 - problems with the temperature sensor, no water heating. E07 - signal about a problem with the drive motor (technical generator is faulty). E09 - malfunction of the drive motor (the shaft does not rotate).

Errors in water supply (E1, 4C2, 4C, 4E2, 4E and 4E1)

Do not confuse the lack of water in the car with the fact that information about its availability has ceased to be received. We have already talked about information and the sensor above, but real problems with filling the unit with water cause the following codes to appear: E1, 4C2, 4C, 4E2, 4E and 4E1.

If water does not enter the washing machine, be sure to check the permeability of not only the hose, but also the water supply inlet valves

So, if it is impossible to fill the unit with water, then such a breakdown may be caused by the following reasons:

  • there was an emergency situation in the house, as a result of which the cold water supply was completely cut off;
  • the water supply hose is pinched, bent or clogged with something;
  • a clogged filter element no longer allows liquid to pass through;
  • the contacts have oxidized or the water supply assembly was not performed according to the rules;
  • the protective function for the hose – Aquastop – has been activated;
  • When connecting the washing machine, hot water was accidentally supplied to the pipes instead of cold.

An effective solution to a problem depends entirely on the cause that caused it. First of all, you need to check whether there is cold water in the house. To do this, open the tap, for example, in the kitchen.

Check whether the tap to the hose supplying liquid to the washing machine is open. If kinks or blockages are found, they should be removed immediately. If broken parts are found, they are replaced with serviceable ones.

Common Mistakes

Errors in the water level sensor (pressostat)

For different Samsung washing machine models, the error codes indicating the same problem may vary. For example, errors associated with a malfunction of the water level sensor (pressostat) for the oldest models will be indicated by code 1EE7 , for more modern models, for example, “Diamond”, “Eco Bubble” - E7 , 1C , 1E . If you have a Samsung washing machine made in the USA, then error 1E will be indicated as error LE .

If the display shows codes E7, 1C, 1E , you need to check the serviceability of the wiring and pressure switch hose

The pressure switch in the washing machine detects the water level and sends a corresponding signal to the control module. Errors associated with its malfunction include the loss of such a connection or incorrect operation of the element itself. You need to look for the causes of the error in the following:

  • kink, breakage or other damage to the pressure switch tube;
  • breakdown of relays, contacts or other electronic parts of the pressure switch;
  • failure of the entire sensor;
  • malfunction in the washing machine control module.

E1 is displayed, the washing machine usually automatically turns on the forced drain of water after 3 minutes.

You can eliminate possible causes of malfunctions as follows:

  • first of all, it is necessary to inspect the sensor - it may be enough to simply clean the contacts, connect the tube or remove dirt from it if it is clogged;
  • If it turns out that the pressure switch is faulty, it needs to be replaced.

Motor tachometer errors

Another important element of the washing machine is the tachometer (tachogenerator), which controls the rotation frequency of the drum. If it malfunctions, the number of revolutions does not correspond to the specified washing mode, and the machine may be damaged as a result of excessive rotation. The opposite situation is also possible - irregularities when loading the machine or foreign objects can block the operation of the device.

The tachometer controls the rotation speed of the electric motor.

In modern Samsung models, tachometer errors are indicated by codes 3E ( 3C4, 3C3, 3C2, 3C1, 3C, 3E4, 3E3, 3E2, 3E1 ), in older ones - EA , EB , 8E .

The most common reasons for these errors appearing on the washing machine display are as follows:

  • placing more laundry in the washing machine drum than specified in the operating instructions;
  • foreign objects entering the electric motor;
  • malfunctions in the wiring or control module of the washing machine;
  • failure of the tachometer or engine.

To eliminate possible malfunctions, the first step is to completely unload all the laundry from the washing machine. If malfunctions were associated with overload, then after turning the machine on and off, the error should disappear. More serious problems related to wiring, sensor or motor faults will be much more difficult to fix on your own. If you are confident in your abilities, check the engine for foreign objects and remove them, inspect the wiring and contacts.

Water supply problems

In this section we will talk about problems associated with insufficient or excessive water supply and improper heating.

Errors caused by such problems are indicated by codes E1, 4C2, 4C, 4E2, 4E and 4E1 .

There may be several reasons for improper water flow:

  • the water supply hose is clogged, kinked or damaged;
  • water supply valve clogged;
  • turning off the water supply in an apartment or house;
  • connection to the washing machine is not cold, but hot water.

If there are problems with the water supply, first of all you need to check the serviceability of the corresponding hose

To eliminate violations, you need to:

  1. Check if there is cold water in the taps and if the water supply to the washing machine is not cut off.
  2. Check the water supply hose to the machine: unscrew it and make sure that it is not clogged, damaged or kinked.
  3. Make sure that the machine is connected to cold water and not hot.
  4. Inspect the temperature sensor, as well as the place where the hose is connected to the powder compartment (blockages also often form in this place).

Washing machine hatch errors

If the washing machine door refuses to close or open, it is usually noticeable without prompting on the display. Errors associated with hatch damage are displayed on the screen with codes ED , DC2 , DC1 , DC , dE2 , dE1 , dE .

The hatch may break for the following reasons:

  • a locked car door was opened with force and the lock was broken;
  • foreign objects or debris have fallen into the grooves closing the hatch;
  • there was a failure in the control module of the washing machine;
  • the hatch has become skewed or deformed during operation of the machine;
  • The wash was started with the hatch not hermetically closed.

If you haven't closed the car door tightly or clothes are caught in it, the problem is easy to fix: open the door, put things in the drum and close the hatch tightly until it clicks. Sometimes, in order to “remove” the error, you need to turn off and turn on the machine, and then start the wash.

Repairing the washing machine door lock is best left to professionals.

With a door that cannot be opened, the situation is more complicated: it is better not to fix such a breakdown yourself, but to contact a repairman. A malfunction in the control module can sometimes be resolved by turning off and then turning on the washing machine.

Water leak

Water leak error codes can appear on the display either when there is a real loss of water or when the sensor is broken and transmits an incorrect signal to the control module. Information codes for this error are E9, LC, LE1 and LE.

The causes of the malfunction can be very different:

  • poor connection of the drain hose to the sewer pipe;
  • breakdown of the water leakage sensor;
  • leakage in the tank, hoses or seals;
  • pump malfunction;
  • excessive foaming;
  • low location of the water drain hose.

Before you begin inspecting the washing machine, be sure to disconnect it from the power supply. Then check the integrity of the hoses, seals, filter and their attachment points. If you are unable to identify the problem yourself, it is better to contact a specialist.

Error 5d, 5ud , error Sud , as well as SD , SUdS , are associated with excessive foam formation. The reasons for such a malfunction in the operation of the unit may be the following:

  • incorrect choice of washing powder or its overdose;
  • poor quality of detergent used.

If you notice foam flowing from the washing machine, you urgently need to unplug it, remove all items from the drum, rinse the powder compartment, the filter and the drum itself.

If you use too much powder when washing, foam will flow out of the machine.

Imbalance Errors

E4 , UB or UE appear on the display of the washing machine , this means that there is an imbalance in the washing machine.

The reasons for this phenomenon are:

  • uneven distribution of laundry when loading into the machine drum;
  • the volume of laundry in the drum is too large or too small;
  • imbalance of the washing unit.

This error does not require calling a technician and can be resolved independently. It is necessary to evenly distribute the laundry inside the drum and avoid overloading the washing machine. Manufacturers do not recommend loading the drum completely, either in terms of volume or weight of laundry.

In the instructions for each individual washing machine model you can find recommendations on how to balance the washing machine itself. You can do this yourself without calling a specialist.

Heating element errors

Another important element of the washing machine is the heating element (tubular electric heater), which heats the washing water to the desired temperature. If there are errors in its operation, codes E6, E5, HC2, HC1, HC, H2, H1, HE3, HE2, HE1 and HE .

The causes of heating element failure are often increased water hardness and lime deposits. When the heating element is covered with a thick layer of limestone, it stops heating the water and overheats itself, and then fails. You can prevent an unpleasant situation if you use special water softeners and periodically clean the washing machine, for example, using citric acid. (How to do this correctly, read this article.)

The heating element of a washing machine often fails due to the formation of limescale on its tubes

Other causes of heating element failure may be related to:

  • problems with electrical wiring of household appliances;
  • temperature sensor malfunction.

It is not recommended to independently repair malfunctions associated with heating element breakdowns. The only thing you can do is check whether the washing machine is connected to the network correctly.

Vibration sensor malfunctions

If the vibration sensor does not work correctly or does not send a signal to the washing machine control module at all, codes 8C1, 8C, 8E or 8E1 .

In this case, you can independently inspect the sensor and check the integrity of the electrical wiring connecting it to the control module. If the device is faulty, it must be replaced.

Power supply problems

If the voltage in the electrical network does not meet the parameters necessary for the correct operation of the washing machine, codes 9C , 9E2 , E91 or UC .

The reasons for malfunctions may be different:

  • power surges;
  • lack of electricity in the network;
  • incorrect connection of the washing unit to the network;
  • voltage readings do not correspond to the parameters of the device.

Usually, the appearance of the above codes does not require intervention in the operation of the machine - you just need to wait until the power supply stabilizes. To protect the device from power surges, you can connect a stabilizer.

The machine takes in too much water

Excess water collected in the washing tank is reflected on the display with codes E3, 0C, 0F or 0E . The reasons may be:

  • errors in connecting the drain hose;
  • faulty water drain valve;
  • water level sensor failure.

You can remove excess water by turning off the machine, placing the drain hose in the bathtub and running the wash again.

Problems with draining water (E2, 5E or 5C)

It happens that incorrect operation of the washing machine is manifested by the fact that the water drainage does not work. In this case, the following designations appear on the display: E2, 5E or 5C.

If it is difficult to drain water from the washing machine, then you need to check the outlet of the drain pump: it may be clogged with debris and foreign objects

This encoding draws our attention to the possible presence of the following problems:

  • there is some physical obstacle preventing water from draining from the hose: it is clogged or pinched;
  • the hose is connected to the machine incorrectly;
  • the unit pump has failed;
  • internal electrical wiring is broken somewhere;
  • the blockage could have occurred not in the machine itself, but in the sewer, as a result of which draining became impossible;
  • plumbing fixtures were operated in violation of the temperature regime, and the water in them could simply freeze.

In order for the drain to continue to work properly, the possible causes of problems should be eliminated one by one.

You need to check the permeability of the sewer, sniff to see if there is a smell of burnt wiring, check the hoses and change the pump if it is not working.

Why does the error appear?

If the error OF, OC, OE, E3 is on, the reason may be:

  • Incorrect connection of the drain hose to the sewer pipe, resulting in the washing machine being filled with water through this hose;
  • In blocking the valve for filling water;
  • Using low-quality powder or exceeding its quantity per wash cycle;
  • A failure occurred in the control module.

Often, in order to remove the Samsung SMA error, you need to invite a professional technician, since it is possible that a breakdown has occurred.

No signal from the vibration sensor (8C1, 8C, 8E or 8E1)

The fact that the signals from the VRT+ device have stopped coming will definitely be displayed on the Samsung machine on its display with codes 8C1, 8C, 8E or 8E1 . All of them indicate that there are problems with the correct operation of the sensor.

This sensor error is caused by the following reasons:

  • the vibration sensor of the washing unit has failed;
  • there were problems with the internal electrical wiring;
  • The unit was assembled in violation of technical standards.

Check the sensor connection contacts and electrical wiring. Then assemble the unit and test it in operation. If the problem persists, then the sensor itself is faulty. It should be changed.

What does the error mean?

Error OE in a Samsung machine means the drum is full of water. The water level sensor sends a signal to the washing machine indicating that there is too much water in the drum - more than is required for the selected program. Therefore, the machine stops washing, after which it turns on the drain pump and shows OE on the display.

Code 0F also indicates overflow of water - this is what this error that appears on the washing machine means. Although these error codes may indicate incorrect pressure switch readings.

If your Samsung model does not have a display, how can you identify this error? Check the indicators on the panel: the 40°C and cold water lights are on at the same time, and all washing modes are flashing.

If there are problems with the power supply (9C, 9E2, E91 or UC)

Samsung washing units have very specific requirements for energy supply, which are indicated in the device data sheet. If the declared indicators do not correspond to the actual ones, error codes 9C, 9E2, E91 or UC may appear on the display.

These are errors caused by reasons from the list below:

  • unacceptable voltage surges occur in the network;
  • an extension cord is used to operate the washing device;
  • the actual voltage in the network does not correspond to the stated standards;
  • The control module is faulty.

If the washing machine is connected correctly, but the indicated error codes appear on the display, you should not interrupt the operation of the device.

As soon as the power supply parameters are brought into compliance with the declared ones, the device will continue to operate independently. If there are regular power surges, you should use a stabilizer to reduce unnecessary loads on the unit.

Communication between control modules (AC6, AC or AE) is broken

Lack of communication between control boards can cause error codes AC6 , AC or AE to appear on the display panel.

A malfunction of the control module can be caused by various reasons, including a failure in the firmware, failure of triacs, tracks (microcracks) or relays

It can be assumed that the following errors were the cause of such signals:

  • the modules were connected incorrectly;
  • There are defects in the solder connections of the communication connections.

There may be a temporary network outage. Then it is enough to turn off the device, and after 15-20 seconds turn it on again. If the fault does not resolve itself within this time, you must contact the service center to replace the control module.

Control panel buttons (EB, BC2, bE3, bE2, bE1 and bE)

The control panel of the washing device has switches with which the user selects the washing mode. These buttons can also break over time. Failures of this kind will be indicated by error codes EB, BC2, bE3, bE2, bE1 and bE.

These signs on the display alert us to faults of this kind:

  • the buttons began to stick or stopped being pressed;
  • the control panel is screwed on too tightly;
  • the internal parts of the panel, made of plastic, have lost their original shape (deformed);
  • There are problems with the relay: it is not connected correctly or has stopped closing.

To try to unlock the device, you should press the stuck or stuck buttons. Unplug the machine and then try turning it on again. If these actions do not lead to the desired result, and the codes continue to be displayed, you need to call the service center and call a technician: you will not be able to solve this problem on your own.

Troubleshooting common problems

Experience shows that many problems with Samsung washing machines can be fixed with your own hands, without wasting time and money calling a technician. Let's take a closer look at how this is done.

How to put on a broken belt or replace it

The main sign of such a breakdown is the lack of rotation of the drum when the electric motor is running. To determine the condition of the drive belt, follow these simple steps:

  1. Remove the CM plug from the socket. Close the water supply tap in the water supply.
  2. Disconnect the water supply hose from the SMA and the drain hose from the sewer.
  3. Turn the back of the machine towards you.
  4. Remove the back cover by unscrewing the mounting screws.

The drive belt is easy to replace yourself

If the drive belt has come off the drum pulley, you should remove it completely and check the degree of wear, paying attention to abrasions and cracks, and the presence of rubber shavings on the bottom of the unit. If it is worn or broken, it will have to be replaced with a new original belt.

How to check and replace the heating element

If the SMA does not heat the water , most likely the reason is a breakdown of the heater. Such malfunctions of Samsung washing machines are common. To get to the heating element, you will have to remove the front panel of the SMA along with the hatch door:

  1. Remove the bottom strip on the front panel.
  2. Remove the powder tray and unscrew the fasteners inside the resulting niche.
  3. Remove the top cover of the CM by unscrewing the fasteners.
  4. Remove the control panel by removing all fasteners holding it in place.
  5. Using a screwdriver, carefully remove the clamp holding the elastic cuff in the hatch.
  6. Unscrew the door lock fastener and remove it by disconnecting the connector.
  7. Remove the cuff carefully to avoid damaging it.
  8. Unscrew all fixing fasteners and remove the front panel.

The process of removing the heating element from a Samsung washing machine

The heating element is located at the bottom of the tank. Disconnect all contact wires, carefully remove the temperature sensor from the heating element panel and remove the heater by unscrewing the fasteners in the center.

Test the heater with a multimeter by measuring its resistance. If the heating element is working properly, its value should be within 25-40 Ohms. Then you only need to remove the scale and put the part in place. If the heating element is faulty, replace it.

The video shows the process of replacing the heating element in the Samsung WF-S1054 washing machine:

How to clear a clogged drain system

The main reason for the drain pump not working is a clog in the filter, pump impeller or drain pipe. To determine the location of the blockage, unscrew the filter at the bottom of the front panel and clean it. Shine a flashlight into the niche and look for debris in the pump impeller. If there is one, remove it using tweezers.

Drain filter and pump impeller in the hole

If the damage is not resolved after such cleaning, follow these steps:

  • remove the powder tray;
  • put the machine on its side;
  • remove the pan.

This will give you access to the pump and drain pipe.

Gaining access to the pump and SMA tube

Next, follow these steps:

  1. Place a large rag under the pump to absorb the water.
  2. Remove the pipe and sensor wires from the pump.
  3. Disconnect the drain hose by loosening the clamp.
  4. Unscrew the fasteners and remove the pump.
  5. Remove the pipe.

If flushing the pipe shows that it is clean, the pump may need to be replaced. For diagnostics, it is better to take the pump to specialists at a service center. You can also purchase a new part there and then install it in place.

How to solve a fill valve problem

Most often, the rubber seals in the valve dry out, become rough and crack, allowing water to leak into the lubricant. To get to the inlet valve, you need to do the following:

  • remove the top cover by unscrewing the fasteners on the rear protrusion;
  • locate the valve - the inlet hose is connected to it;
  • remove the valve by loosening the clamps and unhooking the sensor connector;
  • check the condition of the rubber seals and replace them with new ones;
  • if the valve is faulty, replace it with a new one.

Inlet valve in a washing machine

As you can see, there are breakdowns in Samsung washing machines that you can fix yourself. This does not require any special skills. We hope that our article will help you save your family budget.

When hot water is drained (AC6, AC or CE)

The device must not drain too hot water. If this happens, error codes AC6, AC or CE are displayed on the display screen.

These codes warn that the following could happen:

  • the machine was mistakenly connected to hot water rather than cold;
  • The temperature sensor no longer works.

You need to check whether the device is connected correctly. If this error is excluded, all that remains is to buy and install a new temperature sensor.

Gorenje washing machine error codes

F1 Break in the temperature sensor circuit
F2 Exceeding the time limit for water collection.
F31 No signal from the tachogenerator Tachogenerator malfunction.
F32 Engine error
F4 Exceeding the time limit for heating water
F41 Error when heating water. The permissible temperature has been exceeded.
F43 Heating error. Water temperature rises too quickly.
F5 Error when draining water. The time limit for draining water has been exceeded. In this case, there is no signal from the “empty tank” sensor.
F61 Spin error. The required drum speed could not be achieved.
F63 Error in the motor-controller circuit. There may be a break in the circuit.

Hatch door faults (ED, DC2, DC1, DC, dE2, dE1,dE)

During the washing process, the hatch door of the washing machine must be tightly closed. If this does not happen, then you will see the following symbols on the display: ED, DC2, DC1, DC, dE2, dE1, dE.

The door locking problem is one of the most common malfunctions: first of all, you should check the operation of the locking mechanism itself

The reasons for their appearance are as follows:

  • the hatch door is not closed tightly enough;
  • the hatch locking mechanism has failed;
  • the door was displaced during the boiling process;
  • they tried to open the hatch using force and damaged it;
  • The sunroof lock connector was installed incorrectly;
  • the sunroof sensor turned on spontaneously during the vibration of a working machine;
  • An error has occurred in the control module.

Before contacting the workshop, you should find out whether the error codes appeared due to the door not being closed well enough. To do this, open the hatch and then slam it shut again. You need to check whether any debris or a corner of dirty laundry has gotten into the locking device. If these measures do not lead to the desired result, you should call a specialist.

How to fix

To correct the situation, the user needs to check the drain hose. A common cause of the OE error on LG units is a simple blockage or bend in the drain tube. The device cannot drain the water and indicates that the amount of water exceeds the desired level. If the drainage mechanism is routed into the washbasin siphon, it is necessary to check the integrity of the structure. There may also be a sewer blockage. The machine simply has nowhere to drain the water. Therefore, a mandatory step in correcting the situation is to check the sewer system for operability.

Another reason for the OE error on LG washing machines is a clogged filter. This element is located on the front panel at the bottom of the device. To clean it, you need to unscrew the hatch, remove the filter tube and clean it.

What to do if there is an OE error in an LG washing machine if all previous manipulations did not lead to the desired result? You can turn off the unit, turn off the power and wait 20-30 minutes and turn it on again. If the error repeats, then the control electronic board needs to be replaced.

Errors when turning on the ventilation mode (FC or FE)

If the device has a drying mode, then codes FC or FE .

This is how the system can respond to the following faults:

  • wiring has been damaged;
  • the connector has come out of the place where it was originally installed;
  • the blades were blocked due to lack of lubrication and various debris getting inside the device;
  • The starting capacitor is broken.

The problem is not as simple as it might seem at first glance, so call a specialist and don’t worry. It’s easier to pay than to break it and then buy a new washing machine.

The heating element has failed (E6, E5, NS2, NS1, NS, H2, H1, HE3, HE2, HE1 and NOT)

It will not be a revelation to anyone that the washing device contains a heating element - a heating element, with the help of which the water acquires the temperature necessary for washing things. Errors in the operation of the heater are manifested by the appearance of codes E6, E5, HC2, HC1, HC, H2, H1, HE3, HE2, HE1 and NOT.

A faulty heating element, completely covered with scale, requires replacement. It can be damaged not only by hard water, but also by regular use of baby powders that contain soap.

They appear on the scoreboard as a result of the following problems:

  • there are malfunctions in the internal network caused by a wire break or short circuit;
  • the tubular electric heater (TEH) is broken;
  • the temperature sensor has failed;
  • errors occurred during the steam function;
  • The machine is not properly connected to the power supply.

In such a situation, there is little you can do yourself, except to check that the unit is connected to the electrical network correctly. If everything is fine with this, and the codes continue to be displayed on the display, call a specialist.

What to do with errors OF, OC, OE, E3

They require solving the problem, but for this it is important to know how to resolve the fault code that has arisen. And this directly depends on the reason for the appearance of the OS indication.

Here's what you need to do to fix the situation and get the washing machine to work properly:

  1. If there is a lot of powder in the drum, then abundant foam will form. It enters the pressure switch tube and creates increased pressure. Therefore, the water level sensor starts the process of draining the water, and the code 0C, 0E, E3 is displayed on the washing machine screen. In this case, you need to drain the water, take out the laundry and run the machine for rinsing to rinse the drum. Next, run the machine to check to make sure that the OC error is resolved.
  2. If the washing machine is not connected to the drain hose correctly, the display will show OE, OF, E3. It is necessary to properly drain into the sewer pipe.
  3. If there is a temporary failure in the control module, then here's how to fix it - turn off the washing machine, unplug the plug from the socket, let the machine rest for 5 minutes, then turn it on again, and start the washing process.

If these methods of resetting the error do not help, then a professional inspection of the washing machine is necessary.

Breakdowns that require calling a technician

Other serious malfunctions in the Samsung washing machine also cause errors marked OS, OE, E3, OF:

  • The water level sensor is acting up - this element needs to be replaced;
  • The tube and air chamber of the pressure switch are clogged - these elements need to be cleaned;
  • The control controller is faulty - requires replacing the fuse or the entire controller;
  • The fill valve is broken and needs to be replaced;
  • Weak contact or break in the water level sensor wire - you need to connect the damaged wires or install a new cable with wires.

How to fix such breakdowns?

You can deal with the OE fault code yourself by first finding out its cause. But often the intervention of a technician is required to fix the breakdown.

Water leakage occurs (E9, LC, LE1 and LE)

Code errors E9, LC, LE1 and LE appear on the display if water flows out of the machine spontaneously.

The reason for spontaneous draining of water in the washing machine may be the incorrect location of the drain hose and its incorrect connection to the sewer.

This situation can happen due to a number of reasons:

  • The drain hose is too low;
  • the drain hose is not connected correctly to the sewer;
  • the seal, drain hose or the tank itself is leaking;
  • the fastening of the heating element has become loose;
  • There was too much foam during the washing process due to excess detergent or the use of a detergent with a high level of foaming;
  • the pump cover is installed in violation of the rules;
  • leak sensor is faulty

You should disconnect the machine from the power supply, change the position of the drain hose, check the condition of the seals, tank and hose. If the cause of the malfunction is not identified at this stage, and the error code still appears, it is time to show the washing unit to a technician.

Fault codes

All information codes are divided into categories depending on the type of malfunction. Let's look at the most common problems and the corresponding error codes on the display.

Samsung washing machine error codes may differ for new and old models, automatic and semi-automatic units, as well as for equipment from the USA.

Water drainage errors

Incorrect operation of the washing machine may be due to a problem in the water drainage system. E2 , 5E or 5C appears on the display . Errors may occur for the following reasons:

  • clogged drain hose or hoses inside the machine;
  • sewer blockage;
  • clogged drain pump filter;
  • squeezing or twisting of the drain hose;
  • drain pump failure;
  • incorrect connection of the hose to the sewer;
  • violation of the temperature regime during operation of the machine (water could freeze at sub-zero temperatures).

Incorrect operation of the washing machine may be due to a broken drain pump.

To fix the problem, unplug the machine and drain the water in emergency mode. Clean the drain filter and make sure that the hose is not kinked or damaged. Start the machine in the “Rinse + Spin” mode (without laundry and powder). If the error appears again, the cause may be a sewer blockage. Disconnect the unit from the mains, disconnect the hose from the sewer, lower its end into the bath and run the machine in rinse mode. If the water drains freely, then the drain needs to be cleaned. After removing the blockage, test the machine again. If the problem reappears, contact a specialist.

Errors of a tubular electric heater (TEH)

If errors H1 , H2 , HC , HC1 , HC2 , HE , HE1 , HE2 and HE3 , E5 or E6 , then the problems may be associated with malfunctions of the heating element. The causes of the malfunction are most likely the following:

  • incorrect connection of the unit to the electrical network;
  • breakdown of the heating element;
  • failure of the temperature sensor;
  • errors in the operation of the internal network caused by a short circuit or wire break.

In this situation, you can independently check only the correct connection of the machine to the electrical network. If this is not the problem, call a specialist.

Error h1 on a Samsung washing machine indicates a malfunction of the heating element

Water supply errors

Errors associated with improper water supply are indicated by codes: E1 , 4E , 4E1 , 4E2 , 4C and 4C2 . Breakdowns can be caused by various reasons:

  • The water supply tap is closed or the cold water in the house is turned off;
  • weak water pressure in the pipes;
  • the inlet hose is pinched or clogged;
  • the filler filter is clogged;
  • the protective function of the inlet hose has been activated;
  • The inlet hose is connected to the hot water tap (error 4C2 ).

4e – Samsung washing machine error indicating problems with water supply.

Check the availability of cold water in the house and make sure that the tap is not closed and the hose is connected correctly. Inspect the hose, remove kinks and blockages.

If an excess amount of water enters the machine during the washing process, codes E3 , 0C , 0F or 0E . They appear if:

  • The drain hose is not connected correctly;
  • the valve regulating the water flow is blocked;
  • The water level sensor is broken.

Turn off the machine, lower the drain hose into the tub and run the same wash cycle. If the error does not appear, it means that the drain hose was connected incorrectly; if the error appears again, contact a technician.

Excessive foam volume

If abundant foam appears during washing, this is indicated by error 5d ( 5ud ) or information codes SUdS , Sud and SD . Possible reasons for this failure:

  • excess washing powder;
  • poor quality detergent;
  • using a product that is not suitable for an automatic washing machine;
  • clogged drain filter;
  • malfunction of the foam sensor.

If the foam does not pour out of the drum, you can do without turning off the machine. Wait until its volume decreases (press the “Pause” button) and continue washing. Clean the filter after use.

If the foam flows out, the machine must be turned off, the laundry removed, and the filter cleaned. After this, you need to run the machine (without linen and powder) in the “Synthetic” or “Cotton” mode at a temperature not lower than +60 ℃о: this will help wash the internal parts of the unit and dissolve the remaining powder.

The error sud ( 5ud , sd ) indicates that there is too much foam in the drum. To avoid this problem, do not use unusual detergents, such as shampoo or dishwashing liquid, for washing.

Imbalance Errors

Error e4 , as well as codes UB and UE, indicate that the machine is out of balance. Typically, such codes appear at the end of the wash cycle. Possible reasons:

  • the laundry was unevenly distributed throughout the drum during washing;
  • there is too much or, on the contrary, very little laundry loaded;
  • The balance of the machine itself is disturbed.

It is necessary to evenly distribute the laundry inside the drum, remove excess items if necessary, and also, following the instructions, try to balance the device.

Water leak

Samsung washing machine error codes E9 , LC and LE warn of water leakage. This situation can happen for a number of reasons:

  • low location of the drain hose;
  • incorrect connection of the drain hose to the sewer;
  • leakage of the seal, drain hose or tank;
  • the appearance of excess foam during the washing process;
  • violation of the rules for installing the pump cover;
  • Leak sensor malfunction.

Error codes LE1 and LC1 indicate that water has entered the bottom of the machine. The reasons may be as follows:

  • drain filter leakage;
  • leakage of internal hoses or drain hose;
  • leakage of the machine door (damage to the cuff);
  • Water leaking from the detergent compartment.

Error e9 on a Samsung washing machine often occurs due to the low position of the drain hose, its damage, or improper connection to the sewer.

To correct the error, disconnect the machine from the power supply, change the position of the drain hose and check the condition of the seals, the tank and the hose itself. If the error code still appears, contact a technician.

Engine tachogenerator malfunctions

Codes 3C , 3C1 , 3C2 , 3C3 , 3C4 , 3E , 3E1 , 3E2 , 3E3 and 3E4 (in earlier models - EA , EB , 8E ) appear if the motor is overloaded, broken or blocked by a foreign object. However, there may be other reasons:

  • drum overload;
  • problems with contacts or internal wiring;
  • engine speed sensor failure;
  • error during engine assembly;
  • incorrect operation of the control module.

Unload the machine and make sure that the weight of the laundry is within the acceptable parameters. Check all possible places where blockages may occur. If you can, check the quality of the contacts and wiring. To test the device, run any wash program without laundry or powder. If the error appears again, call a technician.

Do not load the machine drum with too much laundry - this leads to malfunction of various systems

Network power errors

When the mains voltage does not meet the parameters required for the operation of household appliances, codes 9C , 9E1 , 9E2 or UC . The reasons for the violations are as follows:

  • unstable voltage;
  • the voltage value does not meet the standards;
  • control module failure;
  • the unit is connected through a faulty extension cord or adapter.

If the device is connected correctly, but the listed error codes are displayed on the display, you should not interrupt the operation of the machine. As soon as the network parameters are restored, the unit will continue to operate independently. For regular voltage surges, it is recommended to use a stabilizer.

Hatch door malfunction

de washing machine error occurs when the hatch door is not closed tightly. Information codes DE1 , DE2 , DC , DC1 , DC2 and ED indicate the following malfunctions:

  • breakdown of the hatch locking mechanism;
  • door displacement or deformation;
  • incorrect installation of the sunroof lock connector;
  • error in the control module.

Check to see if any debris or corners of laundry have gotten into the locking device. Make sure the door mechanism is working properly. Sometimes, to resolve the error, it is enough to turn off and start the device again.

To avoid having to repair the door, try to handle it as carefully as possible

Temperature sensor error

Samsung washing machine error codes EC , TE , TE1 , TE2 , TE3 , TC , TC1 , TC2 , TC3 , TC4 indicate incorrect operation of the temperature sensor. Failure may occur for the following reasons:

  • damage to the sensor or its wiring;
  • incorrect installation of the temperature sensor;
  • heating element failure.

Such problems can only be fixed by a specialist.

Water level sensor errors

Washing machines are equipped with a pressure switch - a sensor that monitors the water level. 1e appears on the display , it means that the pressure switch has stopped giving a signal. The reasons for the failure may be different:

  • breakdown of the pressure switch;
  • problems with contacts;
  • clogged or damaged sensor tube;
  • installation of a pressure switch in violation of the rules;
  • problems with the control module.

To solve the problem, sometimes it is enough to remove the sensor, check its tube, clean the part and install it correctly. In other cases, the pressure switch needs to be replaced.

You can troubleshoot the pressure switch by cleaning the tube and checking the integrity of the wiring

Error 1E in the first modifications of Samsung washing machines will be designated 1EE7 . In modern models, such as Diamond, Eco Bubble or WF-F861, - E7 or 1C . If your machine is made in the USA, then error 1E will be displayed as error le .

Control Panel Errors

Error code 6e and information codes EB , BE , BE1 , BE2 , BE3 and BC2 indicate control panel faults. The reasons may be as follows:

  • Buttons are stuck or not pressed;
  • The control panel is screwed on too tightly;
  • the inner part of the panel is deformed;
  • problems with the relay.

To unlock the machine, press the stuck button. Disconnect the device from the network, and then try to turn it on again. If the steps do not help, contact a specialist.

For owners of units without a display (models S821, S852, S1021 and the like), it is much more difficult to determine the nature of the malfunction: errors must be deciphered by the number of indicators that light up on the dashboard. To understand the malfunctions of such machines, we recommend watching the video below.

Of course, information codes do not always indicate the exact cause of a machine breakdown, but they allow you to determine in which system you need to look for a malfunction.

If you did not find the error code you are interested in in our article, ask your question in the comments - we will try to help you.

When there is too much water (E3, 0C, 0F or 0E)

If during the washing process more water is poured into the machine than necessary, you will see one of these codes on the display: E3, 0C, 0F or 0E.

Their appearance may indicate the following:

  • the drain hose is not connected correctly;
  • the valve regulating the water flow is blocked;
  • The water level sensor is broken.

You can try to avoid this mistake by turning off the machine and then lowering the drain hose into the bathtub. Start the wash in the desired mode. If the error appears on the display again, contact a repair shop.

Errors in the operation of the temperature sensor (EC, TC4, TC3, TC2, TC1, TC, tE3, tE2, tE1)

If the following signs are displayed on the display: EC, TC4, TC3, TC2, TC1, TC, tE3, tE2, tE1, then the temperature sensor is not working correctly.

This malfunction can be caused by the following reasons:

  • the temperature sensor is faulty or incorrectly installed;
  • the tubular heater (TEN) has failed;
  • Internal wiring does not work.

These problems cannot be fixed on your own. Contact the service center.

Imbalance error codes (E4, UB or UE)

If the message E4 , UB or UE , then there is an imbalance in the device.

Imbalance during washing can significantly shorten the life of your washing machine: distribute the laundry inside the device as evenly as possible

The reasons for this violation are:

  • the laundry was unevenly distributed throughout the drum during washing;
  • the balancing of the unit itself is disturbed.

You should evenly distribute all the laundry inside the drum, and also, following the instructions, try to balance the device.
